6:12 "We evolve beyond the person that we were a minute before. Little by little, we advance a bit further with each turn. That's how a drill works! THAT'S TENGEN TOPPA!"
I thought about Vehicroids as well, and i came up with a few. A Ladder Firetruck that specialsummons from the Hand, a Crane that hooks a Vehicroid out of the Grave once per Turn, and a Helicopter who brings another Vehicroid with him from the Deck. Also, i would put a Text on all Vehicroids, in Parentheses, namestamping them as such, so to make the Effecttext writing easier
I'm happy with this, it makes this consistent with an actual gameplan for something. One last buff I recommend is a universal errata for all Vehicroid monsters to have Vehicroid in the name, so instead of Gyroid, it's Vehicroid-Gyroid. Just so future support can just say Vehicroid without any stipulations. Also I found it funny that Zane uses these badass cybernetic versions of mythical then you got cyrus with his goofy looking cartoon vehicles. P.S: You mind helping out Bastion/Daichi, I liked his science deck, especially the magnet warriors that made monsters plus and minus.
I have a Bastion deck planned but it's gonna focus on the chemical/bonding aspect. I tried adding in the magnets but it got really clunky and complex. I do intend to get to Magnet Warriors though (like Yugi's) and was thinking Bastion's could be looped there. What do you think?
Let's give Vehicroid a Miracle Contact called Recycle Fusion and it can only work with field GY and banished Also would be nice to see KONAMI add in the manga cards
If you're gonna' make us run the old Roids, for the new Fusions, then please add in a King of the Swamp style replacement effect, for a Monster. That new Evil Hero Prisma comes to mind.
Well that would defeat the purpose of making you play the old ones 😅 For real though I did consider it after seeing the Evil Prisma. The older roid fusions aren't much to write home about anyway, so I don't think the effect matters for anything other than Sky Patrol in these customs.
Feeling like the custom effect you gave Kiteroid could just as easily be put on a different card. The effect Duel Links gave it to be both a Kuriboh in the hand AND in the grave, not once per turn or even once per chain if one is negated, is a reason why it's been limited to 2
GX has so many cool archetypes to make customs of, but are you only gonna make support for decks that were made IRL or will you also do some that are still exclusive to the anime?
Edit: never mind I see you made one!! Just discovered your channel and really love the custom card videos. How do you choose archetypes, because i have always wanted Masked Beast to get support. Would be similar to Vendread as a Build-a-Boss monster focused deck and a few ritual monsters equipped with the masks for effects.
You can check out my take on Mask customs here! ua-cam.com/video/kFHsPM1zRe8/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared DM was a bit of an outlier since so few archetypes exist. So I went with the ones that do as well as turning iconic cards into archetypes. GX has more defined archetypes so mostly going to focus on the ones that had a meaningful presence in the anime, as well as any that folks are interested in.
In my honest opinion: they should have errataed the vehicroids to all of them being treated as vehicroids (i.e., this card is always treated as a vehicroid card). That way we can actually avoid them being lumped with speedroids.
So in the anime, Syrus Truesdale (the main user of the Roid cards) and Jaiden Yuki were best friends, so how about a “HERO”/“Roid” fusion monster to help tie the 2 pals archetypes together? Maybe something like “Super-HERO Vechicroid”?
Honestly given GX is the Fusion Season, I've always felt it needed a lot more inter-deck Fusions in general. There was UFOroid Fighter, Rainbow Neos and they recently released that Armed Dragon + Neos Fusions, but I wish most of the main cast got one to represent a bond. Syrus + Jaden, Syrus + Chumley, Syrus + Zane, Jaden + Misawa, Chazz + Misawa, Alexis + Atticus, Alexis + Zane, Zane + Atticus, Jaden + Alexis, Jaden + Zane, Jaden + Crowler, Jaden + Hassleberry, O'brien + Jim.I think would have all made some great Fusions.
I’ve always thought Syrus’ deck needed a secondary archetype, like some of the other characters got. Jaden had Elemental HEROs/Neo Spacians, Alexis had Cyber Girls/Angels, Zane had Cyber Dragon/Cyberdark, and Chaz had Armed Dragons/Ojamas/A-Z monsters.
Cyrus used Cyberdarks with Roids in S4 but they never tried to synergize those archetypes IRL and honestly, you can't really do that now so i'd say combine it somewhat with HEROs
Here are two spells I thought of for the Vehicroids. Just some extra protection and....speed....out the other monsters quicker. Vehicroid Deployment Continous Spell Once per turn, pay 500Lps and summon another Vehicroid Monster from your hand. You can only summon Super Vehicroid Monsters from your extra deck this turn. You cannot conduct your battle phase the turn you activate this card. Vehicroid RepairShop Continous Spell If a Vehicroid Monster would be destroyed by battle or card effect, ONCE per turn it is not destroyed. You must pay 500 Lp during your standby phase or destroy this card
Don't think that Kiteroid would do Vehicroids any favors in the actual game so had to buff it. But I liked the art too much to ignore it altogether lol
Let's be honest, the stupid effects of excluding wind roid monsters should be removed. I seriously doubt that mixing vechiroids with speedroids will break the meta in any way.
Yeah I was thinking this as well. Vehicroids, especially the cards he created and showcased, aren't powerful ten years ago. So, it was an unnecessary inclusion.
Just seems like something Konami is set on so I kept with it. But the wind-specific exclusion put a damper on Mixer and Dragon so I changed it to speedroid exclusion.
Now this is the kind of support Vehicroid desperately needs. Any chance of adding a Vehicroid link monster that lets you turbo out some of the required monsters for their fusion plays?
I've noticed Konami tends to not support these legacy archetypes with non-fusion extra deck plays. Outside of the original 4 (BEWD, REBD, DM, Harpies), seems like they just stick with fusion (ex. Yubel, Evil Hero, Volcanic, etc.). I kinda like that as it keeps true to the era while also giving a different playing style. That said, not all the GX customs will avoid the Extra Deck. I have some synchro, xyz, and link planned for a few upcoming ones.
I would add a substitute monster like prisma and a new fusion called Vehicroid Fusion that can summon the normal vehicroid fusions and gives them protection. This support does offer lots of help. Love the designs too. For some of them, i would reword their effects to include "you can" making them optional. Cant summon Rocket Launcher on t1 because its pop effect is mandatory
Kiteroid is the fusion substitute, though it's more like the original Prisma than the new Evil Hero one. Rocket Launcher's full effect is optional, but yes if you want to return your banished cards, you have to resolve the destruction part too since the returning and targeting are both part of the cost. It doesn't seem like much of a t1 play anyway
We need a uria lord of searing flames deck that can play on its own my idea would to be a deck centered on dumping continuous traps into the gy and bringing out uria easier
Not making the Solidroids? Their manga effects are pretty unknown so maybe you could've been more lenient and free for giving them effects and kinda was hoping to see other interpretations that could've been for them.
I'm trying to slim down on the number of cards I create for existing archetypes, but Solidroids could be a great contact fusion option (banish materials from field/GY) to give the deck extra plays.
@@customcardguy Yeah and options they all bring is pretty neat, the hurdle of having all 3 is certainly much realistically but they're really cool to have realized as a ABC/XYZ version for Vehicroids and I guess we can make them return to places we want to use the parts for other fusion materials maybe? That's what I think at least, I have seen other interpretations
Wow how do you make custom cards. I mean I know it's like you just draw or write your ideas out but still how do you do it? Also is new custom cards for the roid archetype seem good.
Most archetypes follow a standard skeleton. You have a couple of cards that search, couple of cards that extend your plays, and a boss or two. From there it's just trying to identify a playstyle that makes sense for the cards, and at least somewhat distinct from others. An obvious example would be how Blue-Eyes is all about pumping out big monsters, whereas Dark Magician is more powered by its spells and traps. Apart from that general theory, it's A LOT of throwing stuff at the wall and iterating over and over. I wish it were easier 😅
This is a solid set of ideas, but I honestly just don't agree with splitting the 2 roids off from another. I know that your making these cards based on the stipulation, but I just don't see any reason to not let the roid groups run together. I really wonder how the two halves would benefit.
I didn't really delve too much into speedroids since Konami already cut them off from the 2 main newer roids (Mixer and Dragon), so I just kept with that stipulation. I would think Konami is future-proofing it in case they decide to super buff either one.
@@customcardguy I guess thats fair... if not for the fact it's just so awkward to write and Im pretty sure all leaving them able to run together would do right now is make vehicroids able to mix speedroids. it would be cool to see the two groups of animate objects having a go.
Konami needs to work on making the roids more playable. They deserve it. When I think about the supports, I really wanted an improved version of Steam gyroid that when it was destroyed would bring the oldest with some ability. And also since it has fusions with many materials I think it needs roids with material replacement eff
It would also be a good treatment if they got a version of the old fusions with the attack names like Hero got. The manga monsters are still waiting too lol
I feel like this archetype needs a retrain. Just give all the monsters more updated versions of their effects, slap vehicroid in the name give them some new support and a proper game plan and big boss monster
I don't get why you went with the except a "Speedroid" monster. Speedroids are just a subarchetype of roids. Sure their users don't have anything to do with eachother and Konami has seemingly tried to split them, but visually they fit just fine, and Roids already have issues with Necroid Shaman and Dark Jeroid being part of the archetype. Personally, I am of the opinion the archetypes shoul just go on to be designed with some small amount of synergy while Vehicroids focus on Fusions and Speedroids in Synchros.
I presume it's just a take on 'okay, Konami clearly wants them to be distinct even to the detriment of many Non-Speedroid Wind monsters too, so lets work around it at least'
@@robertparkhurst4034 Yeah that's exactly it. Konami already cut off Mixer and Dragon, the 2 best Vehicroids, from Speedroids. But since those are wind, I didn't want them cut off from these new cards, so the compromise was "except Speedroids".
Could be because the cards look highly childish. Which is by design, but it's also the reason I don't like them either. It's like Yu-Gi-Oh's modern obsession with waifu cards. I'm not a thirty year old basement dwelling jobless skilless dude who can't find a chick.
