I think one more iteration of this device will make a difference. I could certainly see using this on a day to day basis. Great video!
The laptop shape peeked at 1 screen + 1 keyboard + 1 hinge, all connected.
Other than the "all connected", this meets the rest. :-P
Just like flip phone design peaked with a screen, keypad, and simple yet classy outer shell.

that is a terrible ergonomics my friend and that is why most people carry a laptop stand and external set of peripherals like a wireless keboard and mouse to have the screen at the right height for your sight and the keyboard at the right height for your arms.
In this way you can use this laptop in a workshop hang the screen on the wall at your eyesight height and the keyboard on the table and move it independently of the screen. There is a maker that made a mod for the framework 13 to be able to do this, and with this thinkpad you have the Lenovo quality.
@@laughingvampire7555 Wut? “Most people carry a laptop stand and…keyboard and mouse”? I know extraordinarily few people that carry an external keyboard around with them, and nobody that carries all three of those around with them.

It does look very sick, I'm currently using the x-13 yoga which is pretty awesome but I do find the screen a bit small. The last thinkpad I had which suddenly died was a 14 inch, I can see that this 16-in screen would be absolutely awesome. The only issue is that set up each time opening up, getting the kick stand out, pulling the keyboard out etc I know these are all small things but they add up. The x13 is amazing for the portability and the screen is also amazing... So I'm not sure whether it's really worth upgrading for this 16-in fold or not...

I can only imagine this form factor with the Snapdragon X Elite processors once those come out. Add the new dual direction fold technology so it can be folded either way and become a smaller tablet if needed and I am all for the form factor. Would be interesting to see a display on the top when it's closed similar to making a Pixel Fold into a large latop. Another great video! 😊

why is such an expensive device using 12gen and not the core ultra line? also not having the keyboard and stand lincluded in the lowest tier seems... cheap? at glance seems like an interesting alternative to the 2024 zenbook duo but these choises + x2 the price seems like a hard sell
I wonder how many people will want to purchase the bluetooth keyboard on it's own.
forget about the kickstand and get a real laptop stand liken one of those for macbooks that raises the laptop completely

unfortunate , soldered storage and / or ram are absolute show stoppers.
Storage is upgradable, just not the soldered ram.
