I'm so glad I stumbled upon this. Definitely having issues with the thumb as well. Web is sore and developed a internal bruise(bump). Finger nail is also bruising. Pretty sure thats from my grip. Could a long thumb hole also cause that issue?

The base of my thumb hurts when bowling. Perhaps by thumb hole is too big. Is it better to plug and redrill or just add a thumb insert? Thanks! Great video

The pro shops I go to make the thumb hole to big. My thumb is oval, no round, but when they fit my they go with the sides and when they open it up, I have to use allot of tape. I just started using a golf glove and said the heck with it

Same! I just got back into bowling after 9 years and found out in a wacky thumb. Got a new ball and fit and it’s night and day. I’m a lie rev and speed bowler but now I’m actually getting better at both and actually throwing the ball correctly for once.
Back then I adapted and mainly lived off being good at spares. How I’m actually striking and bowled at least one game above 220 each week. Just recently bowled a 243 and got my first 600 series in ages.

The top of my thumb on the bottom left side of my nail callouses and often bleeds after bowling, hope to remedy this.

I tuck my pinky and keep it close to my ring finger so I get bruising on my first knuckle of the pinky every once in a while the callous get torn off and I have to tape my finger until it heals. I’ve dealt with that for years lol.

so on the tip of my thumb it keeps getting blood blisters and when they go away i bowl for one day and it wouldn't come back but when i go bowl the next day and it comes back, what could that be from?

That sounds like a pitch issue or improper oval angle.
