The Vatican split away from Orthodoxy when St-Albert and St-Thomas used pagan philosopher, Aristotle's approach to deconstructing and explaining all our mysteries. Unlike the Catholic church the Theotokos is part of the Liturgy and is central to the faith, community of saints, in pointing us towards Christ. With the dawn of Aquinas he paved the road to pushing her aside. The Protestants took that even further. She is the Christokos to them and nothing more. You do know that when Rome fell into utter chaos things were moved to Constantinople? There was no 'St-peter's authority' over the other Patriarchs for over 1000 years! That notion of authority over the others was the work of Satan to seal division. And it will never unify the 'universal catholic church'. May Hungary continue to stand strong against the west under its anti-Christ leadership and the Orthodox to stand strong against the papal-Protestant one religion ecumenism.
As a former Eastern Orthodox, who has now been fully received into the Catholic Church, I just want to say that these meetings between our two Churches brings nothing but joy to me. Every meeting between our two Churches brings us one step closer to reunion. As the patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew I has said himself "Reunions is inevitable".
These meetings are terrifying for the one Holy Apostolic Orthodox Church, the bride of Christ is going to only be diluted by this ecumenism. You either are in the body of Christ or you are not, there is no middle ground. Someone will have to compromise/update their faith in order to join those that are in Christ and those who are not in Christ. This is how you get a one world religion. The Church is about to get so much smaller, but so be it as long as she remains pure. May God Bless everyone and I pray that you find your way home to the Orthodox Church.
I applaud the efforts of Hungarians and their government to clearly pronounce the Christian roots of their nation, and to proclaim many important Christian values (including the humanity of the person from the moment of conception) in their Constitution and other statues. However, contrary to the statement of archbishop Hilaron, Hungary is not the only European state that does so. Moreover, despite the pronouncement of such values, current Hungarian laws defy them in many respects. For instance, abortion on demand is allowed an widespread, and the result of this situation is clearly reflected in the Hungarian statistics on demographics.
The idea of dialogue with the Catholics is quite unpopular in Russia. Hilarion himself told that there can be no reunification of our churches. And lots of people do not understand what and why to discuss. I have no hate towards Catholics, and this is just honest position. Sweet words are not real love, if they contain lie.
I pray that our churches will reunite. Christianity would be so much stronger in this evil world if we could reunite. There is supposed to be a Pope, he's the prime minister to the King, Jesus. It goes back to the Old Testament. If the Orthodox churches came back into communion we would be so much stronger in fighting evil. Look at the Eastern Catholic churches... the Orthodox could keep everything they are doing in tact.
Wrong, the Orthodox have kept the earliest Church traditions, while the Catholics have not and have had "reforms" such as Vatican II, if the pope is infallible then all those reforms are canon and you cannot oppose them, and let us not forget the addition of the filioque. “No matter our theology” bruh…does that include people questioning the authority of the scriptures, the condemnation of same sex marriage, transgenderism, and even the deity of Christ? Not to say those with erroneous “Christian” beliefs are totally darkened, but Orthodoxy IS Christianity.
Yes but to have unity in Christ is to unite under the Catholic Church He founded, one faith, same doctrine this is true unity and the belief in the Eucharist as Christ body, soul, divinity is the Eucharist not a symbol is the crux of unity
@Farero Lobos You can't be united in christ if we all have different theology. Things like purgatory or mary being queen of heaven are things we should all believe.
The Orthodox should not seek unity at all with a Catholicism since Catholicism has been very evil against children in and nuns for hundreds of years. Nuns are abused by fathers in the priest in the Catholic Church you cannot when there has been abuse the Catholic people need to come to the Orthodox and ask for forgiveness for leaving the Orthodox Church. The Orthodox Church should not be running to the Catholicism in stop seeking direction from the Catholic Church.

I respect Metropolitan Hilarion for his balanced views and approach with regard to the current state of the world, where for him , peace and intelligent discussion and concord must be the way between nations to solve problems that claim a Christian pedigree extending over a thousand years or more. What is attractive is that he sees the actual practice of Christian actions as determining the possibility of such concord. To prove this point, he very rightfully points to the brave Hungarian people, who wish to pursue their past and its Christian underpinnings that lead them as a people to respect and apply legally the protection of life from conception to natural death. There is also the ancient Hebraic respect for marriage and human sexual purity and for family life . This realization in a majority Roman Catholic country has enabled the various Orthodox communities there to live in concord according to his remarks and understanding. I think he has made a point worthy of reflection.
The Council of Florence was valid Ecumenical Council, where the entire Dreek delegation including the Byzantine emperor signed the Bull of Union; All doctrinal issues were satisfactorily settled; Only one Bishop would not sign - Mark of Epehesus. A valid Ecuenical Council is assembled in the Holy Spirit and its decrees are binding with Divine Authority..
You need to read the authentic historical account of the conference in Florence. St. Mark of Ephesus proved that ' God plus one is a Majority!" When Pope Eugene heard that St. Mark of Ephesus did not sign the heretical document, he exclaimed: "Then we have accomplished nothing!" Also, when the 103 Bishops (including of course St. Mark of Ephesus) returned to Constantinople, the people met them at the harbor and told them to go back to Rome. One hundred of the Bishops repented, for having signed that false union. Only two returned top be come cardinals in Rome.

Why is hungary "the only country in Europe", what about Poland? We Poles openly defy the EU atheism too, I suppose he didn't mention us for political reasons.
Dear brothers and sisters of any denomination, there is one question that each and everyone of us should ask and search for the answer: where can we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and the Divine energies? Is the Holy Spirit present in all denominations, regardless of their doctrine? In order to find out the answer, one must read church history, must understand the dynamic of the church from the beginning, and must be open to receive the answer in one's heart.
Absolutely. It is found in the One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. As shown by the Apostles and Church Fathers, saints and Martyrs, and the continued miracles by God in the Catholic Church.

You can't become Hungarian. Nor Italian, or Swedish, French, English and so on. You are born into a nation, as proven by etymology (nation= the native people). There are, however, laws which allow you to acquire citizenship, which is called naturalisation. The idea that you can "become" some nationality merely by acquiring its citizenship is a supremely American concept, and, in part, a French one, arising from the Enlightenment doctrine prevalent in those two countries at the time of their respective revolutions, and is historically linked with imperialism. Empires are created through the annexation and mingling of several nations. So, in the Ottoman Empire, Ottoman citizens included Turks, Greeks, Armenians, Albanians, Serbs, Hungarians, Macedonians and so on. Same in the Roman Empire, the British Empire, the Russian Empire... People confuse nationality with citizenship. The difference is this: when you become an American citizen you also become American. However, when you become an Italian citizen, you do NOT become Italian, you stay whatever nationality you already are (Chinese, Filipino, Moroccan...) but with an Italian passport. Got it?

I am a Lutheran and liberal and I will be happy if someone will explain me what "propaganda of liberalism" means here? "Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on the rights of the individual, liberty, consent of the governed, political equality and equality before the law. Liberals espouse various views depending on their understanding of these principles." If Hungary protects Christian values against liberalism from Washington (where in the US there are many conservative and fundamentalistic Christians) and Brussels (where we Europeans treat our religions more as a identity) I would like to know what is anti-Christian in liberalism. Sorry, but I won't buy Russian propaganda.
Liberalism is this idea that freedom is literally more important then anything, more important then God, love, responsibility, family, nationhood, etc. None of those are of any value unless freedom is above them all. This is idolatry, because freedom is not the highest Good, God is. Also liberals have caused more deaths and more pain in the past ~100 years then the nazis and commies combined. They are just evil, they are utterly selfish and will never take responsibility for the damage they cause in the pursuit of their own "freedom", and will in fact take pride in doing so.
The liberalism you speak of is already part of most religions, & isn't what they refer to, its instead the perversions of all manner under feel-good titles. 'Inclusivity' is code for allowing mentally ill or perverse ideology & activities to be rammed down everyone's throats, both verbally & legally. The woke always hide behind motherhood statements but in fact push satanic/evil positions. eg the woke r now pushing to legalize pedophilia under the motherhood idea that pedos r misunderstood & the act is not bad, in fact is good. U can have your beef with some of Rome's wickedness of the past without trashing the whole concept, so to speak. In view of these reasons, according to the Orthodox dogma, all Catholics go to hell without variant. (But in the Otrodox church is a "modernist" wing, that has a softer position. Something like the "Branch theory". For example they include Metropolitan Hilarion)
Position of Catholics is softer. They believe that the Orthodox lack unity with the Pope, but despite this they consider the Orthodox Church with reservations, but still is a part of the Church
@@drjanitor3747 that’s like calling James a Heretic for not being Peter. Both are apostles of Christ.
I became Greek Orthodox from Catholic in Dec. 2021. In my heart we are a united diverse universal catholic apostolic church. Bless you in Jesus Christ for what you have the courage to do. ❤
Oh. What makes people reject the Chair of Peter, and how does that make you different from the protostants?
@@rebn8346 Peter's 'chair' sits open in Constantinople. Orthodoxy doesn't argue or explain the mysteries that was a mistake that LED to the Reformation. You might want to find out more with an open heart. I did and it blew my mind.
@@BlessThisPlanet Peter's current chair is in Rome. Not in Jerusalem either. The Orthodox Church split away from Peter's authority, Just like the rest of the protostants.
I agree, an open mind is neccarry, or you get caught up in the sedevecatism/protostantism.
Do you reject The Theotokas of Guadalupe?
You do know that when Rome fell into utter chaos things were moved to Constantinople? There was no 'St-peter's authority' over the other Patriarchs for over 1000 years! That notion of authority over the others was the work of Satan to seal division. And it will never unify the 'universal catholic church'. The Western Catholic Church split when it became obsessed with reason/knowledge and dissecting all our mysteries to fit in nice arguments to counter Muslims, Jews and Gnostics. (That's also why the Pope changed the Creed without an Eucumenical Council.)Read St-Gregory of Palamas. The Catholic Church would have fallen in the 16th century Europe were it not for St-Ignatius reviving exactly what St-Gregory of Palamas taught. Yet the Spanish Inquisition persecuted him , brought him forward numerous times because he was like St-Gregory of Palamas and forced St-ignatius to adopt 'reason' and knowledge (forcing him to go to University of Paris) and then set up schools throughout the world. @@rebn8346

May Hungary continue to stand strong against the west under its anti-Christ leadership and the Orthodox to stand strong against the papal-Protestant one religion ecumenism.
Greetings from Orthodox Romania.
Que Deus proteja e guarde você, Hilarion, nosso Papa Francisco I e o grande povo da Hungria! Ad maiorem Dei gloriam. Salve Maria! Abraços do Brasil.
Always enjoy these videos; thanks for posting
Thank you for posting in English!
Wonderful man of God ...
Thank God for the government and the people of Hungary.
Viva Hungarian Church, and Christ her King!
Thank you so much for posting this. God bless you.
"...there can be no reunification of our churches"
No one is saying anything about any 'reunification'.
It’s so refreshing to see a great nation like Hungary put God and his teachings first and foremost!
I would love to live in a sane country like this.
Thank you hungary for standing up for Christianity
I thank God for the brave Hungarian Haiduks who resisted the demonic Turkish tyranny with such fury that the word Haiduk is still used by the spiritually blind Turks to describe a feared individual.
@@therese6447 He said, no matter our theology... Wasn't that clear enough?
@Farero Lobos You can't be united in christ if we all have different theology. Things like purgatory or mary being queen of heaven are things we should all believe.
Heresy and that’s what wrong with Roman Catholics they have been brain washed to accept all theology
Honestly, W, although Orthodoxy should not seek unity with papists, we should have a diplomatic reach.

The body of believers will be united, on Earth, or in Glory. God’s Will be done

Hungary sounds good. How does one become Hungarian?
Got it?
You don't. You are born that way.

I am a Lutheran and liberal and I will be happy if someone will explain me what "propaganda of liberalism" means here? "Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on the rights of the individual, liberty, consent of the governed, political equality and equality before the law. Liberals espouse various views depending on their understanding of these principles."
If Hungary protects Christian values against liberalism from Washington (where in the US there are many conservative and fundamentalistic Christians) and Brussels (where we Europeans treat our religions more as a identity) I would like to know what is anti-Christian in liberalism.
