This is fantastic! However, I cant help feeling this relies too much on goodwill and trusting other humans. Let's hope I'm wrong. But It's a brilliant idea for a perfect world.
Yeah could struggle with a lot of things, such as not having the right parts, accidents, not cleaning tools etc, will be interesting to see how responsible people are with this.
How do they stop people stealing tools or taking up hoists for their own personal use stopping others using them. I don’t understand it. I understand the concept
@rc70ys this isn’t an unoccupied building that people can come and go as they please on some honour system. This is a manned business, so someone is there at all times.
Seen a similar garage concept like this open up in Castle Hill in Sydney a few years ago but believe it faded into non-existence. Hope this goes the distance!
There used to be a shop cant remember the name it used to be in Alexandria in NSW Sydney, where you could do everything to your car, this was back in the mid 80s, you could hire the tools get tags swap them back and forth, spraybooth, mig welders nice to see it coming back 😊 awesome video 🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺🦘🦘❄️🌨🏔
Can't wait to book a hoist for an hour then have the job go horribly wrong with parts not fitting, nothing going right ect, so I say stuff it and leave the car there for 6 months :)
Twin 2 step rotary check, they hit a bit different don't they. It certainly is a great venue and can't wait to bring my Suby for its next head gasket 😂😂❤❤
I think if you have a hefty job to do, like change a clutch or a rear main seal, and lack proper tools and especially a hoist to do it, then the convenience and time (as well as physical strain) saved makes this a lock as a go-to option regardless of where you are in Victoria. With my gearbox jack and hoist, I can have my TH400 out of the rx7 in under 30 minutes. Without those, seriously catch me after 3 hours still working on jack stands rolling around in the bone cold concrete, arms and back ripped to shreds, struggling with just the converter bolts. Time is money. Place like this is worth its weight in gold for jobs like that. 2 hour return trip from outer or south east to do a job in an hour for total of 3 hours that would probably take 6+ at home and snatch the will to live out of you, sign me up 😂
@@BroomysGarage I don't like to use other people's tools myself, but I'm experienced at doing this stuff so working on my back is not that bad. But it will be interesting to see. I couldn't afford $50ph to hire a hoist years ago, plus if something goes wrong you have to leave your dead car there. But maybe it's not aimed at the young apprentice who needs to work on their car?
Can someone give more detail on what assistance is offered? Like is there a trained mechanic on hand to help/guide you? Or will someone just step in if your about to drop a trans on your head?
the fullboost boys bag out rx8s, then feature girly cars like toyota yarris, and do features on bogan commodores and falcons. lost a lot of respect for them.
You will not be loading any car onto the hoist yourself for safety reasons obviously. Assistance is available on tools etc. More info here: ua-cam.com/video/4R7piTfxqyE/v-deo.html

I remember there were a couple of places similar to this in Melbourne many years ago, about time someone brought them back. Great job boys 👍
Its was called U DO IT in Sydney in the 90s ..

I don't understand why there aren't more of these around already. Such an obvious idea.
Insurance and lack of ability of most people to actually repair Thier cars.
@@Low760so I wonder how these guys are doing it differently

Well done guys, the liability insurance must be astronomical, accidents happen but hopefully no numbscull spoils it for the rest of the enthisiasts.
This was done in the 90s it was called U DO IT ... weld, paint, fully equipped shop ..
Was this the 1 in Alexandria NSW Sydney??

@@302esky yeah cool, I worked a lot in the Alexandria one, back in 84 to 88, then move to Inverell NSW opened my own shop, was young back then 🤣☺️👍

@@BroomysGarage- It must freak people out who do not know about the rotary"s to see them so compact LOL 👍
Gave it a like on FB, could not comment there.
How does it go for insurance if there’s any incidents?
I was thinking the same.
We obviously have insurance guys. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Well, it's hardly going to change the car community forever.. It's a useful idea. But been done for years.
