Saw 4 Himalayan riders literally crying and repairing punctures during ladakh trip.
All were solo, I was solo on Dominar,
Leh to Nyoma, did with a huge and thick steel screw embedded in my rear tyre.
Came to know of screw at karu petrol pump.
Imagine it is your 15th day Solo, evening 4 pm in mountains, and a Himalayan with puncture .
East or west Himalayan is best near your home with puncture shopwala nearby.

North to South, East to West, or in any direction, Triumph 400X is the most practical, except unavailability of service centres and seat height adjustability, of course. This is from my 32 years of riding experience. Period. This comparison of Bulu Bhai is 99% true for me.

Totally agree with your views. I own a scrambler. In fact, I also had booked both scrambler and Himalayan. Because of the fact that Himalayan comes with tube tyres and I'll have only one machine in my garage which has to do at least 60% city ride, I choose Scrambler.

Very honest review 👍.. Himalayan costs 2.85 to 2.98 lacs ex showroom now.. Add on to it proper mod for alloys & tubeless tyres to have first level peace of mind!!..
Already Bangalore on road price would be 3.75 to 3.90!!.. Plus tyre mod of about 30-40K.. Easily over 4 lacs!!..
You get Speed400 for just 3.1 lacs on road Bangalore!..
Until you are crazy about offroad.. It doesn't make sense to pay 1 lac over a bike Speed 400..

Agreed! Scrambler is the best all rounder and more fun to ride on city, easy to navigate, low and mid end torque is awesome. Himalayan is good for touring, which we only do 5% for general rider.

Bulu bhai, I loved what you said about contentment creators being biased about himalayan. Superb honest statements as Always. I sold my Adv 390 after 3500kms due to low end torque issue and poor suspension and bought the scrambler 400x. Best decision I ever made. Feels great

Took a test ride of Scrambler and Himalayan back to back, while forcing the Himalayan fan inside me to be objective,i must admit that Bullu is absolutely right. Along with everything he said, when you compare both bikes side by side himalyan feels and looks atleast 50k cheaper than scrambler while in actuals Scrambler is the cheaper bike and also felt RE has gotten greedy with the pricing. Himalyan does have a charm and lots of character but Scrambler is sturdy, elegant, rides better in City, surprisingly better VFM and just makes sense as a do it all bike. My father( a hard core bullet fan) couldn't believe when I told him that Triumph was the cheaper one( also Not to discount the attractive 5.07% interest rate on Triumph bikes while paying 55%+ down payment)
    Decision time:
Heart was with himalyan and mind was with Scrambler, took the tough but practical decision of renting either one of the bikes when required(for trips)and ditched the plan of buying. Will save up for next 2-3 more years and go for the bigger Himalyan 852 when it gets launched. Don't expect it to be perfect but that will be the worthy successor of mighty Him 411.

Finally someone said the truth..and as always it's bullu bhai.
Unnecessary hype for himalayan. I have owned bs6 2021 himalayan and that bike made me cry for 2 years. I have been to service centre for almost 40times. Problem with Enfield is they don't have big issues. Issue are as small as relay and fuse and battery problem. But it just keep coming back.
Triumph with Bajaj has put up a beautiful bike which one can seriously consider.
And yes 99% of UA-cam are biased towards himalayan.
Yes it's a great product and a big step ahead but it's not the end of world as they are portraying.
Within just month of lauch they have hiked the price by 15k which clearly proves the point that they have taken their loyal customer for granted.
Every single thing you have to purchase.
100% agree with bullu bhai 🎉

After watching all the review videos, I would say Dominar 400 can still be considered as a good motorcycle if it comes to daily commute & highway cruising. D400 is 3.07L on road Bengaluru incl all accessories. Him450 incl all accessories would be near 4L. The console is a color TFT screen in Him & torque is just 5Nm more than D400. Bas 5Nm torque ke liye spending 1Lakh extra is no good as per what I understood. Him has better tank range but also makes it heavy. Being a short guy, its very difficult to pick it up from side stand.

I fully agree with your views. Royal Enfield is a cheater and cheaper mentality company. I have their interceptor 650. I booked Himalayan. After sale they don’t bother to know what happened to the buyer. Except tyres and tank they want to sell everything as accessories. Service centres are everywhere, but ultimately you have to tow it their service centre. My interceptor has an habit of dying in the middle of the road and no CPR would revive it. And on each of death they took months together to return. Now I have to rethink whether to buy the hyped Himalayan or not. The service centres such as Niran motor’s Mangalore treats the customers like beggars

Truly appreciate Bubu bhai's comments regarding availability of spoked wheels without tube . During my MBA days ,30 years back I had presented a paper suggesting the dealers for providing the options to swap the spoked wheels with Mag wheels etc by paying the differential amount . Customers should have the option for customization either from the manufacturers or dealers instead of buying things which will be replaced as per preferences, which sadly has not yet been offered. Kudos for the unbiased review ❤

Well said bullu bhai, exactly what i felt about these both bike and at this 22:03 point you cracked the truth behind the social media influences.
When i was confused which motorcycle to buy at period 2018 to 2019 most of your videos helped me purchase the best fit and also close to my decision also, so i brought dominar 400; there are some drawbacks on that motorcycle but still doing some upgrades fixed it.
Now I'm not interested to go for another motorcycle because my upgraded dominar helps to good extent.

Great honest opinion bulu bhai! You spoke the reality. RE is mostly focusing on their business. They are completely money minded now. New prices of Himalayan just blew my mind. When a big brand like triumph launched at attractive price. Dont know how RE is so confident with respect to thier prices despite the competition. May be because of paid UA-camrs, marketing and promotions 😂😂

    Intelligent and meaningful conversation.
I am riding Classic 500 and now I am aiming for 400X and the reason behind is that 1st the spoke wheels of Himalayan 450, 2nd the nimble nature of 400X, 3rd as a single bike garage I feel 400 X will serve my purpose better with 80% of daily commute and 20% occasional long distance rides.
The only blocker for 400X is the dealership is 200 kms away from my place.
Should I take the chance of owning a bike without a dealer nearby? ( Once a year I can manage service there)
Or should I stick to the companies with dealer present in my city like RE and may be check there GR 450?

Also being thunderbird owner i didnt like the RE quality. Today my dominar has clocked 45k kms without a single rupee spent on repairs. And now that i am changing my bike again its himalayan vs scrambler 400 again. No doubt i will be going for scram 400. Both are good. But you decide whats good for you.

If one can have a scooty for the city commutes and let's say the tubeless spokes are available tomorrow, would you say the Himalayan is a much better bike than scrambler? I think the wide handlebars of the scrambler would be a hindrance in the city.
Also, what are basic plastic knuckle guards helpful for? They dont protect the levers, which anyways break only from the ends.

    • @BuluBiker
      @BuluBiker  11 місяців тому +1

Yes then Himalayan is a better bike for sure.
Plastic knuckle guards protect ur knuckles when some other vehicle hit from right n they also stop from accidental hit of ur front brake lever while u r on the move n some vehicle hit on ur right side handlebar, they take the shock of the accident n break thats exactly what they r meant to do (not many people under that)
Exactly why even advs worth 20lakhs plus like Africa twin comes with plastic guards only.

Currently, I have a 2020 Classic 350. I plan to upgrade it, but I am confused between the Himalayan 450, Scrambler 400X, and Guerilla 450. RE exchange cost is 1.4 lakh; because of this revaluation cost, I’m able to upgrade it. So, please advise on this.

Ive shifted from classic 350 to scrambler 400x . Whatever bulu bhai said , I have experienced the same regarding the functionality of the 400x. Its a sad thing ive to go 240kms for service centre but rest in city and for 50-50 highway tours i felt my investment was worth it. Ive booked himalayan 450 too but since my delivery was late i went for the triumph. I am planning to purchase the Himalayan too for long tours in coming the month. But when the scrambler is loaded with luggage the bike stays on the ground during bumps feels extremely pleasant to ride.

I guess the ground clearance of 195 mm is more than sufficient for indian road conditions and even for Ladakh terrains. In that case I don't think you need to go with the Himalayan when your requirements are getting fulfilled with the 400X. Rest is up to you. But what made you to book Himalayan as well? May I know the reason. Are you comfortable at 100-120 kmph cruising on 400x and how is the fuel efficiency at that speed and also how much evident are the vibrations at those high speeds? I would be glad if you reply me. Cheers.😃😃

Bhai I sold my reborn classic 350 recently....and I am too planning for a Speed or Scrambler....my nearest showroom is also 200kms away from my home 😂. So there are similarities with you! Can you please guide me on the following things -
      1. Does scrambler feel like as heavier as the new classic 350 in real life? Does it also feel difficult to push it backwards when it is in parking?
      2. My height is 5ft7in. How my height is going to be felt on Scrambler with respect to Classic?
      3. How is the mileage with respect to Classic. Actual difference when you ride on 6th gear at 60-70kmph speed.
      4. Difference on comfort. Because I hate stiff suspension set up as RE bikes are offering now.
Please put some valuable insights. Thank you in advance!😊 Jai Hind

@@suryateja2k11 100-120 is a bliss compared to my older bike. Can overtake easily. Fuel economy is really bad. It shows 25kmpl but i guess is lesser, why? Because my home is like 240-250 km away from where i am posted currently and i didn’t reached home at 10 ltrs of tank. I required like around 2-3 ltrs extra. And vibrations are there once you reach 150kmph at 6th gear and like 10000rpm. Here the Himalayan gets the lead incase of rpm. My hands were tired after few minutes. So i guess it performs more than enough at 100-120 mark and is also a good cruising speed.
I’ve booked the Himalayan at first. RE is RE for real bike was getting late . It has still not arrived yet. So i took a test drive of the scrambler too , my city got a brand new triumph showroom for the first time, got excited for that too. Triumph has been a childhood dream moreover needed a bike for office ASAP 😅 i sold my classic few months back for the new Himalayan only but fate had other plans. One more thing i noticed regarding this bike, after long rides RE bikes chain gets loose. I need to tighten my 350,s chain constantly after rides. I am not getting that issue here.
I am loving the bike so much no number plate yet . It’s only like 15-20 days completed 2000kms already.

    • @priyambo
      @priyambo 11 місяців тому

@@Enigmatic123 1.The scrambler feels lighter but that dosent means it is like ktms. Triumph has done a good work regarding quality and placement of components, trust me you don’t want to open the tank its a puzzle inside there. And try pushing youre bike in neutral , not while pulling the clutch in gear it helps me alot trust me. Somehow makes the bike lighter
      2. Even i am of the same height almost, 1 inch shorter i can place my toe on both legs. Try balancing one leg it will be much easier , you wont feel the slanting of the bike.
      3. If you’re thinking about mileage with this bike, then it wont help you. Classic has better mileage. I get around 23kmpl.😭
      4. Comfort is excellent for rider. Pillion seat is good and comfortable as well but scary sudden throttle might scare the pillion. 😆
