I don’t know how to really describe it, but whenever I listen to Alice, I get the same feeling as when you start falling in love. A sort of constant daydream, where nothing in life is as important and as pure as the feelings you feel so strongly in your heart. A certain longing, but I am not sure what for. Whatever it is, I’d like to stay in it for as long as I can, thank you Alice! 💙

It’s a combination of delays and alternating use of different vocalisation methods, it’s usually seen in rhythm centric rock/jazz/r&b by a few exquisite vocalists who consistently seek variations in the same piece through different eras
But Alice doesn’t use percussions as much so it sounds more personal and without pretentious over abundance of techniques

Said it before so I'll say it again. IMHO Alice Phoebe Lou is the most underrated singer songwriter in the world!! It will always baffle me how she hasn't achieved superstardom, especially when we hear some examples of who have 🤔
Am I crazy to hear a little Dave Matthews influence here? That pocket, chord fragments, etc. Obviously less focus on beats and more on melody, but still...

She was my first memory from Berlin performing at Warschauer Straße station
She does that every summer in Berlin (free concerts) love it
Saw her in Seattle in 2022 and teared up when she opened the show with “Only when I.” Her voice that night still gives me the chills 💕

Met her busking in Berlin on April 2015 and bought her a CD. Great to see where she got.
