I believe a documentary would be the right choice. Don't believe any of the abused persons, children or adults, ever have a chance to revenge. Unfortunately it doesn't help we live in the modern age. Human nature will always be the same. Some people will choose to do evil.
As a person from the Greater Sacramento Area, Preston Castle in Ione, is truly haunted by all accounts. Had friends who were skeptics filming and photographing the place, and strange orbs/lights appear on pictures.

I recall how parents more taught that to their older kids ..but grievingly they the parents play it down often today ..if not rarely the right ways as your comments . We need institutions again. Even though there was abuse, it was nothing compared to what people are suffering today in the US while living on the streets with their little kids in tow. How long will they last on the streets of homelessness? I hope someone is keeping statistics of the deaths of homeless children, teens, and young adults over the past 5 years, not to mention the borderline mentally ill who are out on the streets. That said, great, scary movie! Thank you.

A couple of cool party girls acting all tough and everything. Later they ain’t acting so tough anymore! Good horror movie without all the blood and guts you would expect.

This started out pretty good and I thought I was going to like the movie a lot. The plot/storyline seemed interesting, and the cast was decent enough, but as the movie progressed, it got really boring for me. It's like the girl with her bf well they kept waiting and waiting for her friend to return except she didn't. So, they decided to just wait there forever which was dragging things out. I'm like "if you guys are in such a rush to get out of this creepy place then go look for your damn friend!" They finally look for her and the whole entire movie all they are doing is searching for the girl's best friend. Ya, you see things move, shadows and sounds etc. like you would in any typical haunted movie. But as the movie dragged on like this for quite a while, I started to literally nod off and got so bored I shut it off. There definitely was not enough excitement for me, and I've seen a lot of paranormal movies with haunted places that were way more action packed and moved a lot faster. Sorry but 5/10 stars for me, I wouldn't recommend it, but that's just me. Everyone has different taste in movies and what they like.

2nd time watching this not bad but she truly is a great friend she was determined to not leave without Ashley now that's a true friend. Danny is a coward he wanted to leave Ashley not a good friend
Exactly... like the previous boy ditching his girlfriend to run leaving her behind to die.
He knew more about the place that's why he wanted to leave. If they had left they would have survived but that was not how the script was written.

The entire movie was like a search operation. I think the ghost was scared to come out. Hahaha. Could have been better. Expected a lot. Disappointed.
To much time going through the house....it showed each one going through. It could have been a 45 minute movie.
I'm only about 15 minutes into it and I can tell that it doesn't have what it takes to be a scary movie.
Horror movies usually have a tragic ending. 😢

That was a pretty well done movie. Acting was acceptable as well. The two girls were definite " lookers ", with Asley slightly edging Liz out. I hope they go far with their acting careers.

Typical teens exploring and getting lost & trapped in an abandoned edifice stuff, 40+ minutes before you get a glimpse--and then just a glimpse--of a ghost, with the usual inconclusive conclusion. "Preston Castle?" Since when is a juvenile detention center a castle? Never mind, don't waste your time on this one.

All great 'till, the unexplained malevolence, towards our trio. Was this tortured spirit, just out to kill anyone, it would come across?? I assumed it, would be out for retribution and/or, justice. And the script could've used, more 'hutspah'!!
Great movie. Great soundtrack. Great plot. Great backstory. I loved watching it.
Here's so insight. Preston castle was owned by the California youth authority. It closed a few years back. CYA was basically a prison for juveniles. A lot of the wards I met that were there really claimed the institution was haunted.
I was never at preston, so I can't say it was haunted.
Lots of sketchy stuff happened at preston from what I heard.
Anyway fast forward to the present, it is now closed and abandoned. It is a now a historic site because of it age.
Research the castle and what you read will probably be better than this film.
Did anyone see that white speck that flew towards the kids as they approached the building? Was that a special effect,a bug or a real spirit?
Ashley should have played Liz otherwise it was a ok movie storyline lacking but over all not to bad
