Are twist-it-up-combs good for when you are going for free forms? I have a sponge brush but my friends are picky when it comes to me twisting their hair.
i had freeforms like in september after the summer but ian like them no more so i combed it out and just started growing my hair but now i want my freeforms back and ima keep em for the rest of the school year this time and i might even retwist them later on

U untwist the cause they're locking and after you maintain the routine using locking gel if they're not already locking and useing Rubber bands at night
I have a question not for u but everyone on here I use the brush method and my hair is locked should I keep brushing it cause I feel like it messes up my locs should I keep brushing it or let it freeform?

@@op-wc5lg pretty much once u take them out , their freeforming so u can leave it and it will do it’s thing or if you want it to look a specific way u can use a sponge , towel and twist your hair with your fingers etc
i was thinking the exact same thing. enlighten me because with free forms, you gon have some thick locs so u want your roots to be as strong and supportive as possible. if u keep picking your hair out to make it stand, wouldnt it just delay the locking up at the roots to support each other. Sounds more semi free form rather than free form to me currently
@@AllisOneOneisAll typically you would wait until your hair is at least 2 inches, take a shower and after a few hours when it’s dry, slightly pick the roots. To help this process make sure you put rubber bands around the dreads you want to pick out, these should be your main safe methods of maintaining your roots for free forms. Worked wonders for me💪🏿

I just do finger coils when starting it off sponges start breaking hair and not as worth it when your hair gets longer
