I started playing Mistweaver this season. LBNinja7's videos got me excited to play it and I really enjoy the spec and coming back to the channel. His videos are just so friendly and engaging. Mistweaver feels like what I always wanted Restoration Druid to be. Swapping between damage and triage while being proactive about setting up the next few steps in healing. It just feels like such a fluid spec whereas the wasted global cooldowns for shapeshifting feel so punishing in restoration.

Pool of Mists is one of the most fitting talents they've ever put for MW, if they only did not forget to make some talent or even RenMist to be off the GCD (or trigger half of it) that's actually be making the spec amazing.
Refreshing Jade Wind and Yu'lon's Wisper changes are godlike level.
Chi Harmony's change is understandable as Pool of Mists is what takes care of the disadvantage of this change, equalizing it, very well balanced change.
The only thing i wonder (for me) is how the f am i gonna tell my Aptechka frames to track that, given the aforementioned way it works, hopefully it's less simplified than it sounds
(the only other but that i know which has similar hard coded complex functionality is HPriest's Mastery, Echo of Light).
Hey, Misty Peaks actually exists now as an option and a better one, as it screamed for its existence to be acknowledged. Yeih..

Ooo rem off the gcd gives my arthritis a nice chill down its achy spine! That would be filthy, but I agree this talent looks pretty interesting and gives new life to rising mist in raid!

@@LBNinja7 Many times when you are spinning or you are doing some hard casting and people are dying and you wan to apply that Chi Harmony, then pop an instant Vivify on them it takes "ages" until you do that, because you have to "waste" 1 GCD in order to apply RenMist and thus Chi Harmony, to get that juicy healing increase, otherwise literally, within 1-2 secs, someone can die and you are just lucky some times that they don't, even with 35% haste.
This is main reason i suggest off the GCD, or like what they did with DPriests back in Wrath when they had a talent which made casting PW:Shield triggering only half of the GCD but that's a bit dumb to do it for MW because while it would fit the weaving theme, it wouldn't fit to help the single target profile healing as much as the previous solution.
Also imagine spinning and throwing RenMists gracefully at the same time, just #chef's kiss

"Teaching of the Monastery is now a baseline effect."
You forgot (Blizzard) about doing the same thing for Ancient Teachings, and i am not debating this, it's a command at this point, just do it.
    Same for Atonement for DPriests.

I know I 100% had to double take because I first thought they meant ancient teachings! Maybe one day, and even rising mist could one day be baseline!

@@LBNinja7 If that happened i would be so absurdly happy, an explosion might've been observe from orbit level from my country (fireworks-like i mean) because of how happy i would be xD
Jokes aside, I just hope Blizzard comes to their senses and they realize their mistake and we go back to having if not most of our spells which we had as baseline, as baseline, it was a better design, DF's talent system messed it up simply because it's a mix of the old talents, new logic (the spells put into it) + SL's covenant talents. It seems to give more options and at times it does but it's mostly actually very limiting.

I gotta say as someone who mainly enjoys mistweaver in really high keys (not much raiding outside of heroic stuff at the start of each tier), the fact my renewing mist will stay on the target for 8 sec is a fantastic change. I find it very annoying that when i want to prep for big healing on a target, I apply chi harmony and then my renewing mist randomly jumps to the tank or another target that won't need it. It makes for confusing gameplay that also sometimes makes me overwrite existing RM by accident. Again, strictly in a 5 man scenario I really enjoy this change since it will allow the chi harmony + EM buff window to be a lot more consistent.
I don't really care about the buff frame notion though, as you said it can always be customized from the mistweaver's side.

See this is an excellent point and exactly why I love making these videos! You know, when I first read it I thought "but renewing mists healing is pretty small so you'll rarely miss it" but then I remembered that invigorating mists also heals your vivify target if they have rem on them. A very great point!

The Renewing Mists icon changing when Chi Harmony is active and then going back to the same icon we have now when it is not active has NOTHING to do with Renewing Mists not being able to jump to other targets when Chi Harmony is active.

    • @LBNinja7
      @LBNinja7  3 місяці тому

It does though. The wording is:
Renewing Mist increases its target’s healing received from you by 50% for the first 8 seconds of its duration, but cannot jump to a new target during this time.
So the first 8 seconds the renewing mist is on an ally it will be a hybrid rem/chi harmony buff that is locked on that target for the 8 seconds. Then once the 8 seconds of chi harmony run out, the rest of the renewing mist will be free to jump around
So it will just be the chi harmony symbol for 8 seconds, then renewingmist icon for 12 secs

@LBNinja7 the thing I was referring to was when you got to the "Developers' Notes" and you were like "I don't understand" and went to referring that note to Renewing Mists not being able to jump. The Developers' Notes had nothing to do with that just that the icon would change when Chi Harmony was active and then swap back to the original icon when not active.
That Dev Notes would still be relevant if they keep Chi Harmony the way it is now because it was just referring to the icon on your buff bar... not about the spell itself. Though I can see your point since if the icon changes and Renewing Mists jumps off... hrmn. Ok, you got me now since I think about it further. LOL.
I'm a fan of the icon changing whether Chi Harmony is in effect... I don't know if I'm a fan of it making it where Renewing Mists will not be able to jump. Hrmn.
