love your vids..bought a 9 & a 37 after watching your reviews on both. got a good laugh after your pronounciation comment. I am fluent in english and spanish. Top quality full circle...have the non-coated no. 9.
FYI; There are a whole bunch of unhappy people surfing social media just LOOKING for something to get offended about...they're called "trolls". As in, trolling for a fight. I just learned this a few months ago.
Love the channel and videos. I am from Spain and yes the "J" is pronounced like an "H" but no offense taken. Spanish speaking folk have butchered English as well so lets give each other a break. You are so correct as to assume we ALL have bigger things to worry or complain about. Keep em coming. By the way, as a northerner I love your accent!
Hello from Oklahoma! Good video! Love your knife review videos! You've done a bunch of them. Most of us find them interesting and useful. Haters gonna hate, no matter what. Thanks for all you do! God Bless!!!
These knives are made in Spain by J&V Cuchillos (J&V Knives). It is a well known cutlery in Albacete, a city like Solingen, Sheffield or Monago, with an old tradition manufacturing all type of knives. I suppose that GeoTec is the brand used to sell these edged weapons in Amazon.
Bryan, I’m Canadian how you pronounce the name is how I pronounce the name. It someone who spoke Spanish told me the proper way I’d say it that way. As for the metric it doesn’t bother me one bit. It’s been my experience if people can find something to complain about they will.
I bought one of these around 2-3 years ago and it has been a damn good knife so far. The only thing I dont care for is the price(expensive), but you get what you pay for. I really like the sheath, very good tooling and quality.
I'm an Italian living in Italy, and I'd pronounce the name more or less just like you do. As for the metric joke, well you'd be hard pressed to be offended by such an innocent joke. As long as you give me the dimensions in metric too, I'm good :) That sai, i do consider the metric sistem easier use (maybe it's just because it's the one I'm used to).
Yes people get way to offended anymore . Ready to make a fight for anything . I think you do a good job!. The next knife you should do a review on is the Buck GCK knife. (Ground Combat Knife) It’s Bucks attempt at deferent types of steel . It’s 5160 high carbon steel .
With obvious limitations a knife should do what needs to be done when it needs to be done. Nowadays nylon sheaths seem to be so cheaply made that I would prefer a leather sheath. The one with this knife looks really nice. The last good nylon sheath I got with a knife was the one that came with an original Gerber BMF knife.
I love watching the “balance” test. Since you seem to be pretty experienced at throwing knives, do you know effective that would really be in any kind of self defense situation? How well would it it penetrate clothing? Have there been any tests like with ballistic gel? I know thats not a great test but usually the only thing available.
I just recently purchased the Jeo Tec no9 model and I don't like the slick black grip they put on it. I can't find anything to replace it with on their site or Amazon. I really like this knife but it's very slick to grip onto.
There's no problem about the pronunciation. I think it's normal you speak foreign languages with your own rules of pronunciation and have little mistakes. Regards from a Spanish bushcrater and god bless you and America.
Great and enjoyable review. I always look forward to brewing a great cup of coffee and sitting down to watch your Sharp Saturday Series. Bryan, if you decide to become a rapper, you might want to consider the stage name "Fatwood B" as it seems appropriate...sorry, bad joke. I've been wanting to see a review on this knife for some time. Before I bought a couple of Esee knives I looked at this on Amazon but this one with the micarta scales, the black finish and the black sheath, looks so much better. I agree that the finger choil needs redesigning. One slip and the choil finger could be badly sliced if not partially amputated. As far as fatwood, that's my favorite, that and birch bark. I buy fatwood by the box from Walmart and put one or two pieces in each of my survival kits or in a separate fire kit. In some grocery stores you can find fatwood in the BBQ section...amazing tinder and the aroma sure beats dirty socks and under clothing.
You offended me by not offending me. lol jk. I really liked how you performed this review in your state-of-the-art testing facility. That knife took a serious beating and no matter how you pronounce the name it surely does the job!
What practical usage does that knife accommodate that a $20 (+/-) MoraKniv can't? That's my benchmark. If I'm paying orders of magnitude more for a knife, it has to do something the MoraKniv can't do to be a sensible purchase.
Got a morakniv bushcraft black yesterday and at first was disappointed as it looks too small,it is not that cheap here but today I am trying to come to come to terms with it and hope it turns out great, especially for rough use
@Norse Woodman Been camping all my life. Starting as an infant in the 60's tent camping with my family. Been camping/hiking/backpacking ever since. I know full well what to expect out of all sorts of gear. It's quite likely I've forgotten about more gear than you've ever used. And I've had more than my share of wasting money on gear early on and have learned my lessons from doing so. So believe me when I say that paying exorbitant prices for a very simple blade that offers no significant advantage to a lower priced blade is foolish. It's a tool with a defined purpose. There is nothing magical about a $130 knife that you can't accomplish with a $20 knife -- unless you have a very specific or uncommon use that a certain blade profile/weight/length is required for or makes the job FAR easier AND you can't find that oddball blade at a reasonable cost (which you usually can). The most common reason for paying a hundred(S) or more for a blade, that I have seen, is simply "ego". And there's nothing wrong with stroking your own ego with a collection of expensive gear if that's your joy. But most folks are better served by pointing them to much more affordable, adequate, solidly serviceable gear that they can buy multiples of, for the price of one "ego stroking" item that give them no other significant advantage.
@Norse Woodman What makes you think I'm asking for knife advice? Because I follow interesting youtubers? I'm merely sharing my ample, practical experience using knives. And as far as knife materials go, can you name ANY significant, consequential difference between the materials used in the $130 knife in the video and a $20 MoraKniv (or most any other similar quality knife) without blowing smoke up our rear-ends? We're not comparing a $20 pan to a $2 pan, we're comparing two perfectly acceptable knives at two widely disparate price points. So please stop being intellectually dishonest. If you have even basic knife skills (easily learned) and you don't excessively abuse your equipment (which it sounds like you've admitted to), then you CERTAINLY don't have to sharpen every night. My knives see plenty of hard, but appropriate use when camping and I only sharpen when needed, which has never been every night. Perhaps stop banging your blade against rocks, digging through gravel or however else you are abusing your gear - if you are even actually using it. And when you DO have to sharpen (which EVERY knife requires) and you know how to sharpen (easily learned) then it's not any inconvenience at all. Anyone with any decent amount of time relying on a blade knows this full well. There is no advantage your $130 blade offers that you don't also get with a MoraKniv (one example) or many other more affordable knives. Certainly no advantage worth the $110 difference. Asserting otherwise proves your ego controls your wallet.
That knife does look great and it does the job it was designed for and that is what one looks for in a knife. I have many knives of various types and brands and most are good for for survival usage and I would buy that knife, but the price is at the range I would pay for it.
Hey Bryan, I love your sharp Saturday series. May I make a request? I know you've done videos on karambits in the past, but I was wondering about a recommendation for a serrated one? I had one of cheap quality that I used to cut V belts. It worked really well for a year, but since it was cheap quality and I was using it for an unintended purpose, it broke. Anyway, please excuse my rambling. Love your videos. Have a great day
That is a sweet looking knife..lol amen some people get butt hurt so easy . That would look sweet with wood handle . Lol you are just trying to make every mad lol great review thanks
I get that some people are sensitive. If you were purposely trying to offend anyone that's different. This is America and free speech is still a thing. They can say what they want and you can too. Like you said,"get over it.
Sorry Bryan, THUMB ON TOP when you are stabbing it down into the stump (then if your fingers slip, you don't cut them off). Little old nit-picker me. Talking while you were chopping quickly you sounded like WOODY WOODPECKER lol.🐦🐦🐦
I was going to say something about y'alls ability to count there in Atlanta but that wouldn't be appropriate and I don't want to be blocked from your channel. I understand if you delete this comment
Great review. Forget about the pronunciation! Are you suppose to be fluent in all language? You review all kinds of knives from many different countries and so what, say it the way you see it! This is why in America people have "invented" the term "Spanglish"! And no disrespect here my Spanish friends or people in South Texas, and Arizona and Florida wherever people are lucky enough to speak 2 languages!

You are so correct as to assume we ALL have bigger things to worry or complain about. Keep em coming. By the way, as a northerner I love your accent!
Bryan, the tests you do to those "bushcraft" knives are spot on..please continue..
Love your vids..😁
Don't worry about that, you doing a great job. So people would be mad about a new penny

It's a good thing my birthday is coming soon. I know what I'm going to tell my wife to get me. 😁👍
As a retired electrical contractor I found critiicism usually comes from the jealous. The only one you need to stay on the good side of is God.
Love your videos Brian, keep up the great job my friend.
Thanks, will do!

As a former Scoutmaster, the usual mistake Scouts make when trying to start a fire is they try to use green wood.
Great video Bryan thanks!

Really like the look of these knives!
Amen Brother!
Congrats on 200k!!!
I like the design of the blade
I bought one of these around 2-3 years ago and it has been a damn good knife so far. The only thing I dont care for is the price(expensive), but you get what you pay for. I really like the sheath, very good tooling and quality.
"If all you have to worry about is my pronunciation of Jeo Tec, you got it made." Well said 👏
What is really funny is they sent me an email to tell me I am pronouncing it correctly with the English “J” sound.
@@SurvivalOnPurpose thats hilarious 🤣
Thanks

Now that is a quality sheath
yep
Good looking knife and sheath. I would carry one with no worries that it wouldn't perform. Thanks Brian.

Looks great Bryan. The sheath with the stone & Ferro rod leave the B.G. stuff for dead in looks.
All the best from Down-Under again 🔪🔪🦘🦘
Another brilliant video
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video as usual. People will always find a reason to be offended this is the world we live in.
Agreed
Looks like a nice knife. I enjoy your videos. Thank you much.

I am still leaning on getting a Kephart Knife! But IDK... IMHO

The wcsk is probably the best survival knife on the market
Hi thank you very much, I have a question is this black on the knife blade is it resistant or scratched easily?
I just recently purchased the Jeo Tec no9 model and I don't like the slick black grip they put on it. I can't find anything to replace it with on their site or Amazon. I really like this knife but it's very slick to grip onto.
Ok so I now need this knife
You can't please all the people all the time. Keep up the good work.

I think he has got 200k mosquitoes in his back yard, as well.
@@lauriewilliams8221 ha yep I'll bet.
@@lauriewilliams8221 lol that was a great comment
I love the design. If Ken Onion was asked to design a Canadian belt knife, this would be it. I'm glad he didn't name it Taco.
Hi! Just found your channel, very nice videos, subscribed!
You're shaving your arm with a knife almost every week, so inquiring minds want to know: how fast does your arm hair grow?

It is a knife. It cuts stuff. Although. $20 Mora is not full tang so it is not as robust. Other than that it is about personal preference
@Norse Woodman that's a great comment and very true!
