Even with the RT at low and a mix of high / medium at 1440p with dlss at ~60% it was hard to get a decent enough framerate to activate frame gen. Now i'm at 4k, no raytracing, mix of high / cinematic, dlss at 50% and i get 60 fps without frame gen, and 90-100 with it.
4090 user here. I'm hitting a low average of 85fps and average around 100 using cinematic with Max RT at 4k DLSS performance+frame gen. This is the most demanding game yet, but that was to be expected with path tracing and UE5 Nanite rendering: the micro details are staggering, a step above cyberpunk. The textures could definitely use some work though. Vram usage maxes out at 13ish GB so there's definitely room for hi res texture packs. There is something about the visuals here that make the whole game look like one of those ultra realistic dioramas.
It really is a fantastic looking game, and it performs about as well as you'd expect. The scaling between presets is very decent when it comes to performance so while it's not the easiest game to run it can still look decent on Medium / High, which improves the framerate quite a bit. Some technical issues here and there but overall a game I think I can enjoy.
I played on 1080P thinking it'll make up for bad optimization but turning to 1440P really fixed everything Now I constantly get 60 FPS with DLSS & FG Mod Everyone should try the DLSS to FSR3 FG mod universal to unlock FG in 30 series card.
ive got a 3080 10gig and found the best settings for me was 3440x1440 with fsr and frame gen on and run most settings on very high and cinematic, and get around 90-110 fps
Using 21:9 instead of 16:9 aspect ratio has quite a nice performance improvement at times. That's actually pretty decent though, 100 fps is a really good experience in this game.

Thank you for stopping by and commenting, much appreciated. I think a 3080 Ti is actually the sweet spot here for 1440p, and will definitely perform quite a bit better at 4K than the regular 3080. Frame gen is a bit of hit and miss in this one as you need it to get a high framerate but on the other hand input latency is higher than I'd like. Have a great day and hope you enjoy the game!
Its time to set back monitors to 1080p, if you dont have 4090. UE 5.x are not for this gen cards for sure, when nanite and lumen are engaged in full, not mention it works better with DX11, than DX12 how is that possible for most advanced game engine out there.
It depends on if you can get a high enough base framerate. For me, anything below 60 fpsnI wouldnt use FG. But if you can get around there with DLAA then it would be a pretty good experience with FG on.
Unfortunately FSR frame gen is not decoupled from FSR upscaling here, and FSR has some visible issues, so the image quality does take a hit. If you have a 40-series Nvidia GPU I'd recommend DLSS FG over FSR FG for this game.
@@Rakansaleh95 It's not the worst image quality, but there is some pretty bad ghosting. Just make sure to play around with motion blur as too much also cause a lot of ghosting.

I'm experiencing significant screen tearing when moving the camera in this game, even though I'm running it on a 3080 Ti with a 5950X. The graphics look jagged, grainy, and dim to me, which is disappointing given the hardware I'm using. I know this game can look stunning with top-tier hardware, but in my opinion, if you care about graphics, this game might not be worth buying. However, what I see as flaws might not bother you as much.
You are right to point this out. Game has some frametime issues and a lot of oversharpening. The frametime issues is probably what's causing your "tearing" issue. It actually duplicates frames at times, which looks horrible. There is a sharpening mod you can use to solve the oversharpness and to be honest it looks much better!

Game is not CPU heavy at all. A 12400F matches a 7800X3D even with a 4090 at 1080p. And even in games that are CPU heavy you'd want to use as strong a CPU as possible as I am showing GPU performance, not CPU performance.
I have everything on preset low, dlss on 25, RT Off, 3440x1440 and i for the life of me cannot get above 20 fps now that im in chaoter 2 even returning to the chapter 1 area now im still stuck at super low unplayable fps.
Frame generation is ok with 80+ fps with generated frames in every game except esports competitive games. I don't know where 120+ standard comes from lol

@@JohnnyBg2905 As I said, for you it might be fine. To me the input latency is a bit too much, and I explained why I said that. I always aim for at least 60 fps before enabling frame generation otherwise the input latency is too high. You can use whichever settings feel the best to you. It's just my opinion.
Shadows and reflections both have issues when PT isnt being used. Commented on it in my previous video as well and it can look pretty bad. Hooed they would fix it in the full game, but nope, here we are 😔

I just saw a 30 minute gameplay video on 4090 4k DLSS + FG and it ran 60-80fps with bad frame pacing and at some moments it completely shitted itself, meaning it got to 50fps with huge stutters and unplayable performance. This is funny to watch...

Furthermore, smearing is reduced a bit but shimmering on trees stays to the scale where it is distracting for me least. Ironically, DLDSR isn't working either, no clue as to why.
@@RagssssssSomeone has made a Black Myth Wukong Sharpening fix already to fix tree and game over sharpens. It's a INI file you put in game directory can prob google and find it. Its also on my twitter feed but shouldn't be too hard to find via googling either.
It has FSR 3.0, which is basically just FSR 2.x upscaling with FSR Frame Generation. FSR 3.1 is where FSR FG is decoupled from FSR and also has improved image quality. Hopefully they implement this soon!

It's demanding for sure but it's not unoptimised. The graphics/performance scaling in this game is pretty great, where you're able to leave more than half your settings on cinematic without losing performance is telling of that (View distance, shadows and GI are the most performance heavy while the others you can leave on cinematic). The traversal stutters however is a thing which seems to plague almost every single UE5 game that has released, i'm hoping they can fix them but i don't think they will be able to.
@@mercury4587 Yeah, I agree it's a very heavy game. UE is synonymous with traversal stutter so it will probably be with us until the end of days haha! Just some technical issues they could improve, like the frame times spiking consistently at times, requiring a reboot, and if they could implement FSR 3.1 that would be great. Generally when a game scales well with graphics settings it shows decent optimization, at least in that regards, and here the difference in frame rate is quite big between the presets.
A 3080 is definitely mid-range today. It's about as fast as a 4070, and a 4070 falls right in the middle of the range. It was high-end when it released 4 years ago.
Got my 3080 In 2020 it was high-end. Not anymore due to these type of heavy games and 4k still not being standard. Just like how the 20/10 series is low-end now. 4090 will prob remain high-range but anything below that will prob be mid-range when the 50 series comes out. Who knows by the time 60 series comes out the 4090 could be mid-range too at that point.

And with regards to the 3080, it's slightly behind in feature sets and VRAM than a 4070, but let's say it's a 4070. The 40 series goes 4060, 4060 Ti 8GB, 4060 Ti 16GB, 4070, 4070 Super, 4070 Ti, 4070 Ti Super, 4080, 4080 Super and 4090. So you have 3 GPUs slower than it, but 6 GPUs faster than it, but 70 class GPUs have always been considered mid-range, because we mainly had 50, 60, 70 and 80 class GPUs. Now we have 90 class as well so 70 class falls perfectly in the middle.

First of all, update DLSS Version to newest 3.7.20.xx and get a huge fps boost. My 4090 got 25 fps avg and 44 max fps on top.
I updated to the latest driver and newest DLSS and saw a difference of around 1%, so margin of error. What are your specs?
Showing a last gen card with a current gen cpu. Defs not what most people have equipped with their 3080. I myself use the 12600k.
All my GPU benchmarks are done with this CPU. It's about the GPU, not CPU.

Yeah agreed, if you have a 4K monitor those are the settings to use. It runs well and looks great!

Yeah, something is not 100% here with the FSR implementation. It's very oversharpened as well, which makes it look worse.

You cant use DLSS Frame Generation on a 3080, you have to switch to FSR first and then enable Frame Generation.

There's lot of smearing for me....and trees have worst shimmering I have seen in a while, I'm on 1440p, using DLSS Q + Very High + PT + FG on 4090.
Yeah I noticed that in the benchmark tool last week as well. Hoped it would be sorted in the full game but apparently not.
