I havent played any of the Diablo games, but as i was close to starcraft, i knew of its existence and lately i have been amaze by its storytelling and graphic art and such, thxs for the videos they are awesome. Love you men, also hear this while doing other stuff, plus the visual work is pretty cool with the character photos and etc.
Ps: Malthael shouldnt have ever died men, coolest guy on haven, and... would he revive on the crystal arch, isint still an angel? He just exchange its aspect to death from wisdom, wich sounds very profound and Kick ass!

On Diablo being the only Prime Evil to show up after the destruction of the Black Soul-Stone. I was kind of expecting him to be the only one because he had fused the other six Evils into himself. That said, I see no reason why those in charge of creating the Lore couldn't decide to bring the other Evils back.

Imperius does have a lot of good points and is mostly very straightforward and logical, he seems whiny but that's only because we know what happens.

Isn't the reason that only Diablo is released is because he absorbed the other 6 evils? It would either be Diablo as the Prime Evil, or all 7 Evils (with no Prime Evil). It can't be both.
+Doo-Hyong Yi Yeah, Diablo absorbed the other six Evils and according to Blizzard that means that only the Prime Evil was released. What I tried to say in the video is that I, personally, don't like that and would rather see all seven Evils free again, since most of them are way more interesting than Diablo anyways.
@@itsChrane Wow no boo, I disagree totally. Diablo is the youngest of the 3 yet he leads them. He is by far the most badass and IMO the most interesting. I love how we can all LOVE this game and yet still see things so differently, all the trolls and scammers aside I love the Diablo crowd.

I think I recall a source that stated when Diablo became THE prime evil - all the other evils are him as he is them. Thus his comment: I am Legion. So I assume this means Diablo's Soul is now all the lords of hell combined making him the one true Lord of Hell and the story's driving nemesis we'd expect him to be.
"I am legion" is something he says in D1, waaaay before he become the prime evil.
And the "I am legion" refers to him just being a part of the whole, that there are evils out there just as strong as him, and the strave for the same goal.
With Tyrael human now, he can't do a fusion dance with the other angels... ☹
Diablo consumed all the other evils so I don't think they will be back unless we can somehow purge them from inside diablo. But from what I understand diablo basically consumed them when he took in the black stone. I mean at least that's my theory. That's why he became so powerful. Well how he became so much more powerful I mean
The ending here kinda reminds me of the ending for Throne of Ball with the book closing.
I may be late, but I think the reason only diablo was released was because he consumed all the other Evils and became the Prime Evil. So to release the others, Diabloe would have to be killed, or broker, or something to release them from Him.

You have no clue how thankful I am of this series of videos because I have been REALLY interested in the story, but why have you stopped uploading videos? I wanted to know the story of Starcraft aswell!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I will get back to making videos and start streaming these coming weeks. I've been very busy at work, but now I've got some time off. And unlike other people, I stay at home during my holidays! So some Starcraft and Warcraft will most likely be coming your way rather soon! ;)

I think the reason they mention only Diablo as the prime evil escaping is that in the events of vanilla D3 the 7 evils became ONE whole evil within the black soulstone with Diablo being made the defacto dominant due to the host sharing his direct lineage

Leah isnt dead. I figured that out when i realised she was now half human and half demon. Because she is diablos daughter, demons can reincarnate in the hells. This is more possible due to maltheals destruction which resulted in all evils being released again

Diablo was the Prime Evil in the Black Soulstone,because he consumed the other Great Evils at the end of D3,and became the Prime Evil,so that's why only Diablo's spirit was released,because he held all the other Evils
That's the thing. I understand why and how it happened. I just think it's poor storytelling.
Could you do a recap in the same theme as this "Diablo Lore" part series of Diablo 4's story with your thoughts on it and what could come after?
That is the plan, as soon as I finish the story.
Currently I am streaming the whole playthrough and just finished act 3, so I will start writing the script soon.

The reason why they say diablo was the only one that emerged is that the very moment diablo combined with the other six created Tathamet again so he was the prime evil and diablo was the brearer of them because he was the strongest of all of them

Here’s what I don’t understand. Why didn’t Tyrael and the Horadrim take the black soulstone to the hellforge and destroy it there?

Except the DLC doesn't really add any lore, and he mentioned the necromancer in this video.
Regarding your comment on Diablo release in the very end, Blizzard screwed up a little by saying in Diablo 3 that "Diablo consumed all 7 souls in him thus becoming the ultimate evil, aka Tathamet 2.0, or the Prime Evil." So they called this new 7-in-1 Diablo Prime Evil the same as Diablo, Baal and Mephisto are Primme Evils themselves.
This is why I think it is implied that who released in the end of the Reaper of souls is this 7-in-1 abomination
So you mentioned about the 7 evils not being released, but in your past video you said that diablo consumed the other evils to become the prime evil so I'd think that they were gone and only diablo was left. Hence the only one left to be released.? Loved your videos by the way, it was a great way to catch up on lore. Thanks.

One comment/question: any plan to make the subtitles for the videos based on your scripts? I'm a non-native English speaker and I consider myself to be above average in English fluency. I've enjoyed the games from Diablo I through Reaper of Souls and am fairly familiar with the lore. However, when comes to this video, I had to re-watch part of it since I got lost with all the names and places when watching the first time. When I turned on the auto-generated subtitles hoping to be helpful when it became even more confusing...
It might be too much to ask but I think subtitles to your great lore videos would be tremendously helpful for other non-native English speakers like me. It would also help the ones who want to dive deeper into the lore and check more info and backgrounds behind those names and places.

didn't the nephelem ended up absorbing some of the black soul stone? although blizzard said only diablo is free, doesn't mean that the others arnt free as well. most likely they all were along with matheal being reborn in the high heavens. but only time will tell

Yes, there will be Starcraft videos, as well as Warcraft videos and some more Diablo. The only problem right now is work. I'm away 11 hours a day, so when I come home I just want to relax. I haven't been in the mood to write a script for quite some time. HOWEVER, I've got a huge chunk of free time coming up, which makes all of the writing process less overwhelming.
It is coming, and i'm coming back with a vengeance. :)

25:50 I thought the same thing for a bit when I saw this awhile ago. Don't forget that it was made a point, that when Diablo absorbed all the other prime evils when he took over Leah's body, he says, "now all the evils are one within me, I am the prime evil". Which to me implied they all literally fused into a new being this "prime evil", Diablo is his name but they are all within him now. I think when the souls are released along with Diablo at the end of D3, it is still the fully merged prime evil. Diablo, in his full glory. Unrestrained by a vessel and with all his power now free to build his strength and army for next war. Just a thought, who knows which direction they will go. Me personally I think bringing all the evils back would be meh, I would like Diablo to be brought back as himself. Not that girly, scrawny, pitiful version we got in D3. More like he was in D1/D2, just now even more powerful.
I think all 7 evils escaped and are now free maybe be reborn or so but god only knows what will happen with sanctuario

Thanks for all the explaining, just one thing I dont get: When Maltheas goal was to annihilate humankind, why did his reapers attack heaven? Makes no sense to me.
Maybe the black soul stone corrupted him?? That's the only thing I could think up. Seems like a plot hole, for sure.

Where did you get the lore of everything that happened from when the black soulstone was stuck in heaven to when the video started @11:35? This portion wasn't mentioned in the game.
IIRC, you can find this lore from different books/scrolls/tomes and/or conversations with all of the NPCs throughout the RoS expansion.
They should release all 7 evils it would make the game more interesting but I feel like blizzard would make a expansion on it sadly for money so we shall see

So the playable necromancer never played a part in the expansion? That's the one thing I am trying to wrap my head around as he was the new player character as part of the expansion. Just doesn't feel right that he wasn't mentioned in the expansion storyline of Diablo 3.
The Necromancer was most likely involved in the story as much as the other Nephalem.
Only problem is that the Necromancer was released 2 years AFTER I made this video.
So there's not that much I can do to fix that haha
@@itsChrane oh I didn't know that. When I got the Diablo 3 expansion I had him, well bought. My dad owned the second one and I played some of it. Never got to finish it. Had 2 copies for two computers to play lan line. Idk if he had the first. Anyway I own the 3rd on the Xbox. Kinda excited about the mobile version coming out sometime soon. Also I have another question, is the Major demons aka the prime evils, based on demonology or something of that nature?
