THIS IS TERRIFYING OMG
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
She must have remembered
This is why you try to see obscure bands as much as possible.
I make friends with them on FB & UA-cam. You never know who's going to make it big. I'm mentioned in the sleeve notes of a Darkness album, chatted with the VNV Nation singer about the parking at Goodwood Festival of Speed, and got invited to a party by one of Madonna's producers (I couldn't go, sadly)
Yep. I saw both Linkin Park and Imagine Dragons in small venues shortly before they blew up. Believe it or not Imagine Dragons put on an incredible show. Can’t stand their albums though.
I saw bring me the horizon for £5 in a bar next to my college. Was about 40 of us lol now i can't get a ticket after 1 min past going on sale.
Unfortunately music psychology has dictated that the majority of people won’t do that as they prefer familiarity and popularity
Unfortunately it's not as easy as it used to be to get noticed.
My friends band, Trash Monroe, has been going since 2003 and haven't been given the chance to get signed.
They're a really talented band, but it seems like no one is interested in bands that don't sound like bands that are already out there.
Incredible the maturity in her voice at the age of 17!
I think she was 18 at the time
@@helendarkness666 She was actually 17. She was born Dec 13, 1981.

She also graduated in 2000
Yeah it's scary when you compare it to now, I'm only 21 but even in highschool, 17 year olds looked and sounded like they were still in middle school. What happened to us lmao.
6:55 - Whisper
13:00 - Imaginary
17:00 - Where Will You Go
20:51 - Catherine
26:20 - Exodus
31:30 - Give Unto Me
37:10 - (Don't Fear) The Reaper - Blue Öyster Cult cover
42:40 - Understanding (Wash It All Away)
48:00 - Lies
55:05 - Solitude
Thanks.
Thank you

I cant believe she wrote these songs at 17! how incredible.
17 is the age she was at this live gig, she wrote those songs from ages 13-15. She wrote all of the songs on Fallen between the ages of 13 and 19. Some pre-Fallen songs she wrote when she was 13, like Imaginary and Solitude. Solitude is the first song she ever composed for Evanescence. She's been writing music since she was 10, before she started Ev. She's a classically trained pianist and a multi-instrumentalist.
Her, Ben, and David I think. I have listed to her stuff after Ben left, and Ben's stuff after leaving, and neither compare to what they created together. When they write together the results are so amazing.
i need video like that, wonderfull
Dont forget Ben.
Hard to believe they are now in their 40s.
This is beyond amazing to see. Never knew this existed. Despite their lack of stage presence, and problems with the sound at the venue, Amy Lee's raw talent is so clear here.
I had a dog named mollie
Like a cairn terrier mix like in your pfp🥹
Miss our girls sweetpea & mollie 💔
why does stage presence matter? she's not a fuckin clown out there for your amusement dancing to entertain you. she is an artist. stage presence is worthless. I have seen so many "performers" who are all about putting on a show and have great "stage presence" but they suck, they aren't artist they aren't actually talented . you disgust me.
Young Any Lee from 25 years ago didn't knew how big, and important for many of us she was going to be. This is archaeology for the Evanescence history. Thanks for sharing this piece of art.
@@ThanatosSD too bad the quality of evanescense went to We are the fallen.
@@nessnake123 Too sad that We Are the Fallen didn't released anything since their debut album. An album I really like.
@@nessnake123 Calling WATF quality, a bootleg AI-like knockoff of Fallen and juvenile, pathetic attempt by a talentless hack and abus;er to get attention, is hilarious 😂 Meanwhile, Ev musically expanded and got even better over the years, in the recent decade have released their most critically praised albums, are a tight musically dynamic band with great musicians, and as an independent band have had success every era, even playing their biggest solo show EVER in 2023 at a stadium to 40,000 people.

Wow thank you for the video! I remember first time I saw "Bring me to life" video late night on MTV and immediately fell in love with the song. Oh how the album Fallen stayed in my CD player my senior year in 2003 when I was 17 and it went with me whenever I drove my brother's car. I remember still listening to the album on my iPod in 2008 when I was in the service and deployed to Camp Fallujah, Iraq. Life comes at you fast. I'll be 39 in a couple weeks.

It's so funny to watch the whole concert and see how they went under many troubles, being totally unknown, to get where the band is right now. And Stephanie is so talented. She should be known worldwide as Evanescence is.
That's pretty much every band. most , unfortunately, dont make it. They had something that stood out, also it was the right time for it. Evenesence is a case of perfect timing.
@@Antifaith29 I'd argue they stood apart from every band they played with and had a sense of real success as soon as they got the proper exposure. Amy looks unbelievably confident here and I think the band collectively were aware there was a very real chance someone would sign them

I don't think people realize how long an hour long set is when bands are this small. Props.
Could use more props…
With all due respect, I don't think you realize how common it is for small bands to play hour long sets, or longer. It's commonplace in small local band scenes. When my band was coming up, we played countless shows with local bands on the bill, and very often, there would be 3 small local bands in a row playing 50-60 minute sets. And this wasn't just where I came up. Small bands all around the United States, and world, would play hour long sets and something longer. It's where you cut your teeth and hone your live show as a musician. Now, if you're a small upcoming band who's taken on tour in support of a larger band, you may not get a full hour as an opener. But shows that are composed, solely of other local bands or bands your size, will almost always play at least an hour. It would be less common to play a shorter set on that type of show.
An hour is not even getting started for bands who care. Most people who love music recreation can piss an hour of covers they love.
@@TokenTombstone Is Evanescence a cover band?
@@INeverWanted2010 I'd say no, however we both know they have sneaked a few here or there.
This is a awesome video. She was such a talented teenager and is a insanely talented woman.
Her youthful voice was so unique. It had this really light, angelic, innocent, vulnerable, soft sound to it, yet it was haunting and nostalgic. This was what made her stand out and won her fame. She kind of lost that with age however. Her voice darkened, it got more weight and depth to it and nowadays she sounds more powerful than soft. She still has beautiful, breathy, soft vocals whenever she wants to, but her voice has gotten so much stronger. I miss this youthful side to it. The last time we got to hear this voice was in the "Fallen" era. Of course she was still young then. It was only natural that she'd end up sounding more like a woman, but still, I can't help but miss that sound. It was what attracted me to Evanescence initially. That being said, she's improved so much vocally in regards to control and technique. She surely matured vocally. It's just that for me, there is nothing that will ever replace this youthful sound of her voice.
yah ive always felt the same way
Agreed
Yes, you're right before the Evanescence Album (2011) Amy had something very beautiful in her voice, the vulnerability.
But I think that she still has this, since her voice in the interviews is not so much different, however somehow she prefers to use her "opera" voice.
@@TrueBeliever04 Why the quotations?
Her voice is the best it's ever been today plus with herbnaturally darkened timbre that's even more enigmatic and dynamic
kinda weird to know that this video was from 1999...
They had semi-high quality camcorders back then, though they were incredibly expensive and still nowhere near as good as what we have now.
I searched for a backing vocal Stephanie Pierce on all social networks, but not one I found. Can anyone answer if she continued working with music?
They would invite friends to help them with shows. So she probably didn't continue music.
Hello Anailton! I don't want to violate a lot of Mrs. Stephanie's privacy, but I am a student of her's. She has a career now as a vocal teacher at my high school. You probably can not find anything related to her because she married. She is a wonderful teacher, is very talented, and is the highlight of everyone's day.

This is a must listen for those who want to know the origins of Amy Lee's singing.
Truly vintage video of Young Amy singing 1999, pre-breakout!
You can hear the raw talent.
To bad America didn't appreciate that type of music with female vocals in early 2000s. In Europe she would be a gothic queen together with Anneke van Giersbergen. You can see a huge difference between this and Fallen sound with this forced version of Bring Me To Life which had to be in nu metal style with rap cause that type of music was popular in USA back then. So annoying:/
She needs to re-record Imaginary...this version gave me goosebumps 😱💕 And “Don’t Fear the Reaper!” OMG 💙
Look up Imaginary Origin Evanescence.
