Drove my 2007 F1000 off the trailer yesterday, then it wouldn't move. Secondary spins freely, not connected to track. Is there a shear pin in there, or is the diamond drive shot? Only 55 hours on the sled
Could be stuck between forward and reverse. There is a motor at the back of the diamond drive. Try and see if you can see it moving when you switch gears. I would suspect a dd issue. I have 2 used f1000 dds in stock.
Is that big retaining nut on the brake side regular or reverse thread? I cannot get that big nut to move. Mine is an 05 M6 and I am having ALOT of trouble getting that nut off. Any suggestions welcome, thx.
Regular thread. righty tighty. Counterclockwise to remove. You could try penetrating oil (carful not to get any on brake pads or rotor) or heating it with a torch. If you have the tool you could use a breaker bar. Lock brake lever.
Fyi, you dont have to remove anything on brake side of trackshaft, except the nut, before you tap shaft with a block of wood just hang the track up with bungie cord to the front skid mounting holes, takes weight of track off of the drivers, and track wont fall on your head, when you wiggle shaft out
I have a 2008 Crossfire 800 with a issue I noticed after buying it.. that long shaft with the bolt that goes into the back spline of the diamond drive is broken off inside what would happen if I run it without that bolt? Cause the drive cogs can’t move side to side with the brake disk on the shaft any advice is this a big problem?
It might not be now, but I could see it having an impact on your bearings on either side long term. The shaft also may not be held tightly onto the diamond drive splines causing them to eventually slip and strip. Will the diamond drive come out? You could try extracting the bolt or replace DD output shaft.
I replaced my track last year and never got a chance to use it after, no when I go over a bump it sounds like the track is rubbing. It’s only a 1 3/4” lug so it can’t be rubbing. Any ideas what it could be?
I may be wrong but 1.75 might be too much lug for this chassis. Look for rubber or scrape marks on the bottom of the tunnel. Another thing that can happen is the bolt holes for the center shock shaft get elongated and the shaft will contact the track.
@@TitanTown it originally came off of another Arctic cat with the same chassis so I’m sure it’s not too big. I’m gonna drop my suspension and look everything over.
@@jordanpayne6838 maybe that's why it came off? Cause it was too tall? It could be an alignment issue too or bad driveshaft bearing. Look everything over.
I bet your rear lower shock mount is flipped down. Check if your lower shock is rubbing the track. If so you need to drop the rear skid and flip the lower shock mount up. Be sure the shock rod isnt bent.

@@TitanTown haha, genius. It was! I shifted into reverse and it engaged with a clunk, then shifted fine. Must've been hung up a little.

Regular. The funny looking nut? I use a hammer and punch or hammer and chisel on mine. I have the proper tool but it's difficult to use.

Does that bolt on the inner rotor side shaft come out ? Mine only backs out but never comes completely out

You will be taking yourself back to 2004 and stripping splines,just pull the DD and remove the broken bolt,

If it isn’t an arctic cat silent track, the rear idler wheels need the axle and spacer kit, they wont be centered in the inner track nubs
