You said you got your license in NZ but your still waiting for a license in Ireland right. Well I'm Irish born Sligo but grew up in Auckland New Zealand but when I was in Ireland I was told I could swap my NZ license for an Irish license, a straight swap and they would send my NZ licence back to NZ. When I got back to NZ it wasn't cancelled and so I now have a permanent Irish license and my NZ licence. So all you need to do is swap your NZ license for an Irish license but know if you ever return to NZ your license will always be on file. You won't have to resit the license in NZ or in Ireland.
thanks for the heads up Sean! thats basically what I was thinking myself haha. Sure I'l be swapping probably for an auzzi licence when I arrive there next. It's pretty nice to have two different licenses though!
My wife and I have been following your adventures for some time now. Currently watching your NZ review. We are from Sydney but my wife was born in Wellington and went to school in the Wairapara. Love NZ, such a beautiful country and get back there when we can ( still some family there). So glad your 10 months was enjoyable and “mainly” positive. As an Aussie, Sydney born and bred, I hope your experiences here are equally memorable. Have been keeping an eye out for you on the streets to hopefully say hi. Always a room for you guys with us if you need somewhere to stay. Safe travels.
Nice summary guys. I've enjoyed your blogs. A lot of familiar places, and a lot of unfamiliar places, but its been great to see. A pity some people were a bit off, suing is definitely not a NZ thing, so I wonder where those people were coming from. You'll enjoy Aussie, I'm sure. As for places to live, I found British Columbia to be a great place, but I've also enjoyed living in Germany and Spain. Different places have different good things to experience. Travel well!!!
Tourists are so eager to head to the South Island, and it IS so much more beautiful. But the North Island has a lot going for it - and people are generally less jaded with tourists in the peak seasons. I loved watching your videos heading to the Hot Pool in Mt Maunganui - I live nearby. Always awesome to see my home through someone elses eyes. Cheers for the uploads.
thank you for sharing your adventures in NZ , My wife and I are huge fans of your videos, already looking forward to your future videos in Australia. make sure you get along to a NRL game while you there would love to get your impressions of the best game in the world (my humble opinion) Anyway good luck and best wishes to you both, Aaron and Deborah from Dunedin NZ
Awesome, thank you! we will try to get some videos made in Australia but it definitely will be more of a challenge as we need to save some money this time haha :)
Actually I have to admit: as someone that just moved back down south after 20 years up north, the pie game in the South Island really does seem stronger down here, you’re not wrong!
It was such a pleasure to follow your trip through my homeland. You are such a gorgeous couple. Looking forward to your experiences in Australia, our neighbours and cousins 😍 Awful about your woofing experience but sounds like everything else made up for it. Blessings and love from New Zealand.
Hey Guys. So glad to have had the opportunity to watch the incredible footage and your honest travelling experience in our country. You're both such a credit to your own countries and a great example of being open to new experiences and I honestly got emotional when you both travelled and stayed in Tauranga which is close to my hometown of Waihi Beach. And also on the flip side the negative experiences dealing with a small % of people who will always take advantage of you. But, I being a Kiwi feel you need to just point out to people that you will be satisfied to have your own rating on both good and not so good. I'd have given that lady/individual a zero ⭐Rating. People who plan their overseas trips will do there own research to get the kind of wonderful experience from UA-camrs like yourselves who are very genuine lovely people as you both have shown not to the people in Ireland/Germany but across the globe who have seen the best of what our country has to offer and you both have given almost every experience a "Five Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐" rating. I would feel very thankful if I saw the very low rating as a early warning and make a inform decision based on the experience I would most certainly not be very grateful going through and I made the right decision for my emotional well being and the negative confrontation I would have avoided. Love you both🥰🥝.
Please, please, please could you show us what your part of Germany and Ireland are like and the rich history I can only imagine those places you both grew up in would have been like. You two are by a country mile THE BEST UA-camr hosts and content creators I have had the utmost enjoyment and have given me such a great sense of pride that you chose NZ to share your journey. I so love the organic authenticity you both show your appreciation for the things I take for granted being a kiwi country boy. I've been in aussie 35+ years but will know my heart is across the ditch. Love u both. Don't ever change what you guys have because it's authentic and unique. You have it all over 95% I have seen on UA-cam and you two are #1!
we spent most of April in New Zealand, although we had been to Australia about ten times in our lives, we had never visited New Zealand. Well New Zealand is spectacular, people for the most part very friendly and always want to hear about the UK, as the ties are so strong. The countryside is fabulous and very varied between North and South Islands ! Would we ever want to live there, well on balance no, as it's just so far from Europe and we have just as spectacular mountains, fjords, rolling countryside etc. etc, but so glad we went and just lovely memories after 5 thousand kilometres of driving.
Glad you got a taste of the special New Zealand :) its definitely an incredible place. your totally right about being so far away from Europe! we definitely feel the same way.
Kia Ora Glen and Mado + Mado and Glen. Seems 10 months went so fast too fast. You’ll always be our whānau fave. Mado’s humour and food reviews. Glen driving you guys around NZ and coffee reviews. Eggs for breakfast! Wish you guys the very best. Mauri Ora!

There's nothing like the experience of a wooden boat, if you've never been on one. The smell of the timber from the boat sort of reminds me of older times and is somehow comforting.

I am from NZ and had traveled to around 20 countries in the world, before I travelled around New Zealand. I would always get the questions while I travelled, what is New Zealand like? what is Queenstown like? What is Milford, Fox Glacier, Hobbiton? And more... And my answer was don't know I've only been to a few places around NZ. In 2015 I came back and was like right I am sick of these questions, and people are right I have not seen these places. So that year its What I did. I spent 5 weeks travelling around NZ... And was blown away. Since 2016 I have driven Tour Coaches filled with Tourists around my Country and love showing people all the things to be seen around NZ! Its something I wish I had started ages ago! Just found your videos today and have watched three of them. And will watch more!!! Its awesome seeing your sense of discovery as you travelled and even some little places around the country that I did not know was there! Like you I love discovering these little communities of people or out of way food places in some unexpected places!! Subscribed!

U guys are g8, hard work tubing for sure.. sorry to hear about negative experiences, unfortunately there's a few shitti folk everywhere. Last trip to Europe was snowy Dec in Germany, absolutely loved it, picture perfect. Cheers
Haha wow thats insane! glad you enjoyed your moments in Europe :) We also went to the canary islands last year which was awesome. I feel New Zealand is definitely the place to retire in! Hope Germany treated you well too :)
You should do a re-edit video and call it “Glen and Mado’s Pie 🥧 tour of New Zealand 🇳🇿”. If you still have all the raw footage, it would be a fun 🤩 video to make.
You showcased our country so beautifully it was heartbreaking to see Mado so upset over selfish people. Sadly human nature at its worst is not geographical and can appear any where. We love you both travel safe and thank you for coming to NZ come again better still MOVE here xoxo

Thanks for all the great videos Glen and Mado. Have so enjoyed them. I am sad to see you leave our shores. I too am sorry you encountered a bad experience or two. Just one thing... you say it is safe here to travel on your own. We have had some foreign travellers murdered in New Zealand. I think we appear to be safer than we are because of surface friendliness. All tourists need to be cautious.. just saying. Anyway, safe journeys to you both and I look forward to seeing your adventures in Australia.
My wife & I lived in London for 4.5 yrs and loved it. Loved travellingto France & Italy. We didn't get to Germany or Ireland, even tho my wife is 1/2 Irish! Loved Thailand for 2 mths, Vietnam, Cambodia, Mexico, Ntherlands Belgium. Our son was born in London, but we wanted him to grow up in NZ with all his cousins. We are coming back soon, so much to see in Europe.
Loved your 10 month tour of NZ. I'm an ex kiwi living in North Qld. You should definitely do Queensland when you move over here we have a beautiful and diverse state. Looking forward to following you again. Again thanks for the great tour of NZ 😊❤
Around 15 minutes, you say that New Zealand has water refill stations and public bathrooms. But visiting from the USA in 2019, I was actually stricken by how hard it was to find public bathrooms and water. In the US, we have water fountains at public parks. In New Zealand, I had to stop at cafes to get water refills, even at the mall in Auckland! I wonder if that has changed recently.
You guys !, It’s brilliant, all your videos, such a pleasure watching them. It really helps me to prepare my 6 months in NZ from the start of next January onwards. With my border collie dog!! Seeing all these sheep outside of towns - she’s goin go mad !! 😅. Advice please - I’d like to stay somewhere nice on the north shore out of Auckland , but still not too far from CBD? Davonport, Takapuna, glenfield, Albany, wairau, browns bay? I’m after cosy cafes , and not too far from the ocean. Thank you guys !!
So glad you enjoyed our journey, it was definitely a special one! gives a different insight of the country too. We honestly liked Devonport it was a beautiful location with lovely sunsets :)

Hi Guys, good to see you had a really good time here and enjoyed your visit. Just an update about this visit summary video, it has been viewed by the New Zealand Government's Tourism Promotion Committee for assessment of the services available in New Zealand for visitors. The situation on woofing is under intense investigation and strict visitor protections are going to be introduced to stop bad experiences from happening. The types of duties and amount of hours being sought from visitors to do them is one of the biggest concerns, especially when many complaints about these 2 main areas are being made more often. Being asked to work the equivalent of 4 hours per day for a bed, breakfast, and an evening meal is considered too much in relation to the casual wage rates payable in New Zealand. The New Zealand Inland Revenue Department is formulating details related to taxation due to the explosion in people being employed to work to do work that registered contractors are available to do. "Woofing" is going to be subjected to normal employment laws to prevent further abuse of position by some of the people involved.
Hi Mado and Glen I have followed your travels around N.Z. I apologise on behalf of Kiwis for your bad experiences with certain people :( don't worry about them as they are not worth another thought. I am in my mid 60's am not a typical kiwi though as I have never travelled out side of N.Z as I have never felt the need as here we do have it all, I have seen all parts of NZ and would rather spend my money on our local communities. Good luck with your future adventures. Thank you very much for the memories from my own travels :)

You guys have always been hard working with good faith we are lucky a slice of heaven best thing about new Zealand Glen and mado ❤
Just want to say it was a pleasure having u and mado stay with us, and the family in both islands enjoyed hosting you both .There is always a room for you two in the future if you ever make it back. I am so pleased one of mados highlights was the high tea at GVR loved all your videos and especially the “plamy” one 😂 all the best hope our path cross again 🤗🤗
Thanks Mike means a lot my friend♥️ we had a blast!
I loved all af your videos in New Zealand!!
Also, I'm so excited to see the videos in Japan which is where I'm from‼
You said you got your license in NZ but your still waiting for a license in Ireland right.
New Zealand is incredibly beautiful. Love Tauranga…❤
incredible place indeed ❤️❤️
Legends 🏆
Was so impressed first tourists I saw do Cannons Creek
They never warned you ... we will get you back
#NewZealandProud
We want to be authentic haha :) who knows, we don't have a plan yet!
It's great you both had marvelous time in New Zeland ...@glenandmado all your's video's were great made and very well presented...
thanks so much for tuning in on our adventures Martin!
@@GlenAndMado am looking forward to see more adventures from places what's next on your tour list 😄👍👍..
Great video! Love your content and will keep watching everything you do and perhaps your older videos if I have time.
Thanks for all of your awesome vids! And don't forget NZ is only a very short flight from Australia 😉

thank you for sharing your adventures in NZ , My wife and I are huge fans of your videos, already looking forward to your future videos in Australia. make sure you get along to a NRL game while you there would love to get your impressions of the best game in the world (my humble opinion) Anyway good luck and best wishes to you both, Aaron and Deborah from Dunedin NZ
It's best at a Warriors game!
Awesome, thank you! we will try to get some videos made in Australia but it definitely will be more of a challenge as we need to save some money this time haha :)
I enjoyed every one of your vids. thanks kids 👍
I love the way you just 'winged it' when you got here ! That is real exploring
Actually I have to admit: as someone that just moved back down south after 20 years up north, the pie game in the South Island really does seem stronger down here, you’re not wrong!
Aww this was an insight, I didnt realise you had those challenges ❤
Will continue to follow. Just be careful out there guys.
Don't worry Donna we are always careful :)
Good shit lad and lass. Look out for the eshays in Sydney adlays
Im glad you guys had an awesome time in my mother land Aotearoa, happy you guys are heading over to Aus, please Let us know when you guys arrive.
Thank you! Will do! should be in September :)
Loved your videos of your travels in NZ Glen & Mado Looking forward to your future ones. Best wishes from 86 year old Barry, Whitianga
@@GlenAndMado Looking forward to your next adventure Guys xx
Kia Ora Glen and Mado + Mado and Glen. Seems 10 months went so fast too fast. You’ll always be our whānau fave. Mado’s humour and food reviews. Glen driving you guys around NZ and coffee reviews. Eggs for breakfast! Wish you guys the very best. Mauri Ora!
Unlucky with the suing situation. definitely sounds like abit of a weirdo. Regardless I’ve loved watching all of your NZ videos. Thanks for visiting our country and showing your experiences. All the best for your future travels.

You two are amazing. Do remember a lot of how you are received is down to your great positive attitude. Being a Buxton lass who spent many years in the Teviot Valley, I am so sorry you missed out on a Jimmys pie from Roxburgh. Venison and red currant my fav. I also loved your Gore video. Best ads ever for travel to NZ. Thanks guys
Beautiful work,be a pleasure to host you or friends if ever you decide to visit again,as for that negativity you guys experienced most kiwis would of walked, have really enjoyed your honesty you have shown and shared
There's nothing like the experience of a wooden boat, if you've never been on one.
The smell of the timber from the boat sort of reminds me of older times and is somehow comforting.
Love this video the best the way yous deal with being miss treated yous are awesome real people
haha sure like I said you need to laugh or cry about any situation :) you'll only make yourself more miserable creating bad energy and worrying about the situation!
Im so glad you loved our country and had an amazing time ❣️
For me..the burleigh pie shop pork belly..just wow...anyway thank u Glenn and mado for your awesome vlogs of our beautiful country.. looking forward to your pacific islands content...peace and love!
To sue some one years ago was not realy a thing , it is such a brutal way of dealing with isues' I loved the way you reached out and bridged gaps . With the likes of Otara etc we love you both may God pour out His Blessing on you both .Lots of Love from Peter Havelock Nth HB .
Yeah it should be dealt with some nice communication and a tea around the table haha. Otara will always be in our hearts, such an awesome place!
Subscribed!
From a kiwi now living back in NZ after 23 yrs away in mostly Europe. Last place was Canary Islands,l for 2 yrs, which I loved.l, wonderful genuine people.
Thats so funny! and it would probably preform super well too 😂😂😂
Glen is a bloody legend, just gets on with it through all the negatives when you travel.
You showcased our country so beautifully it was heartbreaking to see Mado so upset over selfish people. Sadly human nature at its worst is not geographical and can appear any where. We love you both travel safe and thank you for coming to NZ come again better still MOVE here xoxo
I’m from Dunedin and loved your perspective of my home country. Live in Queensland these days and can only advise you to get out Sydney as much as possible, it’s like Auckland on steroids, ugh!
Yikes yeah we heard haha, basically need to put the head down and make some money for our next goals!
Fantastic video's.glad you avioded the rubbish area's..absolute real portral of our country, sharp work.Thanks..
Wellinton,NZ
All the best in oz guys,c ya🇳🇿
Thanks for all the great videos Glen and Mado. Have so enjoyed them. I am sad to see you leave our shores. I too am sorry you encountered a bad experience or two. Just one thing... you say it is safe here to travel on your own. We have had some foreign travellers murdered in New Zealand. I think we appear to be safer than we are because of surface friendliness. All tourists need to be cautious.. just saying. Anyway, safe journeys to you both and I look forward to seeing your adventures in Australia.
Thanks again for visiting Porirua/Waitangirua! you two are amazing people!
Yous are awesome stay positive and god bless you guys
Thank you for all your videos ❤
What a lovely recap, UA-cam should take notes on how to do recaps.
Thanks for your visit to the land of the long white cloud 💯🇳🇿
Loved your 10 month tour of NZ. I'm an ex kiwi living in North Qld. You should definitely do Queensland when you move over here we have a beautiful and diverse state. Looking forward to following you again. Again thanks for the great tour of NZ 😊❤
Tip Top ice cream, also the real cream ice cream flavours 😋
Around 15 minutes, you say that New Zealand has water refill stations and public bathrooms. But visiting from the USA in 2019, I was actually stricken by how hard it was to find public bathrooms and water. In the US, we have water fountains at public parks. In New Zealand, I had to stop at cafes to get water refills, even at the mall in Auckland! I wonder if that has changed recently.
This video makes me proud to be New Zealander 🇳🇿
I feel you! its a magical country! you guys got everything.
The Routeburn Track was spectacular, Doubtful Sound so many places really. Hobiton. Did you see Weka Studios in Wellington?
We never checked it out unfortunately!
Great experience guys! Well done 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@GlenAndMado thank you I appreciate it. I’ll probably spend a month in dovenport, then down to tauronga and I’ll base myself there…
Most amazing country and people, everywhere you go it beautiful, hard place to leave after a visit,
The maori language has a different set of vowels than the A E I O U. That we use, so to pronouns the the places you need to learn them. Love watching your adventures. I am kiwi born I haven't been home for 38 years but watching your shows has got me a little home sick again, l am from Tauranga. Love your work guys 😊
"Woofing" is going to be subjected to normal employment laws to prevent further abuse of
position by some of the people involved.
It was lovely you were both here I watched all your kids where next l9ve from nz
When New Zealanders go to other countries, when it's time to go home they can't wait ❤
Doubtful Sounds and the Catlins were my favourite spots in the South Island
