My Last Video: THIS Is The ONLY 14 Day Focus In Hearts of Iron 4

Sorry for the big gap in content. Editor is working hard to make PREMIUM content. Sadly good videos take time. So, this video will hopefully keep you going for the time being. ENJOY!
Good!
Ok
IT CANT BE HELPED, MAN IS DOING GODS’ WORK
Good videos take time so why not just give us fast bad videos ;)
Your strategy (only focusing on tanks) is kind of useless in single player game. AI will always attack in all fronts with infantry, and if you don't have air superiority, your 10inf army would deorg instantly and can't even hold the line. Your tanks can't do anything either because they are constanly pinned and deorged. It's always more beneficial to invest 40%~ ic on guns and artillery and have a lots of 14-4 to counter AI's relentless attack. Around twelve 40w tanks for breakthrough are more than enough. 12Inf+5Art+1heavyAA is probably the best template against AI. (I have to use this strategy when playing the expert ai mod, not sure about vanilla though).
He plays a lot of hoi 4 mp, I feel sorry for him - I lost it 😂

For anyone wondering about the border conflict for single player, I find that when your organising your army at the very start, just leave two infantry divisions there and you'll NEVER lose the border conflict. With how simple it is you may as well do it because it keeps japan from getting research bonus for their doctrine
I always just save 6 mountaineers, send them to Spain, then spend them over to the Japanese boarder after the civil war.
@@racoon251 that's cool, but theres an even better broken strategy with volunteers. Assign zhukov as the general of the spanish volunteers, the terrain is very hilly and so he should grind the hill fighter trait, and the organiser trait, you should have the organiser trait by the end of the spanish civil war but not the hill fighter, that will usually be around 90% complete. After your volunteers are sent home, immediately send them to china to fight Japan, china also has hilly terrain and so you should be able to finish the hill fighter trait. You could continue fighting in china but because this is around the same time as the great purge your org and soft attack will be halved and so continued grinding will be painful so I usually return home at this stage. Now zhukov will be have 7 attack (+17% attack bonus), he will have 2 terrain traits (hill fighter and winter specialist) which then allows you to acquire the adaptable trait, this gives his army 30% less panalty on rough terrain. Assign him the logistics wizard trait (since you grinded organiser) and the ambushed trait which buffs entrenchement.
Assign zhukov as the field marshall of your entire army, now the entire soviet army has a reduction in supply consumption, a +17.5% attack, cold accumulation factor of 50% and hill fighting buff if 50%, all terrains are also buffed by 30%. You're entire army has now received godly buffs
@@perpetual_suffering1458 yeah this also deprives japan from having a 100% research on tanks as well
While at peace I always just keep 2 or 3 40 width light tanks there, they can win the conflict immediately and can go back to a front line in minutes. The extra 100%(?) land bonus helps with the purge land doctrines.
"Artillery? Never heard of them"
Artillery Only: *I tried so hard, and got so far. But in the end, it doesn't even matter*

Oman, Alta.
Sorry I had to.
Grisha Soviet is better
The problem with this guide in MP is that the allies MUST buy stuff from you early e not from USA. I've seen it happen 3 times where germany steam rolls russia cuz the tonk is not ready and the infantry is so weak
Also Richard is not a good spy because he will 100% turncoat for the germans
BEST GUIDE
Germany with 151 Civs in 1936 or Heavy Tonk Commies? We may never know.
Did the exact same this week, got the achievement for puppeting Germany as the Soviets. Was fun
I tried it literally an hour ago and, yet again, sucked :(
@@queru1ous dude. Get your mountaineers to the soviet japanese provocation border and leave all of them there. Delete cav and NKVD divs. March into poland with tanks and infantry and hope that the german civil war starts. Justify on german military junta (not at the same time as poland) and they need to be in a civil war otherwise the brits will guarantee. Then take over weak germany by micro or just front line magic
@@foxpickaxe oh, both times I tried with historical focuses on, but fight with weak military junta seems much more winnable
Thx for help
@@queru1ous yeah np
@@queru1ous All I did to get the achievement is get 40 combat width infantry and heavy tanks and do all historical stuff (apart from annexing all of Finland), then wait for the Germans to declare on me and let them waste 10 million man power pushing me back a couple tiles. Then after they reach 0 manpower on scraping the barrel you can just encircle like 50 German divisions in the north and center and 50 Italian divisions in the south with the heavy tanks and then walk to Berlin. It's pretty easy
"Issue in the Bosphorus? Oh no!"
*"Anyway"*
Oman, great video! 10/10 (Love the Heabys)
True and based
He declared on Finland too early…the TRUE lessons of war. 😅
Dave if you won't assign a general and a field marchal before sending your volunteers, there will be no cooldown. Quite useful to remember. 30 days cooldown is not that harsh, but even 15% bonus attack can make a difference
The reason why you get the event where Finland asks to be your puppet even though he is already is because if Finland gets a communist government, it will get an event where it can volunteer ask Soviet Union's puppet. This may have some historical background, the communist elements of Finland at the time wanted to join or at least receive protection from the USSR and the event reflects that. For some reason they get the event even if the reason why they got a communist government was because they became puppet to the USSR, a bug or oversight or something, which leads to the nonsensical situation of Finland the Soviet union's puppet asks to become Soviet Union's puppet
Can't wait for you to do a guide after the DLC :troll:
How much you wanna bet the AI will release every nation in Russia?
The AI never releases nations, unless it's a peace conference where the winning side is democratic.

@@detroitdave9512 Please don't remind me of that utter bullshit that is the Occitania tag. I still don't understand why they put that in, it almost feels like Pdx is mocking us for asking for a peace conference rework. Nobody asked for it but it ruins every single *historical* peace conference. Why give the territory back to the rightful owner who even is your ally, if you can release/puppet it instead?
But Pdx doesn't care for post-WW2 gameplay, seeing how a supervised Germany still re-annexes Austria because they are both in the Allies, same for the partition of Poland event being able to fire a second time. I guess they expect us to stop playing the moment the big peace conference starts.
really like this every single click series, it helps new players like me a lot in knowing the game mechanics

I love these "every click" videos. Thanks for something to watch before my weekend gets going!
Thank you for this, as a beginner I wasn't able to follow your moves I hope this series continues.
Thanks for the fun video! Also it was great to get even better Soviet strats even if it’s not optimal. It also helps that it’s a heavy tank vid cause heavy tank best tank
Great guide, my first try was a disaster. Forgot to edit my Inf templates, was busy making Tonks. Second one was far more laid back and I went pure def inf .20 to defend until I had enough tanks ready. After some time watching germany break against my border defense, I puppeted Germany in '43. I watched it while drinking a lovely cup of coffee. It was nice. Thank you, Dave.

Too OP because they would have proper focuses for events that happened in the lead up to ww2 i.e alliance with the UK against Germany instead of Molotov Ribbentrop pact

Me: nice
Always switch to closed economy if you have a lot of ressources or if you are not in war switch to the higher one. You will lose nice bonuses but you get a huge amount of your civs back with them you can build mire factories and infrastructure. Also you can repair spam new colonial territiries which is very nice
I prefer the research bonus, and focus on production only MUCH later - but it depends on your playstyle and time-strategy :)
Great video Dave as usual. We can do easily panzer expert Zukhov with SCW (and it's very easy to win this one) and I like to do industrial blueprints to have juicy tech bonus or excravation free techs.
Really love this type of content Dave part 2 sounds like a brilliant idea
Feedback sounds like a robot in the start of the video,he just spits out information and doesnt sound like he has any emotion,or maybe he was just rping as stalin

A great tip for the purge:
Never purge any people, they never do a civil war, and you can have all officers and Genius if you want or need it. I do everytime, and never i have a civil war.
Sorry my bad english, but sorta you maybe need this trick, greetings from Dominican Republic
Really?
thannks for showing how to fix the bug where you cant see the top of your production, its been a repeating theme in my games lately
3:09..... "Leningrad"
Very good content. I love watching new strategies
I tried this after seeing dankus's tutorial but for single player mediums are better.
Why are Heavies better for MP?
Are human players too good at getting enough Pierce against Mediums?
@@MrNicoJac yeah, and ai doesn't really make tank divisions that can be any problem.
@@ezsrhn
Yeah, the AI usually makes tank divisions with ~35 Org.
Which means they basically cannot ever fight if they moved in the last week or two, and don't recover Org very fast at all either - it's **quite** pathetic, really 😆😓
@@MrNicoJac heavy tanks with max armour cannot be pierced by infantry anti-tanks, even if those anti tanks are the highest level (considering you’re using heavy 3 though). But in sp, AI cant even pierce medium tank 1 so its actually best to use meds in sp, because meds are faster and get less terrain penalties
@@emre2642
Ah, that's what I was missing. Thanks for explaining! ^^
Another tactic is to build infrastructure and civ factories in key locations where you can choose decision to relocate through the focus so you then have the opportunity to build more civs there again.
interesting thanks
@@Kay2kGer you have to be at war to research the focus. Last time I checked decisions reactivate for every "new" war as well so you can do it as many times as you want practically.
Comments were hidden a bit ago when the video was released but they're up now which is good.
Great video. I like the every click videos.
That request by Finland to join your faction is hard-coded into the game and is triggered by Finland flipping to communism. Apparently the only condition, without any checks, like, "is Finland already puppet of SU or in the faction with SU" were not important enough to be implemented.
When playing as Finland, if I remember right, you get to choose between joining comintern, do nothing and the galaxy brain choice, be annexed by SU.
Theoretically if non-historic AI goes this path, there is a chance of SU getting free Finland this way.
A part two would be appreciated.

I am happy to see every click videos. I exclusively watch your videos for achievement guides and sometimes get confused about what to research and it often takes me a few tries. Still stuck on Mexico trying to knock out USA early. Can we see an in-depth guide to American annihilation as Mexico? :3
Total guides are the content we want dave!
Just got back home and I got notification! Best day ever
Love this kind of videos
For anyone who is confused, you need to take the claims foci down the middle of the tree to get the annexation events for the baltics, romania, etc.
It still worked for two of the three Baltic states tho'.
thank you very much feedback

Dave: Economy is getting squeezed from all these imports
*exports almost 500 steel and 300 chromium*
Yeah, why not go off of free trade to limited export or so. Since buffs are additive the 15% contraction speed get overshadowed by tech and advisors the late you got into the game…
Yeah. Doesn't make sense going into Free Trade in single player Soviet Union. In fact, it hardly ever makes sense for majors to go into Free Trade in single player. If you start on Free Trade as the UK or the United States enjoy it until you have to come down into Export Focus.
@@sld1776
I'd say Free Trade is best for everyone while researching; but once you're (almost) at war and need the production, THAT is when you switch.
But I only play modded SP, so...... xD

I mostly followed Dankus's Strat but I did 14/4's, gave away all my planes and used the XP for my Heavy Fighter's, Attacked Turkey & Romania, than Heavy Tank research but didn't build them and used the 2 year ahead of time boost for Modern Tanks.
That's not "mostly following" dankus lmao
@@wheresthewhale1117 I followed the Industrial, Focuses and Tech guide but I adapted it to my style.
If I didn't adapt it wouldn't I just be copying? and it wouldn't be my game, it would be his.
Why attack Finland? They have nothing I want, attack Turkey and you get Romania than you can consolidate you fleet's.
From my experience frontline 20w infantry against AI Germany is a bad idea, a proper defence until I'm ready to push.
@@Cerabelus you attack Finland because you're playing historically and need to get lessons of war, and what else do you build instead of 20w infantry?

Feedback! I love your videos. I think I've mastered the USSR for heavies even better, however... Check this out - by mid 1937 you can justify and declare on Turkey, which brings in Romania automatically. Get to Total Mobilization by trading for resources (the gamey tactic I learned from you!). Then use Turkey's Chromium as a puppet state to make your heavies - you get 80 Chromium for one civvy! I usually get to June 1941 with 500 factories total (not embellishing).

Me, a finnish person: '' and i took that shit personally ''
Can't believe part 2 is being held hostage...reeeeeeeee
If you want to go for a heavy tank strategy like this: Conquer Turkey and Romania at the start for chromium and oil.
At the very least, building infrastructure until you swap to War Economy (since civilian economy has a penalty to both factory construction AND factory conversion) is still pretty meta even for multiplayer. I believe in the multiplayer strat, you max infrastructure in Moscow and Leningrad, but that's it. That said, I don't play multiplayer, but I do find minmax strategies fun.
Free trade is fine when you dont need ressources but as soon as you need more than 10% of your civs for trade you should just go down to open trade, way way more efficient that way, also you do the ressource digs way earlier not to mention that in the beginning you set it up different, you do infrastructure for the region where you convert the most civs and then convert the civs in it go to the next and do infrastructure there, you had no civ gain in your first year which is horrible.
Wait, the title just changed from 151 civs as elite germany to Soviet russia stuff
Awesome
Iv tried dankus’s strategy in single player and even though it’s primarily a multiplayer build it’s insanely strong, so it being optimised for single player just sounds way to overpowered 😂
