Nice job repairing the set! This model was originally manufactured by Wuxi Xindong in China. They are extremely obscure, but I've discovered they made all sorts of sets back in the day like the Shrek TV, the Memorex Video Ball, and the Retrovision Astro TV.
Have you ever replaced the dvd drive entirely in a combo tube tv? I have an RCA Flatscreen crt that has not only a very noisy drive, but also freezes/unfreezes several times before playing. I'd like to replace the drive if I could, but uncharted territory online so far.

Magnasonic is the name of a long-running Canadian electronics company. This set is merely a rebadged of a Chinese-made chassis.
So nice. My daughters old spongebob tv/dvd combo has same issue tray won't open. Now can try to fix it
