#Marvel #Namor #SubMariner - Розваги
The thing I really loved about Prince Namor was, even though he wasn't huge, he could go toe to toe with some of Marvel's heavyweights.
Submariner not Namor
@@bleedinggreennation8291 Prince Namor is the Submariner. I have seen other commenters point that out.
Namor is the Submariners' name since he was created by Bill Everett in 1939-40.
@@bleedinggreennation8291 sea-man from South Park?
Nearly 40 minutes on Namor? Time to pull up a chair .... the best thing about this story is that it doesn't just deal with Namor, but the history of his Atlantean nation and Lemuria. Props to the Merry Marvelite!!!
That was quite interesting,,it also shed some light on the illuminate.
Props to Marvel.
Submariner not Namor
He's Namor, the Sub-Mariner. I don't see the issue. It's been that way from the beginning.
It is so extraordinarily strange for me to watch one of these kind of videos and be completely beguiled with information I had no idea about. Usually anything before like 1995 - I know absolutely every tiny aspect. This was mind-blowing.
Yeah this guy is great. He's very good at telling the story, etc. You might also like the guy that does Comics Explained. His channel is great too.
This is a history which I either didn't know or don't remember reading it. It was difficult, as a child, to collect comic books during the early 70's as I entered into my early teens. The only store near me was probably 3 miles from where I lived that sold comic books. I bought some Namor: The Mighty Submariner and The Invaders! Also, I loved The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk and The Amazing Spiderman which helped me with Science in school.
Still hard these days lol
Namor could very well be Marvel comics very first character. When you research Namor it says he first appeared in Marvel Comics number 1 in 1939.Namor appears before the original Human Torch, unrelated to the Fantastic Four, and before the original WW2 Captain America. Namor also appears in Marvel comics before D.C. comics Aquaman.
I like how the tagline for the Avengers was used for the Invaders in this video
It's amazing how much story they were able to wrap around and intertwine with Sum-Mariner's origin tale.
Namor is among my favourites heroes , together with Spiderman , Captain America and Thor. I'm fascinated with the Atlantis mythology and all the characters from the seas. Hope MARVEL bring all these realm to the cinemas soon.
more villian
Say no more! 😂
good news
@@chidaluokoro9104if we’re being honest namor is more neutral than anything he’s done more heroic deeds than bad but he’s way more neutral than anything
It's about time you did the History of Namor the Submariner and this is awesome and totally worth waiting for
The person that made this video is a true prince of the blood
When I was a kid I used to read stories of the submariner in bits and pieces, this video really help me connect the dots.
liked his rivalry with hercules on the avengers.....wasn't to crazy about him as part of the xmen tho.
TY!!! Namor was always a dope underrated character
Outstanding!!!! I love Namor The Sub-mariner. He is one of my favorite characters of Marvel Comics.
Great job. Man those old Kirby splash panels were so f'n good.
I like how marvels is so interconnected
I want to learn more about the green lantern
That's and the way they actually make scientific explanations for characters powers are my favorite things about MARVEL.
You can thank the people who have worked for that company over the last 83 years. The List of people to thank is a long one, but you can start with Bill Everett, Carl Burgos, Joe Simon, Jack Kirby and Stan Lee for a start.
Namor is one of my favorite characters and I honestly think you've done the best job representing him. Better than Comics Explained or any body else on UA-cam. THANK YOU😊
The Best of Marvel, The Sub-Mariner is the Golden age of comic's and I can relate to him 👍💪
YES..! I requested this a while back.. thanks for putting the spotlight on my all time favorite character: NAMOR..!
Submariner
And this is I love this channel. Always pure gold.
Also this narrator is so full of enthusiasm.
Great back story of the Sub Mariner. I'm a long time collector of all things comic characters and had no idea of some the more in depth background of Alantis, Lemuria and Sub Mariner. Good storytelling.
You forgot to add that Namor became anothe super rich conglomerate along with T.Stark using Atlantis's gold 👍💪
I’m glad you did a video about Namor. I’ve read some reprints of the golden age books, but other than the modern incarnations of the character, I’m fairly clueless. You cleared up a lot for me. Imperious Rex!
excellent job telling the story of the Sub Mariner who has always intrigued me, the first and rightful Prince of Atlantis.
I find it ironic that even though DCs Aquaman was a answer to Namor, Its Aquaman who better known in the theatre at least.
Too bad we'll never see him in the MCU.
Well
@@PauTheDeo Namór doesn't count.
Imperious Rex to you, Sir !!! Great Subby video. It's long and detailed, the perfect length for me to be entertained while fixing dinner. This channel is always enjoyable and always entertaining. 'Nuff said!
As a kid each of my brothers picked a crazy cartoon super hero as our own. I choose Namor the Sub-Mariner. I can't wait to see him brought to life on screen. There were 6 super heros and there were 6 of us. All have been made into movies but Sub-Mariner and Tobar the 8th man. He was the one picked by my brother that died.
I remember my brothers and I used to do dat with power rangers lol
Dude so strong even Hercules put respect on his name
UBuub
Doesn't really count because he even said if he had Spider-mans powers he could become a god again (when he lost his powers) fuck in the comics Thor harassed mj and stopped all of Spider-mans villains trying to force him to join the avengers and saying he's strong enough to put down a frost giant which peter found irritating until he joined and made she hulk way more violent until she forced Thor to stop encouraging him to join and made Spider-man leave, we all know he'll come back and join or be a temporary member
@@agentmysterious6682 the first time he joined the avengers Cap kicked him out because he was not ready to face the type of threats the avengers routinely face plus he was just a kid
And his arrogance matches Hercules's too
@@ddillard143 Hercules arrogance got him beat tf up by the wrecking crew lol
Imperius Rex! Namor needs a resurgence. A theatrical solo film, and a crossover with the MCU super teams, is in order.
The character really isn't a comedian though, the Disney mcu will ruin the character like so many other characters.
@@notmyname5591 like so many other? which characters did mcu destroy so far?
Imagine if the proposed tv show back in 1955 had been picked up.
A well informed friend told me Aquaman was actually a ripoff of the Sub mariner??
@@TheHornet1fan yeah it makes sense because namor was created first
Hope you cover The Eternals!! Thanks for your videos absolutely love them and how well you present the facts.
Great share, I had no idea until I watched this, only because I heard he and Hulk had a battle and needed to see how strong sub mariner was.
Fabulous job.... well explained, not rushed
Neptune’s Noodle is my new catchphrase.
Awesome! I knew most his history but some of these things put forward are new to me. Thanks for the sharing and for bringing back memories of my childhood comic book reading of these characters. Keep it up for I do appreciate these comics and stories.
Well researched and flawlessly delivered.
You are the best comic youtuber i have found... It is so unfair you dont have more viewers!!
Wow this is more dramatic than a soap opera !! Thanks for this !!
Namor predated Aquaman by a few years and did the long hair and bearded grunge look first too.
It may be safe to figure that Aquaman was an inferior rip-off. Namor is definitely unique. Comics' first anti-hero, who was conflicted between destroying the human race and saving it.
@@robvangessel3766 Pretty much everyone knows who Aquaman is. How many people other than hardcore Marvel fans know about Namor?
@@kyledonahue9315 I'm sure that's true, but Namor has a more complex history - being a hero/villain - shifting between being a real asshole and a noble warrior. DC characters are generally more 1-dimensional than Marvel's, and that makes for easier translations in different media. I don't think anyone outside of comics fans would know Aquaman had he not been in many animated shows for decades, and that's because he was so easy to depict.
2 years
Namor just turned a hundred.
How could there be an “Ice Fall” on Atlantis? ice cannot sink lol. Not to even mention that the Ice would be even more buoyant in the Saltwater Sea, than it would be in a freshwater lake.
Well-done! Learned more from you than I could on my current schedule
Great video! Hope some of these early issues are included in that Invaders Omnibus coming later this year or early next!
A very comprehensive & well researched origin story. It gives me new found by appreciation of the character & his role in the MU.
Namor "the Atlantean", not to be confused with "El Namor" the Mexican
Talocani dude.
This dude brings all the history 💪🏾
Adding to my comics playlist on my channel
Excellent video! I learned a few things I didn't know about the Atlantians in the Marvel Universe.
Thanks, and...
Imperius Rex!
Thanks for this great in-depth video!
Great job man!
great video! I appreciate the care and detail you provide, it saves the casual reader a lot of time tracking down back issues. I'd like to see a video of Modok if you haven't already done one, also Rick Jones has quite a vibrant past full of associations with some big Marvel characters. thanks for your dedication!
Awesome 👏🏽 Awesome 👏🏽 Video
Excellent work sir!
They need to bring this to the Marvel universe and produce some action films.
This is a great channel, buddy. So much knowledge!
Outstanding storytelling. As a kid in the late fifties and early sixties I enjoyed reading comic book. The Sub Mariner was one of my favorite comic characters. I also enjoyed Sipderman and Daredevil. How about a story on Daredevil?
Excellent video! Thanks for the research!
Wow very detailed history. Thank you for sharing.
Great way to tell a story. A lot of fun.
Nice job love your videos
Lots of pre-Namor history but a interesting part of his story before Johnny meets him was left out of this unfortunately. Tales of the Marvels: Inner Demons (1996)
What a mouthful! Amazing job😄👍
Wow. Very very awesome! Keep the classic marvel history coming.
Great job on this
Well done! That 40 minutes flew by!
Finally what took you guys So Long I been waiting for a Namor Video
Absolutely brilliant storytelling and narration
Love the content bro!
NAMOR needs to do some community service . For years of property damage to NYC .
Been a fan of The Sub-Mariner ever since the 1967 Marvel Cartoons.
Very well made video !
This was a very in-depth origin very Kool
Great video!!
That was great, ive always been intrigued by Namor, Hercules, and Thor. Specifically the similarities and differences in their respective abilities and their weapons, the trident of Neptune, Hercules golden mace, and of course Thor's Hammer.
Namor once caught Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, when it was thrown at him by Thor. Smh He's like a God underwater with just unbelievable strength and power.
"Oh, I can check this out before work.." sees 38 min length
"Oh, I can check this out after work.."
Stronger than a whale
He can swim anywhere
He can breathe under water
And go flying through the air
The noble Sub Mariner, Prince of the deep
So, beware you deadly demons
Lord Namor of Atlantis
Is the Prince of the Deep
I could never make out the exact words to that song.....Namor's theme song from the old marvel super heroes show from the 60's

Great video
You man the ultimate chad of the Marvel universe
Can we take a sec and realize these characters are almost a century old?
Truly scholarly work, sir!
Thanks for the info. Always like Namor over Aquaman. Much ❤ as always 😊
The ONLY problem I have with the physiology of Namor are those BIRD WINGS on his ankles. If I could retcon this character, I'd change them to flying fish fins.. It just makes more sense.
It definitely would make more sense, but back than, you would have to explain what flying fish have to do with actual flying, and bird wings are easier to understand for kids, plus it links to the god Mercury. But, I'd love it retconned.
@@martinhanke1670 That's the thing... Altantians were are whole separate culture that had no ties to Greek or Roman mythology. They had their own mythos. Being AQUATIC beings, the whole premise of their physiology, their features and related appendages should reflect their nature's and natural environment.
Flying fish have oversized.lateral fins that enable them glide a good distance out of the water, though they aren't amphibious by nature, the don't breathe air, but "hold their breaths" in atmosphere until they re-submerge. The ability for Namor to fly is ludicrous considering these factors. He should be able to leap and glide a fair distance, at best. It's more realistic.
Being a comic artist MYSELF, I strive to incorporate as much realism as possible, scientifically, even to fictional characters. This bridges the gap between believable science and plain magic.
It's funny.. I remember an issue of the Avengers where Namor flies with a 20 ton reactor on his shoulder. A device that was necessary to defeat their for. Falcon flew beside him and his thoughts were basically, "How does he fly, much more carry such a massive peace of machinery with just those little wings on his feet". Lol!! I thought that was a funny, yet valid argument. It was that issue that made me consider to invent power sets and abilities grounded in real science.
His wings are fins
Such a rich and interesting history, thanks.:)
Maybe you people could do a video on Bill Everett, Namor's creator.
Nice job. Great info and pics to support the narrative.
Imperius Rex !!!
Awesome, thank you for your sharing this tremendous storyline- been awaiting the advent of Namor, into the MCU. Now the MCU is complete
He's in black panther
Thanks so much. I learned alot about the SubMariner and his ancestry. I need to go back and read more about him.
Nice details!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Bro I LOVE your videos, big comic nerd and I love how u do these Origin storys!!story's!!! Keep em coming!!!
Once again another great story, I love it
Excellent!
At one point, I used to think the Kree had something to do with the creation of the Atlantians. The Kree have blue skin, as do the Atlantians.
Then I read The Handbook Of The Marvel Universe.
Also a founding member of the Defenders ... 👍
Enjoyable! - I Once Had the Comic featuring Namor and GIGANTO! - some great story-telling!
Can you do history of Inferno, Victorious, Gambit, Moondragon, Phyla_Vell and Genis-Vell along with the Supreme Intelligence, Mole_Man and Exodus and Ex-Nhilo?
I remember being introduced to Namor in spiderman and his amazing friends in the 80s. Great job on the video 🤘
The Submariner
Bearded Namor predicted how Old Mark Hamill would look.
Well done.
This is a good Orgin story. Namor is my favorite marvel character. I hope Namor will be in black panther 2.
Didn't know much about this character before watching this.
I like your storytelling voice
