Absolutely awesome! Talk bout powerhouse 2 the max. Sounnds great too reving out at high speed! Bring it on. Go hard or go home! Wish I was on board. Get your heart racing!
The engines are great. For everyone who thinks 75 mph in a 36' cc isn't fast you should consider the boat design itself has a max speed. Yes the quads are overkill however, you should realize 75 mph for the quads is not their top speed. If they pushed that boat much faster the boat itself would become unstable. The engines, and additional props, could make it go much faster. Remember, its a fishing boat, not a cigarette or racing boat. The 557's at cruise (60 mph) burn about 11 gallons per hour each. The engines were never designed for minimalists. They were designed because the owners/manufacture saw people hanging triple, quad and quintuplet 300hp outboards off the back of fishing boats. For those talking about drag, two 557 sevens at 1,100 hp create less drag than three outboard 300 hp (900 hp), i.e. less drag more hp means more efficiency. These engines fill a niche for those who want more hp, pure and simple, and yes two of them are more efficient than three outboard 300s.
Engines sound good. Boat looks awesome. Boat costs a lot for the speed, and to have to pay for all the gas to power four 557HP outboards on top of that is just plain insanity! Iv heard she does 70-75 MPH while burning approximately 200GPH, so definitely expensive. I am only 14 but I think this would cost more to own the boat and the engines plus gas then to own a awesome go fast boat. If any of my facts are wrong feel free to tell me! If I won the lottery in the future, this may be a consideration!
+Rigged Peppah Yeah, " Honey, I'm going to take a spin across the lake to pick up some groceries." So he comes back a half an hour later having spent $35 groceries and over $200 on fuel.
I almost feel sorry for people who post things about the fuel consumption. As far as power to speed ratio. It takes excessive power to drive a deep V boat through the water at high speeds. Why you ask? the deeper the V, the more surface area in the water and more drag. Also, these boats are around 14,000 pounds. A car weighs about 3,500 and it's on roller bearings. Think people...
Funny thing is... for the money and fuel consumption... they could of set those up as inboards and had a third less drag, a third less fuel consumption, and a third more speed !! I love the 557's... but they just don't make any sense !
You mean the Dexter who is a police biologist and blood splatter analysis expert making 60-75k/yr at best with the Dade county PD, who also somehow owns a 150k boat and lives in a 1.5M waterfront condo... LOL.. Hollywood...
The drag from the lower units is insane. Why not just drop a couple Mercruisers and Arnesons/speedmasters? I am pretty sure this boat with twin Mercury MerCruiser SeaCore 496 MAG HO (425 Hp) will be close on the top end 70++, just wont accelerate like a jetski on steroids...oh, did I mention you can save over 100K?
Whats the point of this setup? Apparently these engines cost 90K each after all the dust settles, so thats 360,000 dollars. And the boat isin't even fast? Usually the more pistons the less efficiant a setup is, I don't see how outboards could have some kind of exclusive technology that would make them more efficient even if the overall setup is ineficient.
I wont say they're not cool..... But for the amount of money each of these cost, you could equip that boat with a couple amazing inboard twins which would not only perform better but use less fuel and probably offer better running performance. High priced outboards seem counter productive.
Volvo Bought Seven Marine and shut it down bc it took sales from its POD drive. The GM 6.2 engine is much better than Volvo engines, the Seven tilts out of danger, the POD is a deep water engine only and outboards are much more versatile. Yes, Volvos make great cars, trucks and commercial vehicles.
You could run one mecury 1350 single for 200,000 and save 150,000 and be as fast if not faster but then you lose fishing space and only one engine. I think one of these is the same weight as the 350 and 400hp engines.
+MotoAtheist You do realize that some of the speed is determined by the prop right? I had a boat that I troll fished on Lake Erie and Lake Michigan. Was a 24 ft Pursuit with twin 150 Yamaha's. I put the lowest pitch prop on both engine so I could drive the speed needed for the lures to work in the water properly. I could go as slow as 5 mph yet, with the boat trimmed out running wide open I could get a top speed of around 60 mph by setting trim tabs and trimming the engines in right position. Put the right props on this boat and I'm sure it would scream across the water :)
Bill Hartman Do you seriously think they would be doing a test run using the wrong props? This was supposed to showcase the top end power of these engines.
+MotoAtheist There is nothing here to suggest your claim of, showcasing top end power, in the title or description. I have no clue what they were doing, no more then you do, in this video. My comment wasn't to defend this video. My comment was simply to let people know that a simple prop change, will change the top end speed of a boat. A lot of people are clueless to this.
well one......they are reliable af 2.....you are gonna be only one on the water period with those engines guaranteed lol plus good on gas for their size
That's not a very big boat to have over 4000lbs hanging off the transom. Look at the run angle from the starboard video, must be 3-5*. I'm surprised the Captain can see over the bow even while standing.
Derek Ortiz I agree, but I will say again, if you have to ask, you cant afford it. Anyone who drops 280K on 4 engines most likely isn't looking to be frugal with his money. I'm sure its not his only boat.
Truth. Not about the 280k though for me. A rig with that much power would probably be at least 600k and you get a hell of a yacht for 600k used. I'd get a center console just to have the 7s though.
right and wrong. 4 outboarders on a well built center console is more than efficient. ex nortech 390 with quad verado 400s runs over 100mph whereas a triple 400 is in the 80mph. key is having the proper boat and setup
Nice experiment.. really fun to ride i guess but unfortunately this type of set up kills effectivly any topspeed performance what so ever. This quad set up is what.. 2,5 tons only the motors.. well thats sick.. topspeed what ? 70-75 mph maximum.. that is just to slow. My skater 28 with double 300 optimax makes115 mph and my precious 38 topgun makes 145 - 150 mph.. now we are talking.. But thanks any way for a fun to Watch video.. Then there is my friend .. he has a Nortech 52 turbine ..and yes now we are really really really talking. ... that nortech is sick,, crazy... 200+ mph.
For when your cocaine absolutely, positively has to get there on time...
l008comm Damn straight !
Ha ha lol lol!
+Ann Treiber Just imagine the fuel consumption in gallons per hour !
+Dave Hansen sorry did u mean gallons not Barrels per hour?
Shit ill run yo powder in, just gimme the helm. They call me DRIVER!
While we are hearing the blower the fish are hearing the v8 rumble and swimming for their lives haha
Absolutely awesome! Talk bout powerhouse 2 the max. Sounnds great too reving out at high speed! Bring it on. Go hard or go home! Wish I was on board. Get your heart racing!

Marine Seven outboards are 1100lbs each OUCH! A MERC 400 is about 700lbs I hear you on power WOW!
1,014hp*
Marine seven has more integrated systems, hydraulics closed cooling system so forth.
This is a fishing boat. They these so they can run 200 miles off shore and back in the same day... Who cares how inefficient it is. They got the money
That's completely insane. I love it.

Oh 200$ for sure! With our previous boat, a 382 fastech with twin 500efi, we could burn 600-800 bucks gas wise if we so desired
Nicholas Francis
Tell me again . How much that boat cost ?
Привет друг 🤝 читаю твой комментарий спустя 7 лет))) тебе сейчас 21год😊 привет с Санкт-Петербурга🤝🤝🤝
Music to my ears!!
Can we talk, for just a moment, on the point of diminishing returns.
I need to invent something so I can afford those....

The outboards cycle together, like 4 women that have been living in same quarters for couple of months
Dear Santa...

There is a certain cool factor, but not worth the exorbitant price.
Damn thing screams like a banshee when it passes. SICK!!!
Transmission noise. X4.
I almost expect to see Dexter throwing plastic bags in the water!
You mean the Dexter who is a police biologist and blood splatter analysis expert making 60-75k/yr at best with the Dade county PD, who also somehow owns a 150k boat and lives in a 1.5M waterfront condo... LOL.. Hollywood...
Antioch bridge in california?
That boat must have beefy transom. I looked up those motors they are about 1,000 pounds each. That's 2 tons hanging off the end of that boat.
that's a monster!! crazy crazy sounds. in the boat must make your hair stand on end!
Warranty comes with a full time engineer

Inboard engines take up too much hull space. Something that is not desirable on this type of boat.
Welllllll doggggggies, jethro!

For when Insanely powerful just doesn't cut it..
The more engines you hang on a transom the more drag you create requiring more and more horsepower and fuel to overcome.
At 0:34 THAT SOUND.
2-300's is bad ass enough! Then you see 4-557s fly by. $800 in gas everytime you use your boat just so you can say you have 4 big engines.
+You Lie according to there website quad of these babies use about 145GPH or 550LPH if you use metric.
+Žiga Troha So for 3 hours of boating that's 435 gallons. How much is that at $4 a gallon? $1700? Lol what a sensless boat.
+You Lie Your buddy has it made. I wish
+You Lie Yeah usually rich people are dicks. I live in south Florida. Saint Petersburg.
+HookedOnTheBay ST. Pete is not south Florida I live in Sarasota.

It’s a shame seven Marine went out of business

they sound good!!!!!!!!
Absolute madman
How much is the fuel consumption/hour with 4x557?
Ok i'm not a native english speaker, but i think you still got my point?
What is your problem?
zzztubazzz lel did someone piss in your corn flakes?
FiringlabGaming hes just salty no need to continue speaking to an idiot
^ :D
75mph with 2228hp? Sounds rather pathetic to me.
+MotoAtheist I agree, They should figure out a way to make the boats faster without this wast of hp. I bet fuel is insane for these motors.
+MotoAtheist I was thinking the same thing..... all that money, hp, and fuel to go 75 mph... it is pathetic!
+MotoAtheist You do realize that some of the speed is determined by the prop right? I had a boat that I troll fished on Lake Erie and Lake Michigan. Was a 24 ft Pursuit with twin 150 Yamaha's. how many barrels an hour flat out?
How much gas does that use every hour?
what's the point when you can get 75 mph out of triple yamaha 350s at twice the mpgs.
+Professor Fuzzy Mittens because 1050 HP isn't enough gotta have to full 2228 HP
Everyone is complaining about 75mph.. The boat is probably 36' and is in ocean chop
+BlueJayMinecraft it looks like its 1-2 ft waves how the fuck is that ocean chop. Get serious dude, do you even go offshore?
whell my boat has 28 hp yamaha almost the same
Matthijs Arends
xD I cracked hard at this
at that point you sell your boat and buy an inboard boat
Glad I'm not putting gas in this baby!
How much KM/h?
Merobieboy Like 130 i guess
for 200 grand on just engines i want to go faster than 74
Exactly
well one......they are reliable af 2.....you are gonna be only one on the water period with those engines guaranteed lol plus good on gas for their size
dayton .rowley one day I'm sure there will probably be a similar motor at cheaper cost and better eco and more people will have them
+madrx2 fisherman, which is who 7 marine makes engines for, don't want inboards. they want outboards
*****I totally agree
top speed?
that's it?
That's not a very big boat to have over 4000lbs hanging off the transom. Look at the run angle from the starboard video, must be 3-5*. I'm surprised the Captain can see over the bow even while standing.
do people not understand max hull speed?
What's the top speed for this beast?
i heard 70-74 mph at approximately 200GPH
Wow!!!!
Sweet
Can you not see the GPS speed on the dashboard?? 69mph
If you have to ask why, you cant afford it.
As if it's cool to afford it smh.
Derek Ortiz Yes, its definitely cool to afford it. The guy has a house for engines on the back of his boat. lol
Meh. I mean they're cool, but you can get so much more boat for the money.

if this is a car, you can beat a thrust SSC
so fucking sick
Super quiet!
Sick.
lol, cameraman ONLY has 2x300 hp. Haha......
goes pretty slow for the hp
Made in WISCONSIN USA!!!
nice boat, to bad it so under powered
2228 hp is under powered?? Bro quad 350s would do this boat good but were talking quad 557s and that under power??? Lol rip
Cool
this is unnecessary. once you start adding motors the props dont pick up as much water. 4 motors instead of 3 maybe adds a couple knots, its a waste
right and wrong. 4 outboarders on a well built center console is more than efficient. ex nortech 390 with quad verado 400s runs over 100mph whereas a triple 400 is in the 80mph. key is having the proper boat and setup
Screw you, we're rich! (is their message...not mine...)
Rad
For what these engines cost, It's just not worth it to me. That's over 200k just in the friggin engines. Stupid
Haters will hate...

That may be tru but this thing will haul ass with a shit ton of weight on it becau
Excuse me for being skeptical but I've NEVER seen or heard of a Top Gun running 150mph. What power do you have in it?
Ridicules.
Lol
top speed?
