Tripple H brought the company and pro wrestling in general back to life. With the amazing talent they have and the the new brilliant minds backstage, this is going to be a hell of a ride. It feels like the people running the show and the talent themselves are actually there because they love it again
I love how when the fans will something, the company doesn't fight against it anymore. They listen, their fingers are on the pulse for the first time in a long time! The hard cam shaking during AJ's entrance was insane, a few years ago they would have cut away to try to ignore it interfering with their presentation
That hard cam shaking was so cool and I'm so happy they didn't cut away. At first I thought it did make the production sloppy, but afterwards I realized how cool of a moment that was
It was so noticeable, I don't have epilepsy, but those cuts sure started to cause me to have the symptoms to where I always had to look away and waited for my wife to tell me its safe.
It also plague a lot of actions filma in the past as well thanks to Bourne series but since John Wick become more popular the shaky cam with multiple cuts isn't a thing anymore
Smackdown overall has improved with Cody Rhodes, Carmelo Hayes, Andrade, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, New Bloodline, Logan Paul, etc. The PLEs feel grand as it should be with stacked matches.
If you push aside the nostalgia some of them have been the best cards of all time. This summerslam is at least top 3 all time potential in the match card so far
Literally not a fan of anyone you mentioned other than maybe Paul as he is a quick learner and naturally talented and Orton for obvious reasons. Gunther and Bron Breaker are the future of the company IMO.
I stopped watching WWE from 2009-2017 and for a while all I’d do is maybe watch a PPV every now and then, but nothing much. It took me until 2021 when I started watching full time again thanks to Roman’s heel turn (I knew who Roman was thanks to UA-cam and saw everyone hated his babyface persona). After that it was pretty much watch Bloodline stuff until we’re here now. An exciting time to be a wrestling fan!
It cant be understated that WWE superstars health has been taken more and more serious, and that adds onto this era too. You can see that theyre happier
i was born in 89 so i was a kid during the attitude era and monday night wars. i was obsessed with wrestling until about 2002 or so. then i didn’t watch all the way until last year. i’m one of many people that came back to wrestling after many years. the product is so good rn
Kevin Dunn and excessive camera cuts: The worst ever combo to make a fan dislike the product... Thankfully he's gone, and now things are going even better 💪🏻
This legit was one of the main reasons I quit watching WWE around 2019. But now, camera work and production are the best they've ever been in WWE, and I'm back enjoying the shows. Crazy to see how things have changed for the better with Vince and Dunn gone!
Except for the garbage shot they do when they have it below the ropes, slowly walking around the ring, a really low shot for way too long. It looks even more ridiculous than me trying to describe it did. Every time they do that I stop watching for a couple minutes it's so awful.
One of the best things is the production, the way one scene will seamlessly blend into the next or drone in through the audience has really enhanced the richness of the show!
Because it’s consistent. That’s literally it. It still doesn’t hold a candle to the high points of the Attitude Era, Golden Age or Ruthless Aggression era. But it’s the most consistent/coherent WWE has ever been.
Samantha is one of the best things about the WWE. The legendary entrance of the Bloodline with all the gold as she counts them down one by one is one of my favorite scenes of the last few years. Her nearly crying when Cody won also added to the moment. It's the little things that add up over time (Finn taking the key card, for example) that add up to the bigger stories and her giving everyone that extra little bit of personality just makes me connect so much more easily. My current favorite is the way she announces Bron Breakker (hardly know-er). Chelsea Green is also way too much fun to hear!
It's no wonder, cause Paul who is from the Attitude Era is in charge of creative and The Rock who is on Mount Rushmore of the WWE is a true "FINAL BOSS". You have the Son of a Hall of Famer as the Champion and beloved by the fans like a Generational Talent that he is starting to become. You have the Mega Star Heel/Anti Hero in Roman Reigns reaching new levels and headlining every major PPV event like the Big Dawg should. A locker room full of Young Talent and really No Gimmicky Stars. Have Awkward fan favorites like Sami Zayn, Otis etc....3 Stars who are about to Go SUPERNOVA LA Knight, Bron Breaker and Jey USO. That's why this feels like the Best Era, #GetTheFOuttaHere
A thing that I think that's connected with a lot of people about this era, is that while you still have the shocking and headline grabbing moments that the AE was nutorious for. It's still got the self awareness and thoughtfulness into actually making those crazy moments have a proper story and promos behind them. this makes the audience and crowd connect with the product in a way that they haven't connected and reacted to it in decades. a lot of the stuff that's still remembered that we tend to forget are still compelling stories and moments, especially in the eras like the RA era where storyline and technical wrestling started getting more into the forefront but was very watered down by the awkward transition into the PG era. also lets not forget Steph and Khan's efforts to clean the companies branding image in the 2010s to remain relevant after all the controversies the company went through with the **** scandals and B***it. It trully was a team effort to get everything back on track. those two doing the logistical work, then people like triple h creative and talentwise. especially when it comes to how they've been treating their women along with people like dusty and finley who pushed for the women into higher quality matches and stories. another thing that's also interesting to see, is how they're more in touch with pop culture stuff with their collabs and crossover celebrities or public figures. which helps with making wrestling feel like its something worth checking out. its not always a runaway hit when it comes to collabs and crossovers. but i think they've had more successful ones than flop ones the last few years.
I love that the talent has freedom to shine here, which in hindsight, it makes sense to let them shine because why even bother having talented individuals confined to fill a specific role if they can't even do what they do best?
The biggest change (imo) are the visuals, aka, the production. Camera shots, angles, scenes, etc. feel way better. No camera shake to exaggerate the blows, longer shots, etc.
Been a wrestling fan since the 70s going to Live Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling shows im the south. Introduced my sons to it. As a fan for nearly 50 years, this is the best I've ever seen. Longer story lines. Great matches. The best soap opera on television. Best action i ever witnessed from these guys and gals. The best scripted reality show on TV. Finally, the production quality is unmatched.
havent watched wrestling for nearly a decade now, only started getting recommended you stuff in the last few weeks too so its nice to see that WWE seems to have changed for the better. Good to see all the wrestlers and non wrestling cast members being able to enjoy themselves too.
What is really making the product so good to me right now is that almost everyone who is on TV right now has something to do and have engaging characters, and all the best stories aren't just reserved for the main event players. In fact, some stories are crossing over with others, which makes watching WWE TV seamless and not a Vince McMahon-controlled chore.
Even someone who I don't really see much of, Bronson Reed, probably just destroyed Rollins' ribs on Raw this week! I'm hoping this wasn't just a one-off moment that goes nowhere
I was one of those people that stopped watching around 2014 then I slowly got back into wrestling by watching indies until 2019 when double or nothing aired and I got hooked again. Anyways Cody was one of the most pivotal parts of that company to me and I’m glad he’s succeeding and leading the WWE renaissance, after wrestlemania XL I’m a fan of the WWE once again again can’t wait to watch it on Netflix!
It’s crazy I think this era has been coo It has brought me back into watching wrestling for the first time since I was kid but there’s people that will still criticize it and say it will never be like the attitude era Well of course the Attitude Era is better cuz there were more stars and craziness But it improved from where it was in 2019 Wouldn’t you want the ppv’s going towards that direction? IDK what wwe gotta do to satisfy people have cuz if wwe tries to hard some people will say “they will never be like the attitude era” but if they don’t then those same people will say “wwe needs to go back to what it was during the attitude era” It’s like dude what do you want???
I've been watching it off and on. It doesn't feel as important to me as catching up on Raw and SmackDown for the PLE hype, but I do love watching some NXT and watching young stars like Trick Williams, Oba Femi, Ethan Page, Wes Lee, Joe Hendry, Roxanne Perez, Chase U, Axiom and Nathan Frazer, etc. just wild out and do insane shit. Can't wait to see some of these people in the main roster
There's been a lot of memorable pops the last 2 years, from Sami betraying Roman to Rey finally hitting Dominik to Cody ending Roman's championship reign.
Wrestlers clearly have more agency, are having more fun, the show has stakes, there's a vision for the future and not just barreling towards the next show directionless, and fan engagement and attention to detail is being rewarded again. Those and a whole bunch of other things, like a glut of new, exciting talent and stars being built in earnest.
Holy shit. I wish I knew Vince was gone before the documentary. Looks like wrestling FINALLY found what comes after the Attitude Era. This (Fuck That) Era, bringing the attitude back, bringing the kayfabe back, but still acknowledging that the fourth wall has been shattered has been worked well into the characters. And the talent getting the chance to come up their own ideas instead of being fed script after script seems like a nice go-back as well. Gonna start tuning in
I my opinion, there's just one thing missing. and it's a different team commentary team for each brand. in the mid 2000s, those soft remarks about the other brand made it more engaging and feel like watching actually two rival products and fighting to be the best
Raw and SmackDown do have different commentary teams: Michael Cole and Pat McAfee for Raw, Wade Barrett and Corey Graves for SmackDown. They don't make remarks against each other like they did in the 2000s, because the brand wars are essentially over as y'all knew it from back then
Honestly Rock is right about what he said right there. Sure the Attitude Era is great same with the Ruthless Agression era but damn this Era is just too great to deny and it's the era that's taking over all eras. And previous era fans needs to understand and get on board and if not they can get left behind and miss out on greatness
I feel that storytelling is more consistent now. There's an actual beginning, middle and end to stories. Also, not being so adverserial towards the audience is doing wonders for the product. Also, WWE is taking more risks now, and when WWE takes risks, the product improves massivley (gambling on Rock and Austin after Hogan, Hall & Nash left and WCW was driving them out of business).
I tried the latest episodes. Good thing I downloaded 1997 till 2002 ppv and tv shows so I dont have to watch this. I dont mind people watching it, but dont say its better now. Its not nostalgia, it is simply more entertaining. The new storylines feel more fake than the characters they represent.
I'm hoping it's going to be a blending of what was great about the attitude era and ruthless aggression but also still understanding it's a family show. They don't have to dumb things down but they don't have to be gratuitous either. Things are feeling more cinematic too, I appreciate. Howpfully netflix will bust open a creative window in 2025.
NXT is pretty damn good. It's not Black and Gold era good but it's waaaaay better than 2.0. At this point I've given up on AEW ever turning around. Dynamite has been bad lately and the ratings show fans are tuning out. Tony Khan got his new TV deal though so I'm sure he sees that as vindication and will keep doing what he's been doing.
The best era is gone, the people born after 2000 may differ, but I believe we late 90s and early 2000s kids were the most hooked with the product with the wrestlers having real impact in our daily lives. Watching WWE felt lively and made us homies entertained.
I was born in 98 and started watching in 2010/11-ish and I actually agree. Watching shows that are 2-3 decades old is more entertaining to me than the modern shows. Many of these new wrestlers act like nerds who are "playing wrestler" on tv instead of actual characters.
I'm glad I came across this video I've been a fan of wrestling for a long time and fell off it a while ago but this def makes me want to watch it again
Bro has to make new video especially about Dom Dom. Summerslam make him from heel(JD) to mega heel pretty quick(turning on Rhea, and flipping off to WWE crowds 😂)
So WWE is finally actually worth watching again? Good to hear , just want it to be more like the ruthless aggression/attitude product and I’d be interested
Bro the old era was so much better who tf are half of the wrestlers like seriously every time I watch I am like who tf is that wwe from 2000 till 2016 was so fucking good
0:07 "That hasn't been this good or popular since the early 2000's" and no matter how much better WWE gets you all are going to keep saying that. Because that is the opinion that has been pushed down your throat for years now and you believe that the Attitude Era is a way higher bar than it actually was. Go back and watch WWE back then. The storytelling wasn't nearly as planned out as it is now. There was hardly any long term storytelling whatsoever. Most of it was shock value that existed for the sole purpose of making tv ratings show bigger numbers. That's not to say it didn't have great moments. Austin vs McMahon and Austin vs Rock were two of the greatest rivalries in history with some of the best chemistry ever held between them, Kurt Angle was f'ing hilarious without it coming at the cost of his credibility (although the same applies to the ruthless aggression era where I'd argue he was even better), The Story between Undertaker and Kane (prior to the retcon of their backstory a year later), The Undertaker's Ministry of Darkness being unlike anything we had ever seen before (up until the formation of the corporate ministry practically ruined it) and Mankind winning the Title as well as The Rock and Sock Connection was all pretty sweet (I know I had a lot of paranthesis and I'm not trying to be too negative towards the attitude era but some of the things I've been thinking of have something sticking out like a sore thumb). However, for every McMahon vs Austin there's a Big Boss Man vs Al Snow. For most of the potentially great stories there's an "IT'S ME AUSTIN!" For every WrestleMania 14 or 17 there's a 15 or 16. The standard that the Attitude Era set was never a high bar. Heck, I don't think any televised era in Wrestling set a high bar. But the thing they all shared in common was that they were all under the umbrella of a certain Mr. Vincent Kennedy McMahon. From what I've seen in the last few months, Wrestling right now is the best it's ever been and I hope it not only stays that way for the forseeable future but continues to get better and better setting the bar higher and higher than it's ever been... Ah who am I kidding some people will still think the Attitude Era is the "Greatest Era ever" just because they were told it was.
I stopped watching wrestling after 2014, it was becoming worse and worse but in the last 2 years especially after vince's permanent exit wrestling is as cool as it was in the attitude era and this is coming from someone that started with it! That drone with a camera is a subtle change but it honestly does so much.
At first I thought it did make the production sloppy, but afterwards I realized how cool of a moment that was
I didn't even notice the camera cuts of the past until someone pointed it out. Looking back at it makes me kind of dizzy lol.
It was so noticeable, I don't have epilepsy, but those cuts sure started to cause me to have the symptoms to where I always had to look away and waited for my wife to tell me its safe.
I'll never forget the seizure cuts shit was so goofy it took me outta the moment
Yeah, that was literally the reason i stopped watching, it makes me so dizzy too, thank God it's gone now
It also plague a lot of actions filma in the past as well thanks to Bourne series but since John Wick become more popular the shaky cam with multiple cuts isn't a thing anymore
Everything feels less corporate and more people having fun. It's crazy to see the energy shift just like that
I haven't cared this much about WWE since the Attitude Era aka WWF.
++
Chief reason: no more vince McMahon. There’s no denying he changed the business forever but he had long outstayed his welcome.
That's really cool that the wrestlers who worked for WWE all that time ago are now in charge. Awesome 👏
The more freedom wrestlers have, the more natural and realistic it feels.
Kevin Dunn and excessive camera cuts: The worst ever combo to make a fan dislike the product... Thankfully he's gone, and now things are going even better 💪🏻
WWE's production has massively improved after his departure. So many camera shots that weren't replicated before are now being used
This legit was one of the main reasons I quit watching WWE around 2019.
Perfect time for John Cenas final year to be a throwback to his Ruthless Aggression era and style
I never realized the impact it had with the commentators and the announcer. You covering it made me appreciate how much had changed
I tuned off wrestling around the ruthless aggression era… ever since HHH took over creative I tuned back in and feel like a kid watching it again!!!
There’s so much GOOD in this era of WWE. It’s a fantastic time to be a fan.
1.3 million viewers.
So much for the “wrestling boom”.
💯 it's been trending downwards for quite a while now. But no one wants to admit or acknowledge it
the biggest lie made by wrestling fans & wrestling media
traditional media is a dying medium
How much credit does Heyman deserve for this? Being a central figure for around 20 years, I think he deserves more than everyone else.
@@animejathe just destroyed R-Truth
I was one of those people that stopped watching around 2014 then I slowly got back into wrestling by watching indies until 2019 when double or nothing aired and I got hooked again. Anyways Cody was one of the most pivotal parts of that company to me and I’m glad he’s succeeding and leading the WWE renaissance, after wrestlemania XL I’m a fan of the WWE once again again can’t wait to watch it on Netflix!
seeing Michael Cole having fun at his job puts the biggest smile on my face lol
You didn’t even mention how the rebranding of NXT has done wonders
I've been watching it off and on. It doesn't feel as important to me as catching up on Raw and SmackDown for the PLE hype, but I do love watching some NXT and watching young stars like Trick Williams, Oba Femi, Ethan Page, Wes Lee, Joe Hendry, Roxanne Perez, Chase U, Axiom and Nathan Frazer, etc. just wild out and do insane shit. Can't wait to see some of these people in the main roster
But still NXT Black and Gold is very close to my heart.
There's been a lot of memorable pops the last 2 years, from Sami betraying Roman to Rey finally hitting Dominik to Cody ending Roman's championship reign.
You just convinced me to start watching wwe full time
Wrestlers clearly have more agency, are having more fun, the show has stakes, there's a vision for the future and not just barreling towards the next show directionless, and fan engagement and attention to detail is being rewarded again. Those and a whole bunch of other things, like a glut of new, exciting talent and stars being built in earnest.
Man i got invested to watching wrestling after all these years :3
Gonna start tuning in
THANK YOU TRIPLE WRESTLING!!!
No matter what you goofballs say the attitude era is unmatched. F#
They don't make remarks against each other like they did in the 2000s, because the brand wars are essentially over as y'all knew it from back then
@@animejat man, didn't know that. I my mind, Michael Cole was still doing both brands

No lie, i feel like Ive caught up with the WWE ever since i stopped watching since 2011..... good video !
Attitude ERA > Everything
nope.
get out of your nostalgia unc
I'm hoping it's going to be a blending of what was great about the attitude era and ruthless aggression but also still understanding it's a family show. They don't have to dumb things down but they don't have to be gratuitous either. Things are feeling more cinematic too, I appreciate. Howpfully netflix will bust open a creative window in 2025.
TNA is also on a Renaissance era. If only if only NXT Black and Gold was still around and AEW and Tony Khan decided to get their shit together.
Facts, i hope they can finally do the invasion angle right
NXT is pretty damn good.
So much potential being unlocked in these shows, Vince really held WWE back
That promo of Jey uso and Cody IS 1 of the funniest WWE moments in a long time
I think they are fostering an industry that is team-minded. Everyone working in unison as best they can to make the best product.

Great video. I started watching again this year after 20 years. Vince really was the problem.

I grew up watching in the Golden era. In my early 40s now. Unpopular opinion but how is this good for young kids?
It's gotten a little edgier lately but I think it's still appropriate for kids. NXT might be your best bet. It's on the CW and is the WWE's developmental brand where people work before going to Raw or Smackdown.
