I AM SOOOO Jealous!!! Love me the big block Impalas. My first car was '71 Custom Coupe that modified the heck out of over 10 years. It had a 396 turbo 400 in it and 10 bolt posi when I was done with it. Searching now for a new toy, '58 Impala but restomoded with newer running gear. That or, '65-70 Impala with big block and bucket seats.
I can’t believe the mice didn’t make more nests out of the seats and sound deadening. They sure used it to go to the bathroom though. Glad to see it being saved. Keep the videos coming.
I love the 69 Caprice/Impala 2 door coupes. When I was a kid, we lived a few houses down from a golf course. A couple of friends of my parents stored their golf cart at our house. They just happened to be salesmen at our local Chevrolet dealer. Whenever they came out to get their golf cart to go golfing, they would drive a different Impala or Caprice to our house. I would always check out what they drove and the Impala and Caprices were what they would bring. It was like bringing the showroom floor to our house. Great memories. They never did bring out one with a 4 speed though. You have something special there. I enjoy watching you working on yours. I forgot to say that one day they did bring out a 69 Camaro pace car convertible. I was in Heaven that day. 😀
Look for the Broadcast sheet under the rear seat. This will tell you all the things the factory put in the car when it was built. Sometimes the broadcast sheet is there or under the front seat (which you don't have ) or even up under the dash. Worthy of keeping if you can find it. This is a gem of a car that will be awesome once restored. Don't give up on it.

great job with the pallet racks to hold all of the parts.was hoping you would find a build sheet tucked in the seat springs or maybe that wasnt a GM thing?what a rare optioned car,just a time capsule for sure. i found a few silver dimes when pulled the seat out of my 1960 ford f100 but that was about it except for the usual mouse house stuff. cant wait to see more on this car.

Huge transformation, looks great and all those classics look perfect sitting in there. BTW, it’s nice seeing fathers step up more these days, I salute you for being a present father. Unfortunately me and my ex wife divorced back in 2002 and I solely raised both of my sons myself as thier mother chose not to be in thier lives, believe me, the relationship I have with my sons who are 27 and 29 now is amazing, not to mention being a grandfather has me over the moon with joy. Love your content, keep those videos coming 👍, Btw, I was so hoping to see the build sheet under that back seat, I’ve actually seen them mounted on top of the gas tank under the shield
I remember when it cost like 4 cents to mail a post card. Cheaper than a letter. They have electric upgrades for hide away headlights now. Detroit speed.
That’s a nice old car, luxurious for the time, and yet sporty as well. Once restored, should be a very nice car, they had a knack for building cars that could satisfy both worlds back then. The new offerings are highly technical, but lack the heart and soul of these old models, at least in my opinion. 👍

I'm thinking that in 88 the regular postage stamps were like 32 cents? Maybe less...hell I remember 22 cent .... but I'm old as dirt. In 88 I was 29 and on my way to prison for the first time. Cannabis smuggling.

They are still pretty reasonable.

The rear cardboard insert might have been for sound deadening , but also the whole cut out might have been for a rear window defroster motor
