Please leave a comment for a chance to win the painting I demonstrated today! Thanks for watching live! Sorry about the end cutting off, my son jumped on the internet right at the end and it booted me off LOL! No worries the complete tutorial is there!
+thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich I can't believe I missed the live show again. Enjoyed watching the video after anyway :) Your twins's channel is so cute. Happy Christmas to you all.
Loved the ballerina, the coloring is gorgeous. I've always had a special love for the grace and beauty of ballerinas and you've managed to produce a pretty little lady with pastels. Thank you for all the time and effort you spend in bringing daily tips and arts to your audience. I still think you are an alien. lol.
I love this, I've watched you for a few years now. Thank you so much, you've taught me that I can craft without spending the grocery money! LoL. Love your spunk! That's what I love about you and Cinnamon both!
Hello Lindsay! Thank you for your tutorial. Regarding the negative comments and thumbs down, some feel the need to put people down to lift themselves up and foolishly believe that unless art is realistic, it isn't worthy. Art is subjective, and what is in our hearts reflects who we really are, and those who judge and criticise the creativity of others only project a closed mind and heart. Your heart is positive and open, and that is worth everything. Merry Christmas!
thanks for the very nice tutorial and live chat, and help! I love the live tutorials, and the ballerina was lovely. Was not conviced with the start of the arms and head, but when they where blended and the face got more details,..WOW
Thank you for this beautiful ballerina! I can't wait to order my pastels and paper and paint this! I've been wanting to paint a ballerina! Very Lovely!!! Wishing you and yours a beautiful Holiday! :)
So sorry I missed another live show, it always seems I have some appointment on Fridays, one of these days I will be here. Love your tutorial, beautiful dancer. Thank you.
Hi Lindsay! I finally got to watch!! I love your ballerina, just beautiful! Thanks so much to both of you for doing this live. Merry Christmas to you both!
Ok....thank you! Being that once upon a time I was a ballerina I just can't understand (no criticism because I can't draw to save my life) how or why some artists just can't seem to give the ballerina a turn out. I don't care if it looks funky and her legs just look way unrealistic but having a turn out *high five* but when some artists draw a ballerina without what is basically their number one tool her feet or legs properly it drives me up the wall!!!!! Rant done and thank you Lindsay for giving this beautiful ballerina a turnout. God bless ya!
So beautiful Lindsay. I have never touched pastels but I like the look of them and I am thinking of getting them for my granddaughter. Thank you for all your work. Your tutorials are fantastic. More acrylics and watercolor please. :)
Love your live tutorials Lindsay. Actually, every single one of them. Merry Christmas to you and yours. And to all those out there, esp. those who love the arts! Ha ha, would love to win your painting.
Hi Lindsay this painting is so pretty. My dream is to be a professional ballerina and seeing this painting makes me want to achieve that dream even more. Thank you I love your tutorials.!!
Lindsay, hi from Arizona! Loved watching this live tutorial. It was a great time and it made me want to try pastels! I've never tried them before. I was saying in the chat earlier that if it weren't for your videos I would of never gotten back into art, so I'm very thankful! I have a wall in my bedroom just covered in watercolor tutorials of yours that I have done.
beautiful would like to do this for my daughter she was a dancer her hole life... she is away at school.im going to give it a go...Thanks Lindsy for all your vids...and your time teaching
So excited to try this tutorial. Recently got myself a set of cheap pastels to see if I would like the medium and I've been looking for simple tutorials like this to get me started.
First timer here. Found the link from ArtSherpa's video. Love it. Pastels have always been my weakness and I've learned so much already in this video alone. Thank you, look forward to more of your videos.
Hi Lindsay, I was on live today drawing along. This was my first time using oil pastels. I felt very successful following along with your tutorial. I may need to also get some pastel pencils for the detail work. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks for a great stream. I used paint my photo for my first real original art work , which was a watercolor. I hope to do more. Have a wonderful holiday season!
I tried to comment six or seven times during your live broadcast you kept on going in and out in and out just wanted to say thank you for all your wonderful tutorials sending tons of love and light to you and the family
First live viewing!!!! Enjoyed your chitter chatter but I spent too much time watching the chat comments. Sooooo I'll probably need to watch again. Thanks for the vid and Merry Christmas to all.
Loved it. You showed me how to finally use my pastels again. thanks for the tutorial as always. You're awesome. However, can you suggest what to use to finalize the pastel project? I've been told to use some form of fixative to secure the pastel and prevent smudging.
Lindsay, I finally joined PaintMyPhoto (after so long of watching you paint photos from that site) and will be uploading a couple of pics of butterflies!! As always, thanks for sharing Lindsay, love your work!! Can't believe it i'm first!!!
What is difference in using oil pastels versus soft pastels? How do ey differ? I really enjoyed the video and learned a lot of things about the pastels. Thank you very much
HI Linsay, this painting is beautiful. I would love to paint this in acrylics. Will you give me some suggestions on acrylic colors to use for the dress/tutu?Thanks so much!
Hi Lindsay just watched your video n love it on the black background.. i did a cherry blassome in chork... would love to see a paitning video live of not plzz n ty...
Lindsay, this doesn't have much to do with the video but I have a question for you and would like to hear your opinion. How would you define being an artist? Selling your work? Making art regularly? Having a certain amount of experience? I have loved art since I was a young child and although I have experimented with paint, water colors, and pastels, I always fall back on graphite sketches/drawings. However, since I only do it as a hobby I've never really considered myself to be an artist. The line is just so vague, like what's the difference between someone who likes to doodle, someone who has been drawing as a hobby their whole lives. and someone who went to school and received a degree? In your opinion, what defines being an artist?
+thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich I like your response. I consider myself an artist because I was always drawing or writing because I loved it, even if I didn't feel my work was good enough to sell or anything. :)
Please leave a comment for a chance to win the painting I demonstrated today! Thanks for watching live! Sorry about the end cutting off, my son jumped on the internet right at the end and it booted me off LOL! No worries the complete tutorial is there!

+1892Genesis if you make art frequently and on purpose you are an artist
+thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich I like your response. I consider myself an artist because I was always drawing or writing because I loved it, even if I didn't feel my work was good enough to sell or anything. :)
