so true, i am working on my recovery it's not easy because i have to go out of the house and go for a bike ride or a walk or go grocery shopping. Sometimes my heart is racing so bad or i feel weak or whatever symptoms arise. I just tell myself whatever just let it be if something bad happens which it has not since the past 4 years i dealt with anxiety then someone will find me or see and help me. For know i am just going to keep doing whatever i amd doing the best i can with all these feelings. My bike rides are becoming a little longer and i am not doing my most of my compulsions anymore like putting my fingers in my neck to feel me heart rate. For the first time in a long while i have the sense of feeling "normal" again. And thats all because i am stopping the listing to the scary thoughts and feelings. I still have a long way to go but i am getting it that the only way out is paying less attention to all the thoughts and feelings. Not ignoring but saying to yourself he yeah this sucks but i can handle it

Ive been in the cycle for 10years im 25 now. I never got a chance to live i've been just surviving. I've been doing nothing, not fixing and exercising for almost two weeks now. Im not accepting for my symptoms for them to go away i let them be there all in the name of practising the right response which i feel like ive been doing correctly for months now but, my symptoms just dont give me even a 2min a break.
Instead my heart tension, pain and skipped beats are getting worse. Mostly when i get into my bed and when im driving thats where my heart literally becomes So tense it feels like a stone that starts dancing around my left chest area i can literally feel my heart hardening and pausing. And i get really short breath and no sensation of my heart beating. My whole body feels light and nose gets blocked. At times i feel like im breathing with my heart not my lungs. These happen all at once.
Even when im busy all that's in my head is my symtoms. Yes i acknowledge they are there and i dont try avoiding thinking about them for them to go away but im thinking about anxiety too much all day even when doing things that needs my full attention. it feels like i have an extra brain that its sole purpose is thinking about anxiety and feeling it.
I've seen all the types of doctors you can think of and i dont have any problem believing its anxiety. But my nerves dont even take a break abit to atleast appreciate the work im doing and give me a hint that im doing it right.

This may sound odd but there is science behind it. Put on one of your favorite podcasts and start cycling or walking. As you do this toss a ball back and forth. This will give you a break because you can't maintain the fear response while you're focused intently. The key is to divert your mind consistently to reduce the fear response.
