I'm Jason, a full-time British Travel Vlogger and UA-camr who's been to 55 countries. I've been travelling around the world full-time since 2017. So far, my trips have taken me to Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.
I have travel series' from many of the world's best (and least) known destinations. I filmed the first vlogs on my channel in the summer of 2016 after spending a year living in China. A proper solo trip around Eastern Europe followed after graduating from University in the summer of 2017, taking me to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Kosovo. This trip marked the start of my efforts to make a UA-cam full-time job.
After that European trip I went heavily into exploring Asia, visiting India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Kazakhstan (seeing me cover a lot of Far East and Southeast Asia in particular).
I have also travelled to North Africa and the Middle East fairly extensively over the last five years, filming videos in Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Israel and Palestine.
To date, I have not yet been to Australasia or South America. Though I am hoping to visit the latter sometime in 2022, along with a first stop in the Caribbean.
I've travelled to North America just once as a UA-camr, visiting Mexico in 2021. Though I have been to both the USA and Canada, this was as a child on family holidays.
So far in 2022, I've taken my first trip to Sub Saharan Africa, visiting both Kenya and Tanzania, before heading to the Middle East, stopping in Dubai and Lebanon. Europe followed, covering both the Greek and Turkish sides of Cyprus, and afterwards going back to Italy for the second time to cover Milan and Sicily. In the summer I visited the Caribbean for the first time, spending over a month in the Dominican Republic, before stopping in Belgium on my way home.
After shooting some videos in Taiwan, I made my way to the Philippines for the second time.
#samal #davao #philippines
i am glad you made a smart move, unlike other most foreign vloggers who went straight to cebu from manila,, i am glad you chose davao, enjoy and have fun.. bisaya are much nicer than people in manila. i can promise you that,, take care haha
I feel like most vloggers make the mistake of going to Samal island spontaneously which isn't the best way to enjoy it. You better go to Sta Ana port in Davao city at around 6am and book an island hopping tour (joiners possible) which takes you to the best marine spots of Samal, including Talikud beach, coral garden, clam garden, angel cove, etc.
If you wanna go by barge, it is best if you booked a fancy resort, which would have great amenities like fire dancing show, infinity pool, inflatable islands, etc. And then do the famous inland tour which includes a bat cave, cliff jumping, waterfalls, etc.
I do appreciate the places you visited though. I haven't been to those spots yet and it's really raw and pristine.
This is true. Spontaneous travel in Samal is not as good as Camiguin or Siargao.
What? flying from another continent to stay in a fancy resort, with fire dancing, infinity pool, inflatable islands? LOL!! If those thing make you happy then go for it. Jeez.
HELLO! Can I get more info about that ?
Thanks! Real nice Davao vlogs Jason, my family and I would be touring Manila, Luzon and Davao this winter. Just my way of thanking your current and past Philippine video guides. Cheers!
@jasonbillam 🤣🤣🤣🤣
👋
Thanks for showing us a part of the Philippines, Jason! It is beautiful! Enjoy!!🥰🌴🥣
The islands of Davao and Samal look amazing and seem affordable for travelers on a budget.
Hi there buddy, I would say you the tuktuk driver charged you a little bit more than we would've paid as a local. 'foreigner price' some would say. The more importany this is that you arrived safe (as I would expect every ride would be)
Love seeing your travel videos especially there in Davao area. Cheers!
Sounds like he doesnt have much idea what prices ought to be, id be asking the price BEFORE i agree to any fare. Im not paying anymore because im white.
Getting ripped off isnt my thing.
Loves to travel jason
9:20 That little island is called Malipano Island and is part of Pearl Farm Beach Resort. A 5 star beach resort in Samal Island.

Thanks for sharing some hikes of the area! Hope you’ll get to go to Cagayan de Oro on your next trip to the islands
Thank you for loving our island.. more places and attractions to visit so come again...
Now, you can see why the bridge is much needed. It would significantly reduce traveling costs around the island. and It would make the island develop faster. Sadly, it has been left behind even if the president was from Davao because he prioritized the infrastructure projects from other provinces of the Philippines during his term.
Samal bridge construction is already started now. PRRD prioritize other provinces in the Philippines baka may masabi p ang mga tao dahil lugar nia kailangan mas mauna. May delikadesa lng c PRRD kya after his term Davao city is booming in infrastructures now
👋👋👋
Just planning to go to Samal Island on July, so I found your video to get some basic info about the Islad. Thanks for this video. Cheers!
The Beautiful Island Garden City of Samal, Davao's premier beach destination.
@Jason billam Thanks Jason! Got a messenger alone..
Thank you for mentioning that the Philippines has thousands of islands. That means there are some difficulties with transportation going from one island to another. And also, some of the foreign vloggers keep complaining about the internet/Wi-Fi. Guys' I'm tired of hearing your complaint about the Wi fi. Before you complain, do your research first about ISLANDS alright. I live here in the Carolinas but the wi-fi signal here is still lagging or sometimes nothing.
Access to the beach? Access to the beach is Always Free.
Camiguin is a must! Come back, so much more to see!
I'm a Filipino and I have been to many islands in my country but the one place I still haven't visited which I know in my heart is the most beautiful place in the Philippines is Batanes
Filipino? You really look like a filipina, strange
I go to Davao the month of October. I plan to go to a few other places there. I will have to put Batanes on the list.
Thanks!!

The second foreign vloger visiting the island 🏝 of Samal.
Cruuuussshhh! 😍😍😍😍
Thank you thank you for including distances and how to get around!
You should have gone to Canibad Resort it is very quiet and by the way they charge you so much for your tricycle. I just literally left Davao back in the UK. Shame we did not meet , I could have shown you around
New subscribers here from korea 🇰🇷 Philippines 🇰🇷 🇵🇭 💖
that was excelent thank you
You're very nice and brave to go there alone. Great video
I think the tryke fare is a fair charge. We also went to Samal Island recently. We rented a tryke for a half day tour for 1K pesos. Although there is really nothin much to do in Samal. Not a place that I would go back to
Thanks for sharing. I hope that I will be able to get there in the near future.
Thank you for the tour here in our place. Maayong pag abot, Jason.
They are building the Davao/Samal bridge already
Take care your next vlog hope you come back again

There are more than 50 Beach resorts ranging from very affordable ones to 3 star and 5 star ones.
So resorts wise, there are a lot.
Fancy restaurants? Few.
hello new here, tnx for visiting Davao! Try exploring siargao' hopefully in ur next visit most especially "bucas grande island" (Sohoton) 😊😊

Welcome to Davao city unta ganahan ka balik balik ha pag dalag amego of pamilya nimo hope you read my comment ♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏
It's better to rent scooter when you travel around Samal Island. Enjoy!!
Welcome to my hometown. Samal Island ❤😂🎉 Watching from Dubai, UAE.
@jasonbillam thank you very much
I was in Mabini last year and you couldn't find any coast that wasn't a private resort. I understand why, but it is a shame. I hope there's some natural areas on Samal as I'm going next month.
A bridge? Oh that should be safe. As a retired engineer I can say after doing basic testing on the integrity of Philippine concrete that it resembles compressed sand stone rather then concrete. I’ll continue to take the boat. Thanks
My home city you visit Cagayan de Oro to in 7 seas but now I'm here at tagbilaran city bohol work here
I miss Davao...i hope after the bridge finally finish , i can build a little nipa house in my 740 sgm. Lot ,God willing‼️..❤ I love Davao..My birth place n my retirement life soon.

Siquijor is nice.
Good to see you sticking to your guns Jason and avoiding the touristy (local and foreign) areas.
Be careful in Amsterdam, there are certain cakes that can make you bent like a coathanger. 🙂
wow!
Will u go to USA and Canada to vlog lovecto see them vids I heard Canada a beautiful country
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Niceeeee
Try to visit Iloilo City.
Try Siargao next time 😃
Jason: You are paying too much for TukTuk and pedicab. Cut it in half. I have a house on Samal. It is nice there. Thanks for the video.
There are many more beautiful place you want to travel here in the Philippines ❤️
You should have gone to pearl farm in samal island. That is the place to be.
I stayed there. No.
6:34 Adventist Here Hehehe
SUBBED
Ferry between Davao and Samal Island will be a thing of the past bc they are soon about to build a bridge which BTW, was heavily protested bc it will eventually devastate the natural beauty of the island. And yes, unfortunately you were scammed by that pedicab driver. Always, Always do not hesitate to ask a local. Interact with the locals ang you’ll be amazed at the warmth, hospitality and generosity ( even if they don’t have much)of the Filipino! Who knows? You might even be offered into a local home and toured around the island . The true beauty of the Philippines ( if you don’t know yet) are it’s people!
I could need a shout-out good content, btw 👌

Did you know there is a ginger fest every year in the Netherlands?
I bough a small land in samal in tagpopongan
❤❤❤
If u want a cool and quiet place in samal island go to Pearl Farm ☺️ though its too pricey but worth it..
It's NOT worth it. Another nothing to see and do resort.
Did you visit Cagayan de Oro sir Jason
It seems, you didn't maximize your travel to Samal. There's a lot of beautiful places over there untouched, undevelop but nature has keep it nice and beautiful. anyway, i suggest you travel to Surigao to have a grand tour in Mindanao.
Can You Make A Video You Travel To Beijing,China
How long did you spend in Samal? 3 days? enough?
BRO YOUB SHOULD OF GONE TO PARADISE ISLAND RESORT
Thank you for going to philippines pls go to oakwood it's a place with homes not a tree and if you find a home go live there I'm right next to it don't go to any houses cuz might get the guard on you.
Yeah it's 250 pesos for toktok, (for nearby resorts from ferry terminal) supposedly its good for 4 people.(if u have your friends with u)
Salamat sa pagbisita sa Davao ❤️
I'm from Davao city hello
What's the best way coming from Chicago Illinois USA to get to the island
R u still in Davao?
how much the hostel?
tweet: Howdy friendly Englishman, Jason, dear. We are not yet done with our plan in modernizing all of our communities; especially in large provinces like Davao City. How did you end up in the provinces, your suppose to stroll down Manila and in Makati City only for good looking eye catching sceneries and for tourists sightseeing spots. Have Fun! Don't eat too much Dorian, Jason. Try hot pandesal (dinner rolls) and siopao (stuffed bread) with a chilled coca-cola or with your favorite beverages. Do not get fat, it's bad for you. be blessed, Jason. Will you be spending Jesus' Birthday Celebration in Manila, dear? Have Yourself a very MERRY CHRISTMAS - 2022! be blessed.
please be careful
