It wasn't 95.5 that made WSB what it was. It was those 50,000 watts on 750, heard in 40-some-odd states at night, that made WSB the voice of the South. But like most AM's, it's apparently been cast aside. By some irony, 95.5 also happens to be the home of WSM-FM as well.
That's right, WSB Radio was the station that bore birth to the NBC chime, which would become known for the musical notes G E C...which stood for General Electric Corporation, NBC's former owner.

95.5 is officially WSBB. The real WSB-FM, which at first was an afterthought to the AM like most, now goes by B98.5.
