You did a great job Cheyenne! It takes practice learning how to shop and figuring out how the store is laid out and you are learning a lot so be kind to yourself and I know you’ll get there!

Well done Cheyenne for getting through a stressful moment. I often feel the same and it stops me going to supermarkets but maybe i should try taking a break in a quieter part of the store

You did a fantastic job Cheyenne!!! I often need to take a break in those huge stores. I'm from Bermuda and when I travel to the US or Canada, I get overwhelmed in their stores as they are sooooo big compared to our small shops. Your mum is doing a fabulous job teaching you life skills! I can't wait to see you prepare your meals and dessert!

I totally get it. I get overwhelmed too. It confuses me why there are 10 different brands of the same thing 😂. Anyone else have this feeling too?

Good Job Cheyenne. Sorry to see you got stressed out in the store. It was nice that you were able to take a break. I know the Superstore where I live has a bench inside the main doors. When I get stressed or overwhelmed I go with my cart and sit down to take a few minutes to calm down. Then I look at my list and see what else there is to get then i go up to the cashier. Yes Cheyenne you should be proud of yourself from what you have accomplished. Great learning technique of rounding up to the nearest dollar. Keep up to good work.

At some point I recommend making the ravioli shells from that Raddish Kids recipe. It is a bit hard for a big family like yours though. Regardless they are so good fresh and are lots of fun to make! You did an amazing job shopping Cheyenne!

Some stores do quiet hours with no music or announcements etc. Also remember you can always ask a staff member or go to customer service desk

    Hello from Scotland.
Great job. Supermarkets can sometimes be stressful, even for adults who have done it many times before. I actually try my hardest to avoid a supermarket and get a home delivery. Your foods are so expensive wow. That tally mark is an Amazing idea - think I will use it for me and am 39 lol my kids can use it too. X

You’re teaching wonderful life skills! My daughter gets stressed out about clothes shopping when there’s too many options or when she’s not finding what she wants. She also has opinions on shopping so I can’t just pick out her clothes for her. She’s doesn’t have special needs it can happen to anyone! I have her take a deep breath to calm down and try on the clothes we did find and then look again!

Unfortunately we have also found getting support to be an ongoing challenge and the only thing we have been able to do is keep trying, I will leave a message and if they don’t reply I will call back the next day then if I haven’t received a reply within a few days of daily messages I will try and contact the persons supervisor or manager. You and your Mom are going need to be strong advocates for yourself and be very persistent. Good luck I hope you receive the services you deserve!

Don't worry, sometimes Grocery shopping can be overwhelming sometimes. The store can be loud, busy and music blaring while we are trying to figure out things and it can be stressful sometimes but that is good you found a place in the store that is calmer to help you relax a bit and get the job done. Great job Cheyenne!

Cheyenne, I'm a grown woman and the supermarket still stresses me out. Too loud, too bright, too many other humans.
I try to go in quiet times but sometimes that can't be managed and I get overwhelmed, so I take time outs too...
    Supermarket's can suck.

Do the kids go with you regularly to the supermarket. It would help to know areas, what you normally get and the routine of it. I saw on another channel you can look up the aisle location of something at your local Walmart online

  • @mustlovedogs5569
    @mustlovedogs5569 2 роки тому

If the kids go with you regularly and learn where you start and track through the store ie...fruit and veg then leads to cold and frozen at the end and see the different brands that you normally buy they may become more familiar with it

Good job Cheyenne! The first time anyone goes grocery shopping by themselves or when they’re responsible for it, it’s always a bit of a shock.
“My list says milk..but do I get skim, low fat, whole? Chocolate? Soy? Almond? Etc.” so overwhelming but you did awesome! Can’t wait to see the finished product 💛
