We know the government is not going to help . But it takes the true American people to come together and help each other . Great video !

Every time we empty apple juice containers, 2 liters, etc we clean them out with bleach water and fill them up and store them for emergencies. I’ve actually had to use our water storage for bathing and flushing toilets and washing dishes when our water wasn’t working. You can never have too much water.
Also for human waste, make sure you have a way to dispose of it properly away from your living area. I found a cheap commode on Facebook marketplace once.

Hey there, dear sister! I bet most people won’t even consider getting black out curtains for the reasons you stated. However, years ago, we lost power in my suburban home. The Hobby and I went out after several hours and looked at the neighborhood and who had light and who didn’t. For many blocks, there was no one else in our neighborhood that had power. Only us. I can DEFINITELY see how that could cause a problem after a few days without electricity! Great recommendation. People in our neighborhood after that first day were acting like they were so shocked and it was the end of the world. AFTER JUST ONE DAY.
God bless you, dear sister, and all your loved ones! 🤗🙏🏼❤️

Well hey there, how have you been? What you guys experienced is EXACTLY what I’m talking about. People may lose it at some point if they know that others have power and they don’t. I feel like curtains offer some protection.
I appreciate the blessings so much! 🤗

So true! I keep tell people no one is coming to take care of you.
I've actually been brainstorming doing a video on this topic but from a financial aspect.

You can flush as long as the water is still running in a power outage. If the water isnt running you can quickly pour a gallon or so of water into the bowl and it will flush. But beware of sewage back up.
I have 2 cats and a huge supply of kitty litter, 13 gal and smaller garbage bags and 5 gallon buckets with seats to use in an emergency. Made some up for my 3 neighbors in my building but with pool noodles as the seat.
I'm happy to know you are safe❤️. Its unbelievable what has happened.

Absolutely devastating! Even preparedness only goes so far if everything is washed away. Bug out bags are my plans for the future. Prayers and financial assistance as you are able is so needed!!! American neighbors caring for one another. This has been an Epic Fail of this administration just like Katrina was. We can and should do much better. Yet we can afford billions to Ukraine! Ugh!! 😩

People who are on county/city water can usually flush. Those of us with wells operated by power do not have water and can't flush. You can flush once, but the toilet won't refill. If we are expecting storms or to be without power, we fill our tubs so we can dump a bucket of water in the toilet to flush.

I feel like once the Government was able to get away with not helping citizens during Hurricane Katrina, you haven't seen them adequately help in any disaster since.
Just do what you can something is better than nothing.

I have the camping toilet seat and bucket too. I've never had to use it thankfully but it is good to have. How would saw dust work instead of litter or the pellets?

Yea, you are right. No one is coming to your rescue. The cavalry is not coming over the hill to save your ass! I have a limited medical background having worked in cardiopulmonary diagnostics/respiratory therapy but I try to watch videos and stock up on medical books. I am trying to amass medical supplies and equipment. Quality medical equipment is soo expensive. I looked into buying a quality otoscope/ophthalmoscope and the cheap ones have bad reviews. The cheap ones are toys for a child for Halloween who is dressed up as a medical professional. The cheap ones are not for detecting eye or neurological issues. Save up and get quality equipment medical and learn how to use it. It is useless if you cannot rely on them.

    • @worldofappolonia
      @worldofappolonia  2 місяці тому

Exactly!! Hey, I feel like anyone with a medical background who has worked directly with patients excluding receptionist, or anything not providing more hands on care, administering meds, etc. is at an advantage. People need to know what an average BP looks like, what an average respiration rate looks like. You are so right about quality medical equipment being expensive. I know the otoscopes run at least $300+ 😬

Water system the community's pumps run on electricity. Appolonia, most prepping folks say to watch their older videos because that is when they did first, all the basics. That is an option. Or call upon those for material. I am certain most affected people with the hurricane will appreciate that.
