I have the black bezel with green insert (BN0155-08E) and it's running at +7 seconds a year. Plus 1 second every 52 days!

I love hearing things like this. There's a ton of snobbery about quartz movements and it's not at all justified.

The apocalypse watch! I have this one on a strap code bright orange rubber strap. Matches the minute hand perfectly! Great watch!

I can definitely see this rocking on an orange strap.

I become excited about watches based on their aesthetic appeal, bezel size and metal bracelet style. Price also plays a big part in the buying decision and I am not a brand snob. When it comes to the movement I have no particular preference for either quartz or mechanical but what I do demand is accuracy. Some mechanical movements are calibrated quite well but can never match the accuracy of even the cheapest quartz movement. I am a big fan of the Eco-Drive system provided by Citizen. I own two Citizen watches and both have Eco-Drives and the oldest one is 27 years old still using it's original rechargeable battery and keeping reasonably accurate time. Citizen are the architects of the most accurate watch ever produced and it also uses the Eco-Drive system but the movement is something else with an annual accuracy of +/- 5 seconds and this without correction aids such as GPS or bluetooth to cell phone. It has also been proven that a quartz movement is far more reliable as a diver watch particularly during deep diving.

I have a citizen Chronomaster myself. The high accuracy quartz is so good. Grab n' Go perfection.

Just got this watch at a Citizen store in an outlet mall with 65% discount on the retail price. Great watch and for a 140 bucks it’s unbeatable.

That's a great deal - I'd buy another one as a spare if I saw that kind of price 🤣

This Promaster series is my favorite watch of all time. Its just fantastic on every level. The only thing I would improve on them would be the super firm strap when its new!

it really is one of the best watch lines out there at any price point. Don't like eco-drive? boom, get you an automatic. Don't like the strap? Boom, get it on a bracelet. So unpretentious that no regular joe will ever make notice of it - but so beloved by watch nerds that they'll always notice it.

Only negative is stiff silicone strap but Zuludiver 285 natural rubber strap is good replacement.

That's good to know. Zuludiver makes some excellent and affordable straps.

I am always on the fence with this watch due its size.
I once had Seiko Samurai with similar lug to lug and diameter and ended up sold it because of the size.

I had the same concern. It wears smaller than the measurements would suggest

      @OldLineWatches  6 місяців тому +1

I agree with Roberts comment. Sometimes watches with the same mm measurements can wear completely differently. I also parted with my Samurai because it sat too big. The Promaster sits just fine. 6.75" wrist

It's also thinner, so sits better

Very solid. I used one to defend myself from a mugger. Beat him senseless with the power of eco-drive.

I have the Promaster BNO 150.
Bought four months ago, came on that uncomfortable rubber/polyurethane strap.
I wore it for one month then ordered the BRAC 35 ( oyster ) stainless steel bracelet from Long Island watch.
Its really nice, very comfortable and dresses up the watch quite well.
This watch is built like a tank and can take anything i can give, keeps perfect time in four months , no battery changes every two years.
Its grab and go without worry.
Citizen watches are criminally under rated.

I have been on a strong Citizen vibe for a few months now. I was lucky enough to pick up an older Chronomaster a few months ago and I'm still in love with it. I love that Mark saw a lack of good bracelet for that model and decided to step in to fill it.
