Rain is my favourite weather. I love its atmosphere & emotion. I think it's mysterious, soothing and softly energising. I love the splash, the umbrellas, the sound, the ambience, the mood. I'm a rain baby.
The Lake District is beautiful. Went there in 2018 with my girlfriend and it was 30 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We were lucky and we had such a memorable time!
So many interesting things to see in Liverpool. As well as the fantastic Victorian architecture, there are two fantastic cathedrals (and the Philharmonic pub halfway between them, the Georgian quarter, Williamson's tunnels, Chinatown, the Western Approaches museum, the Maritime museum, the old dock, the tunnel tour, so many more...
Martin , Agreed a special kind of beauty. Did the trip first by bicycle 58 years ago and since then many times by car, always enjoyable whatever the weather.
Your rainy day driving and visiting those ancient stones made me feel such serene joy today--during you know, challenging times. Love the Cody Francis song, too. Nice job! And thank you.
you 2 are so cool and calm, and don't get freaked out by a bit of rain.as you know britain is not a country to visit for a hot sun laid on a beech for 2 weeks, but summer here is a lucky dip, could be hot or rain, looks like you enjoyed it.
Just found your channel and I am loving the natural presentation style, so sorry you got so much rain on your travels, I hope if you visit the UK again you get better weather.
Thank you so much; we're glad you're enjoying our travel videos! That's alright, we got the authentic weather experience :) We'd love to come back again during the warmer months for sure.
@@KeepGoingPlaces Yet another very good video , did you notice the walls as you go North ( at least Derbyshire / Lancashire upwards ) were at least 95% have no cement etc in them hence the name " dry stonewalls " , built by crafts men
The atmosphere of the old folk house was very good! Also the wooden bridge was very cool.Circle Stone is very mysterious!Thank you for such a wonderful video.
S'more MC Thank you! The puffy coat is The North Face (I think it’s called “thermoball”) and my light jacket is just from Target and was not nearly waterproof enough hahah.
Another super cool vid from you! Just love the laid back mood that comes off you, and the relaxing well chosen music. What I didn't follow is why you didn't appear to see, or even mention any lakes! Also you must be well used to rain as I have seen Texas rain, being an avid watcher of "Animal Cops Houston", where, my God, does it rain, and then on another, day the poor helpers are working in forty plus degrees in a stenching broken down shack, with hundreds of neglected cats, dogs and horses, that they have to get away on just that day!
I'm puzzled. Presumably your google search told you Grasmere is world famous as the home of poet Wordsworth, that you missed, not ginger biscuits and why didnt you visit Paul or Johns childhood home or even the replica Cavern in L'pool?
Watching this August 2022…. Haven’t seen rain for quite some time…. That lush green scenery would be yellow/brown right now. 🥵 ☀️🫠 There’s a couple great Thai places near me in Berkshire, not too creamy and nice n spicy 🌶
Love this part of your journey to the Lake District. We’re looking to do a full England drive tour hopefully this year once the pandemic is over and we’re allowed to travel. Could you share please the name of the cover songs/music 🙏👍🏼
A lovely video guys! We're in the process of planning our trip to the Lake District so thank you for giving us some super useful insights! Keep it up 😊
Well done for ignoring the weather! If you waited for some sunshine, you'd never see much of the UK. Also, tell Ashley, rainwater is so good for your complexion. Todays lesson...……. Keswick (say Kezzick) and Thornthwaite (THornTHWaite). Keep up the brilliant vlogs...…...… ……...…………...…..the ancient Englishman.
I like you two..laughed at the out takes. My and my husband love the Lake District, we only live two hours away so go we a few times a year. (shame you had some crap meals..I love good food so I felt your disappointment:(
Incredible sharpness. Just like being there! Scenery as the eye sees it in real life. Are you using 4k camera stuff? If so what stuff to achieve this quality?
So I discovered you yesterday and I love your British vlogs, I'm slowly making my way through them I don't understand though why you've come all the way to Britain and you seem to be eating mostly Thai or falafel food There's some amazing British food out there Maybe you get into British food in later vlogs
Hi there! Glad you’re enjoying the videos, thanks so much for watching. We eat a mostly vegetarian diet so Thai and falafel (or most Asian food) are options that always have something we eat. We did enjoy lots of scones and pastries/sweets around Britain though!
Remember, but it may be late, that in the UK we drive on the left. On motorways you should be in the left lane regardless of your speed if there is no traffic in your way, then middle if no traffic in the way, third lane only if the other two lanes are busy.
I've got to say the Lakes are not known for good restaurants , nice pubs though and scenery ....if you want good food then you need to go into the cities or pay a lot more than £9 👍🤣
I might venture to suggest that when abroad and on holiday it might be wiser to eat the local, traditional food. Thai food in the Lake District is not going to be good unless you know where to go (with some local, insider knowledge). The exception to that general rule will be that Indian food is universally excellent everywhere in the UK. The Lake District is a remote and beautiful place; you would have been much better off choosing very traditional, local food.
Hi Desmond! We get totally get that, and you’ll find we very often try to eat as the locals do. We’re also vegetarians and when in a pinch, Thai food always has meat-free options. Thanks for watching
100 likes for PERSERVERING the weather.. honestly it doesn’t always rain, just a lot 😁😁😁 - urmmm yer.. any Authentic restaurant is gonna be hit & miss.. but how can u argue with a Thai native his/her dishes are not authentic.. it’s like an American telling an English man how to pronounce/spell a word from the English language... hehe... tbf I always expect Thai to be coconutty and creamy but with a depth of heat with hints of citrus.. but that’s me... loving ur channel, but u do need to go back to North Wales (my home)... you missed sooooooooooooo much.. u need a few weeks 😁😁😁😁
@@KeepGoingPlaces Thanks for the reply, you are certainly doing the tour. I love the Lakes most tranquil place on earth however now in Thailand currently experiencing Lake District ran in the height of the dry season. Enjoy yourselves, possessions come and go but travel memories last. Regards.
I am watching your Great Britain series as you are doing somewhat close to what my wife and I plan on for next Fall. Like your videos EXCEPT when you are in the car, moving and talking. The car noise makes whatever you say completely non-understandable. Come on now, you must review your videos prior to uploading. You couldn’t catch that?

Great job well done, just one thing, Keswick is said with a silent W.
Along with many others like Greenwich, Harwich, etc.
respect the honest review of the food

That stretch of road between Ambleside, through Grasmere, past Thirlmere and into Keswick is one of the best roads I've ever driven!
I'd suggest you try the road from John O' Groats to Ullapool. Utterly breathtaking...... 170 miles and you'd be lucky to meet 10 cars....

Just watched your trip around the Cotswolds, very nice, enjoyed it. Thought the afternoon tea was overpriced i would have missed that out.

There is a saying in the UK, 'There is no such thing as bad weather, merely the wrong clothing'.
Haha, great mindset to have when traveling!
We also have a way of describing the weather in the Lake District. We say we get Winter followed by 6 months of bad weather.
I live 15 miles from Keswick so sad you seem to have had terrible weather when the weather is good there is no way better than the lakes.

Current research shows that Castlerigg stone circle is anything up to 1100 years OLDER than Stonehenge.
yeah we dont really do thai food up north, if you want a indian curry or a nice pie and chips youll be ok
Just subscribed to your channel great video really enjoyed watching it, Keswick pronounced Kes-ick the "W" in the place name is silent.

Good to hear you didn't like the Thai food, in the UK it is not good.
Just being honest 🙃
It's Kezzick not Kes wick... And all the lakes that end in "water", it's pronounced "wattah".
Just saying.
👍
😂 I think Ashley is right, it is just a Scottish accent saying cow! 🐄 🐮 🤣
Either way they are the CUTEST! 😍 -Ashley
There’s only one lake in the lake district all the others are meres and the Lake District is always wet but the most beautiful area of England
So Lake Windermere is a bit confusing then.
@@baylessnow I know what you mean what but Bassenthwaite Lake is the only lake the rest are all meres.
you seem to of been unlucky with the weather in the videos ive watched of you two
