Gotta give the show's special effects and makeup teams a lot of props for the various alien species on this show. The Krill, Moclans, Kaylon, and various other alien species on The Orville are all incredibly well designed and the actors do a great job expressing themselves through the makeups.
I think my favorite Krill interaction in the show is probably the one where Ed says "You know what would look really good on this wall? A black velvet painting of Avis." and the guard just goes "Yes, I agree" before Ed knocks him out (and later burns him alive but we wont mention that).
Amen to you, Peter. The Orville is full of these little quips. Ever notice that Ed has a model of the Wright Bothers' airplane on his desk? Now we know how the Orville got its name.
they are Hostile because they consider everyone lse as inferior, so it stands to reason that they would have a decently advanced society at least for today's standards
@Skana more like it's commentary on the nuance of individuals in any type of society. Not all Krill think aliens are inferior creatons. Not all Moclan hate women. Not all Kaylon want genocide. Some Union members will commit genocide.
If I'm not wrong they mention in the show that before discovering they're not the only species in the galaxy, they were actually a decently normal civilization. Then, after finding out they were only one between many, they became Space Nazis.
I think that's the irony Space Krill think the universe is theirs to conquer and rule, and then Earth Krill are wee shrimpies that eat phytoplankton and eventually eaten themselves. It could be funny if Avos is actually a shrimp.
0:01 - 0:22 Let's see a possible "Trek" scenario. Will Riker and Deanna Troi have another marital argument and they decide to ask a Jem'Hadar First to try mediating it. Very clever 😉
That's not a bad idea! I am a huge Deep Space Nine fan. By any chance, do you remember an episode of DS9 where Sisko and his crew teamed up with a group of Jem Hadar? In the episode, a group of rogue jem'hadar had learned about an ancient Gateway and we're no longer loyal to the founders or something. Anyway, the Jem'Hadar first in that episode.... the one who told Sisko that they were more loyal to the founders than the vorta.... that guy should do the mediating. He seemed intelligent, very reasonable and would probably do a good job lol
@@commonmancrypto1648 Right on, bro! Since recent "Picard" episodes is confirmed to include the Changelings, I assume we would see the Jem'Hadar in either "Picard" or a new Trek series in the near future 🖖
Captain Dalak was my favorite Krill. I love how smug and cartoonishly evil he portrays himself as for his initial debut but he's also a very competent war general and I loved his end of battle conversation with Ed when the Krill are the ones to save all of humanity from the Kaylon Fleet >Avis crossed our pathes for a reason. I have no idea why and only he knows the reason so bask in his mercy in the meantime.
Lmaoo bortus silently picking up on what commander Grayson is doing but LMAOO!! 0:13 at least we know this race understands what being friends with benefits truly is😂😂😂
Such a genius idea. The klingons couldnt possibly ever develop technology. Evil conquerors that are reserved, polite. Way more interesting and more believable.
So I've tried to find out who Robin Atkin Downes playes in this series and I still haven't really found out yet. Or more like did he just voice his character or did he play the whole character with the makeup.
My videos have trouble topping 100 views. It's pretty awesome that this one has gotten almost 4,000 in 2 days. Thanks internet. I appreciate that. :-)

The actors are unrecognizable in the makeup , truly fantastic work.
I agree
I forgot how sweet Teleya was before seeing her crewmates burned to death. Ed, you eff'ed her up in so many ways.
Yeah, if feels like a bad safe game. Want to start the game up again and see what other dialogue choices would give us.
@@daddyleon oh, the times I had to restart Dragon Age.
Yeah, but there wasn't really a clear correct choice. Why I love this show
"Avis. We try harder." I'm dead😂😂😂
"Enterprise...Let's make it so and engage!!" 😉😆
That Hertz!

@@TBNTX Why Orville and not Wilber?
@@brownro214 Wilber was a communist.
Lmfaooo
A short prayer like that was perfect. any longer with too many specific details that contradicts the krill religion would have been really suspicious.
for a hostile species they sure civil
they are Hostile because they consider everyone lse as inferior, so it stands to reason that they would have a decently advanced society at least for today's standards
It's commentary on how religious fundamentalists are nice and civil inside their own circles.

The Orville was so underrated
Poor distribution of show to markets!
Very dissapointed that there were no actual orange tiny shrimp, but just big hefty white dudes...

Space Mormons, irony in action

I was expecting them to look like the one on warframe
They are polite to their own species

they sure polite for a violent species
Their only nice to each other
These are the most pleasant alien invaders I've ever seen.
Reminds me of Frieza, civilized yet vile to the core
Such a genius idea. The klingons couldnt possibly ever develop technology. Evil conquerors that are reserved, polite. Way more interesting and more believable.
Miss the show. They made a mistake not renewing it

Were you guys wanting better make up artists or the Gold atop those more men profits temples.... Talk to me like you know me... IQ2
It’s sick how they go out of their way to justify Kelly cheating.
If you could give some context on why some of these guys are acting like humans? Are they in disguise?
Yes those two are infiltrating the Krill ship to steal their one copy of a holy book.
