It cannot be compared, Bangkok is a tourist city while Jakarta is a capital city. If you want a vacation go to Bangkok, but if you want to do business go to Jakarta.

As a Malaysian, its hard to choose between these two cities. I love both cities and have been visiting these cities more than 10times each. Jakarta is great for business trip and nowadays becoming more modern and appealing for weekend visit, concerts and cultural activities. Whereby Bangkok has the best food in the world, friendly people and hospitality as well as massive art and craft community.

My favourite city is Bangkok. 2 to 3 times a year for my vacation since 2010. loves day & night entertainment, street food, night market, clubbing, shopping and restaurant. Year end party is like heaven.

My first impression of Bangkong when I visit there for Songkran, and I love it. I like the people of Thai too. They're so nice.
Just to let you know city population here defined by its territorial size. Like Tokyo's huge 30++mil population because of Tokyo-Yokohama big prefecture territory. Whereby Bangkok and Jakarta's special administrative territory are much smaller than Tokyo hence the satelite areas population didnt count. Take Kuala Lumpur as example, the total Klang Valley population is 8 million but Kuala Lumpur city population is only 2 million. Klang Valley is where the city located and doesnt administered by KL city hall but has its own city councils.

Of course Bangkok is much better for vacation, the people are kind and friendly, best food, and cheaper living cost compare to Jakarta. But if you looking for a new opportunity on bussines, perhaps Jakarta will offer you more.

It is undeniable that most expats are interested in going to Bangkok because of cheap sex tourism which is not found in Jakarta as a city with a huge muslim population.
That's a great video! We can learn more about those cities. This is not to compare who is better but from the comparison of these two cities we can see them from another point of view. Bangkok and Thailand are two major cities that are widely known. So that's interesting to learn them a bit at the same time. Cause I'm Indonesian, so from this video I also learned about Bangkok a little bit and maybe one day I will visit it. Thanks, pals!
