      Thanks Country Boy for dropping by. I have lots of ride vids already to have a look at, and I will continue to create more of those. But starting this Friday I will be publishing some content that will be different in theme and style from previously.
      I hope to see you there, please let me know what you think.

    Thank you Robert for all that you've done and all that you will do. You don't know it but your channel helped me escape what was a confusing (bad) and difficult time in my life. I was able to imagine myself on the rides with you.
    When you are ready to continue ,I for one , will be here watching. No rush, no pressure, just when you are ready. I'm also kind of excited to see what you come up with, moving forward. Very photogenic shoulder too. Take care my friend.

      That is such a super comment, and they do the same, or more, for me, then what my channel has done for you. I am starting with new content this coming Friday, not motorcycle rides for the first few vids, but I do have a few lined up later in the season. I hope you enjoy this other stuff as well, please let me know.
      And thanks for taking the time for the great comment.

      Well, as I mentioned, your vids have helped me with ideas for different subject material and how to present it.
      The movie set was a good reminder of things I had known and forgotten. It also was a lot of fun.
      Learning both technical and creative skills is a great way to keep our minds sharp and as we get older......, I forgot where I was going with this! Anyway keep making videos on UA-cam!

    Yes!!! Robert, this is awesome news! I have mentioned to you before, you’re on my Mt Rushmore of content creators. Your work has been nothing shy of outstanding, always showing riders what’s out there, giving us trails and destinations to consider on our future trips, places to stay. I just know whatever content you create, it will be top notch, brother. Your content encourages the community. I’m sure many live vicariously thru your adventures, with hopes of themselves riding one day. You’re very good out in front of the camera too! 2023 is looking very bright for you, and I can’t wait to see the exceptional footage you share with us. You made my day, buddy! Great work as always Robert. For everyone who takes 10 hours to edit a few minutes of final video!!!!! And to being typecast, I'm reminded of a song when I was young..."All you have to do is.........act naturally :) Love your content.

      @RobertMerz  Рік тому

      Thanks so much 2v2w! I do put in a ton of time to edit my vids, it is probably a testament to my lack of skill! But seriously I want to create something that is the best I can do, something that people will enjoy, and something I can be proud of. That is why I really appreciate comments, especially from fellow creators, that recognize the effort I have put in.
      As to acting naturally I think that is how I got typecast! But seriously I have been told that my resting face can very easily be perceived as the face of an angry man, however while on camera I had to suppress a smile a couple times because it was fun to be there and see what was going on.

      Spoiler alert, my first new vid of the season will be this Friday and I am thinking you will enjoy it. I never have been asked to use my collection in movies, aside from on UA-cam I don't really advertise what I have.
      The storyline of the movie was about Indian immigrants coming to BC looking for a better life and the obstacles they encountered, including the push back from the people already here that felt threatened. A storyline that is quite accurate to BC. It is also a storyline that has been reenacted all over the world and throughout history. It was a very good story. I was one of the threatened people already here. The movie had a worldwide release and at the end of the show that I saw the audience, which was entirely Indian, stood up and clapped. I have never seen this in a theatre before. I may not be typecast yet, however I would be quite willing to play an angry white guy again for Chhalla 2 if they need me!

    It is fun to watch the people that make a living doing it - do their stuff.
    I have been part of 3 music videos and 1 short film within the last year... as background actor, and many other things including where I was once called a production assistant, and consultant (short film won best costumes from what I did). Just today I got to be a part of a production meeting before shooting some scenes of a music video, they liked my thoughts, and I became a background actor at the last minute when scenes changed on the fly. I am willing to do anything they need of me, and 2 small local studios are happy with me for that reason.
    But watching how they record scenes and come up with a plan - really wants me to take my videos up a notch on cinematography. Using some of their commentary - I think I can.
    Barkerville would have been a hoot, I haven't been there in years.

    • @RobertMerz
      @RobertMerz  Рік тому

      Goes back to the learning thing you were talking about. Whether it is taking courses or learning by doing (and these days with help from Google) we should never stop learning. Being on the set reminded me of some things that I had once known and since forgotten, as well as giving me some ideas I wanted to adapt to my own needs and abilities and try.
      Barkerville seems to be undergoing some changes, politically, and therefore economically driven.. The narrative is being changed to suit our present times. The buildings at least stay the same.

    I am humbled my friend. You helped me when I was hanging on day by day. I struggled to see the sense in continuing to fight for my mobility. Then I'd sit down and watch one of your videos, doing what I so desperately wanted to do again, and go to all those same places, and I'd have the impetus to fight another day.
    And now as I struggle to see the sense in continuing with UA-cam, you have, again, given me a reason to continue. I'm so thankful for your words and your continued support.
    I'm anxious to see what you have in store for us. If this video is any indication, it's going to be really good. I'm excited for the new content!

    Whew, that was a tough one to hang on for, but I held tight (80% view time is the most important factor) and glad I did the last part is the best! I've had a channel for years, initially just to share family videos, but everything has changed. Have recently gotten back into sharing with shorts and doing research on channel pushing algorithms. Good footage and great stories, but I think this video is slow to keep a viewer. Maybe more edit changes and starting with your story, then giving kudos to other channels?

    • @RobertMerz
      @RobertMerz  4 місяці тому +1

      At 80% you did very well!
      You are right, it is way too slow a pace, especially with my speaking. I probably did this video more for myself. I enjoy working through all the technical and there is a lot in this vid. Starting with the background which is all created post, I am actually just sitting in front of a green screen. I also did it for my hardcore fans that would sit through it to see what my plans were. Glad you liked the last part, being involved in a big production was a lot of fun, as well as educational!
      As I mentioned in this video, and as you probably know as a creator, comments are really appreciated, thank you so much!

I knew-of Kevin & Wayne before they even met Dave and gave themselves that Group Title. I encouraged them to start that Motorcycle Stream. It was also Me who invited "SHHH Moto Travels into the Canadian Guys Streams. I made not have a lotta videos in the last decade, but I started watching MotoVids back in 2009 and started my Channel in 2013. I am subscribed to just less the 1,000 other MotoChannels and its way too much for me. I have decided about 5-years back that I would not concentrate on any Male MotoChannels from outside Canada. I now focus on MotoLadies or MotoCouple from all over the world and Canadian MotChannels mostly.
