Ontario Knife Works makes these in their own Factory in the United States! They were also a supplier to the government during World War II. They're running about 85 bucks a piece. They are great knives I purchased one a few months ago and they are marked so you will know them from an original, of which I have several. Did I mention they were made in THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?
I heard Ontarios are built cheaper than the bokers. Maybe Ontario intention is to have these as collection and they also look like the originals unlike bokers
Ontario was a US supplier in ww2, but they did not make this model at that time. Boker, as far as I know in Solingen, did. They are the only brand in some capacity still making them since ww2. If they made them in Germany the cost would be that of ww2 originals. Case could be making them as a continuation model, but isn't. Nobody else from the original ww2 contract runs is still in business.
I had one of these as a teenager, but with the black plastic similar to the M16’s bayonet, but without the ring and clip. I used it as a Scout camp knife, and, to honest, it was dreadful, but really cool! I swapped it with my dorm mate for a Karrimor rucksack. I got a lot of use out of that for a good 20 years or more, but I still miss that knife!
"Its been raining for a couple days" OMG THAT SOUNDS LIKE HEAVEN! It hasnt rained in like a month in Germany where i live, and its hitting 100f im most places x______X
I had 2 Ontario M3 trench knives but never had a Boker M3. I sold my OKC's and I definitely regret it so I found a place here in Canada that still has it in stock. None of my Ontario M3's ever rattled so I think I'll take it over the Boker.
I recently bought a Boker tactical folding knife that was made in China. I was surprised at how well made it is. It is sharp. It feels as sturdy as a Benchmade. Boker must have found the best knife making factory in China. The only thing that would have made it better would be push button open/close. A nice plus is that nowhere on the knife does it say "Made In China". That being said, this Boker Poker might not be a bad knife to have.
Yep mudslinger is correct. $100 for a China made knife when I can buy a USA made Ontario or another Kabar for the same or less is a deal breaker. At least most of Cold Steels knives are made in Taiwan not China
I bought one of these a while back. I don't like the scabbard so I bought a leather sheath for it. I am wondering how you would recommend sharpening a trench knife like this. I haven't used it at all.
You should get 1-2 citronella plants and put out there. I go to Lowes and get 2 every spring for my deck, one for each end. Misketos wont come near them so I have none on my 20+foot wide deck. They are only about $15 each.
I keep a small jar of Vicks Vapo Rub in my shooting kit; I don't mind the smell, and skeeters don't seem to like it. Cheaper and less hassle than a gadget with pads and batteries, too.
I don't have an actual garage, just a "portable garage" which essentially is just a canopy with sidewalls a zipper door and a back cover. I ride motorcycles, so, a 10 x 17 is fine for my needs, giving me extra space to work and store stuff. Enough getting off topic. I swear, one day I seen a butterfly sized mosquito. It was. Man, I thought I was going to get lucky for a quick picture because it was inside the garage (the "door" was open) by the time I took my phone out, that thing was gone. No one will ever believe me and I don't I'll see it again. There are some fly sized ones occasionally, but, Its not the same.
The guard is expected to be well fixed after the handle is soaked in for example..(better find out sort of oil)paraffin oil and the skin will stretch..and the guard became sturdy...pitty it was not oiled after buying...knife handle is built to be oiled deeply...
You could use your old camera to film you futzing with your new camera for additional content, I think. You might have to edit for language, but I bet it'd be a hoot. Glad to see you're getting it figured out, Bryan. Take care.
I've been REALLY busy with my plumbing business, a basement remodel and life in general and I have backed way off of UA-cam the last 2 or 3 months. I'm working to get back on track very soon.
Most likely in this case China=Taiwan. Btw, welcome to the design. I have a Camilus M3 and M4, M5, M6 and M7 Bayonets in my collection from different contractors. They all rattle at the hilt.
The video is great. I love the looks of that knife and it isn’t bad for the price. I’ve looked into the ka-bars and they seem to lean more toward a Bowie knife rather than a tactical knife though they do their job well. I just really like the looks of that boker
Boker Poker! I cracked up when I saw that in your thumbnail! They need to make a knife called The Poker! 😂 All joking aside, this knife looks sweet! I think I’ll add it to my wants list.
I have one but it was a gift from a Marine friend of mine and it was personalized for me. It's one of t he very few knives I have that I won't use. I reached out to Kabar a while back but they have not responded. I can't buy $70 knives just to review. The math doesn't work with a channel my size.
@@Cheaps928 I don't own these knives, but if I had to choose between a Chinese made one and a U.S made knife, clearly I'd go with the made in the USA one.
What was with the constant rattle from the knife? Is the guard loose? Something in loose. if it rattled out of the box then it's junk. A knife that rattles is not something I would carry or trust.
That rattling you hear was the finger guard rattling against the Tang of the blade. That pretty much means that the leather washers, if they were real leather, we're not set down properly on the finger guard. Sometimes that happens to Vintage World War II M3s if the leather is very very dry the leather contracts. An easy fix for that is some saddle soap and leather conditioner to help the leather expand again and then it will set firmly against the guard. Just my two cents worth somebody else we'll have something different to say I'm sure.
China?... China made? Or China assembled? Looks nice, that is some awesome steel though. Just not a fan of knives with things that get loose or rattles. Good vid Bryan. Lucky skunk.😜

The sheath for that knife is the type which the military used during WWII and beyond and I would buy that knife if it can pass the test you are going to do with it on your stump. The steel knife must be American made and I want to get one of those type's and was looking at the Ka-Bar brand instead due to the way their's are built and the reviews I saw on their knife. The video seem to great and the that knife is designed for military use. I don't have any Boker knives, but do have several other named brand knives of various types. I hear that the Ka-Bar brand knife does rattle like that one does and their's are American made and I would not want to buy another Chinese brand knife as I already have two Schrade knives made in China and a German brand knife made in China also. Most of my knives are American made and I want to stick with supporting our companies instead.
That is the hand guard and that is probably from banging it up and doing stuff it was not designed to do. This is a fighting knife design, not a wood knife.
