@ Alan Martin. All the time while watching the video I could not help thinking how much below his level are Anthony Blinken and Victoria Nuland and the little barking poodles like Col. Vinman, Fiona Hill and ex US ambassador to Ukraine, M.Yovanovitch.
Intellectual brilliance has gone from Kissinger to a policy appealing to cheap tabloid readers and populist propaganda lacking even an ounce of judgement.
We do not have the people it takes any longer and that is probably our biggest problem on the global scale because we can only rely on "might is right" type policies.

Why he wasn't hanged in the Hague and then buried next to the Nazis that were hanged on the same spot barely half a century ago, is beyond me.
Seriously, Kissinger is the PR department of American imperialism, and the main architect behind the rise of international fascism under the excuse of fighting the slightly less evil empire of the USSR.
If socialism was supposed to fail on its own, why was this barely human, pile of sentient garbage so adamant in installing puppet dictators and funding death squads to make it sure it failed?
      Seriously, it's so insultingly simple...

1 O Lord, who may abide in your tent?
Who may dwell on your holy hill?
2 Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right,

Kissinger knows Putin is not happy with NATO expansion eastwards, but did not expect Putin is going to attack Ukraine. Kissinger also never expect Ukraine can resist Russia for that long. The way US treated China and Russia as dictators (anti democracy) has made Russia and China to be ally. Kissinger did not say nuclear will not be used, but Kissinger only said that what will happen after Russia deploy nuclear weapon will be very different from what we think the world would be, it will be totally unpredictable. My opinion is that Russia will not deploy nuclear if Ukraine able to bow down to Russia, but if Ukraine continue escalation nuclear may not be impossible. Kissinger however say that if Ukraine bow down to Russia because of nuclear threats, there is possible Russia repeat another blackmail to next country. It is a dilemma and difficult circumstance from which there is no escape because of mutually conflicting situation. For Putin, it is a serious miscalculation and Russia have to pay heavy price for the war, and if Russia loses, Putin Russia will become like Hitler Nazi Germany . If Russia wins, without nuclear.. US/UN said it is an internal matter that requires no external intervention. When India was preparing to intervene, Pakistan launched large-scale surprise aerial attacks with the support US+allies to have the first mover advantage.... All with total disregard for the refugees (their own population at the time). The rest is history.

After WW2 Eisenhower (a U.S. hero general and U.S. president) warned of the “military industrial complex” He thought that the power private industry making military weapons joined together with military hawks in the government would become too powerful. These forces of private military industry and government hawks developed the ideology of containment at all costs against any foothold of communist development in the world. Eisenhower knew that ultimately communism would fail on it’s own without war and destruction because the system of government was fatally flawed. In other words communism would collapse under its own weight, without outside help. John F. Kinnedy believed in Eisenhower’s critique of the excess of military power, and the out sized role it had in geopolitics. Kinnedy believed that diplomacy internationally, and civil rights domestically would serve to be a beacon of hope, and a model to the world that U.S., democracy, freedom, culture, success, and restrained corporate power could on its own persuade the world that this system was the far better solution to world development. But, as we know Kinnedy was cut down too early to see many of his aspirations come to fruition. He had many enemies, but one thing is true, he threatened the power of “the military industrial complex” the CIA, and the ideology of containment. Through war, toppling governments, and the installation of dictator puppets, these forces controlled their people with iron fists, in order to steal resources from countries creating a New World Order that favored an extreme capitalist, corporate model that dominates today. Now instead of having a more egalitarian, democratic, free, and more even distribution of wealth, the world and the U.S. is more divided than ever. Through the out sized and extreme growth of unproductive finance, money trying to make money from money, producing nothing tangible in the world. This extreme capitalism through debt creation, fiat currency (creating money out of thin air), “financial instruments” and “financial products” that are created to extract wealth from Third World countries and now those in the First World. This “debt model” 30 trillion of U.S. debt, trillions in Third World debt, trillions in First World private debt on individuals, has enriched a few at the expense of the many. At the same time this extreme capitalist model is rapping the earth of resources, robbing the Third World of an equitable development, and enslaving people with slave wage labor. This downward pressure of international debt on governments and people is unsustainable. In the First World people are living paycheck to paycheck, in the Third World people are starving, powerless, and destitute. This extreme capitalist model is not a model for humanity. It is a model of disparity, division, and suffering. With the help of “visionaries” like Kissinger that chose war and conquest, they paved the way to another extreme ideology to counterbalance another. We need a “Middle Way” as The Buddha said.

In his 2014 article Mr. Kissinger articulated that in order to achieve peace and prosperity, Ukraine should be the bridge, not the proxy of any side, in between Russia and Europe (aka, US). Unfortunately, Ukraine has become the opposite. The miscalculation or expectation (by Mr. Kissinger) that Russia won't have a military operation in a scale we see now might have been the explanation that NATO keeps pushing towards Russian border.

Otherwise, there would be hundreds of thousands already dead, including the leadership in Kiev, and most of the infrastructure destroyed. Soberly, 50 K might be the correct number so far because the resistance is fierce. Demilitarization and denacification cannot be achieved with a fork. Genocide in Donbas has been in progress since 2014. Special Military Operation does make sense. Since Zelensky didn`t deliver on his promise of bringing peace to Donbas as the servant of the people, he takes full credit for the biggest chunk of the Ukranian Army about to annihilate the prorussian republics in order to comfortably enter EU, no internal conflict as a requirement, Russia acted first, encircling them....and now destroying them.

That's why what Kissinger is engaging in is sophistry and deception. The entire point of a nuclear arsenal is to use it in the case of an existential threat. Now I personally have no trust that Putin's narrative is fully truthful (there is strong evidence that Putin's intelligence services helped cultivate the very neo nadzees he complains about (using double agents within the Ukrainian extreme right) as means of creating the conditions of the eastern regions of ukraine to rebel out of fear and existential terror.) unfortunately, the incompetent id1uts in Obama regime that arranged the Maidan coupe to get rid of the pro Kremlin Ukraine président, never purged these extreme right elements after their puppet government was installed by Victoria Nuland. That blunder gave Russia the moral high ground and strategic win in Inducing a grassroots supported rebellion in Eastern Ukraine based on their fear of these neo nadzees threaten to physically and culturally eliminate the Eastern Ukraine ethnic Russian population.

Kissinger is phenomenal at acquiring facts and disastrous at drawing conclusions from them. Conclusions that are incorrect and very dangerous.
I write as a former US diplomat who worked in Middle Eastern affairs and Soviet affairs in the State Department. I was a tenured career diplomat when I quit in 1979 because I disagreed so much with Kissinger's realpolitik.
Sigh. You cannot have a 'friendly' relationship with the Soviets selling them machines to make more accurate ball bearings, together with an 'adversarial' side to the relationship when they use those ball bearings to make more accurate nuclear bombs aimed at you. This is an extreme example. But the Soviets will use any 'in' you give them.
I lived in Russia for many months with Russians in their dormitories, I speak Russian. This gave me a better understanding of Russians than Kissinger's academic view gives him. He's wrong about them. From the very start they worked to take over the world, and they are still working to do so, and it looks like they are winning.
First Kissinger is wrong saying Russians are Europeans. They are not. Russians are ASIANS.They think like Asians. They act like Asians. They DO NOT have our culture.
He's wrong because he thinks Putin is losing support in Russia. Putin is a GOD in Russia.
And Kissinger is TOTALLY WRONG when he says China looks at this war and prays, 'never us.' EXACTLY the opposite. China sees Putin grabbing an enormous European country, killing thousands, taking over, and the ENTIRE West stands there with chattering teeth in total fear.
The lesson to China? You can do ANYTHING YOU WANT. At a maximum they will impound some of your luxury boats.
Kissinger's realpolitik is exactly what got us into this mess. And now, at almost 100, he's still pouring poison down the gullet of the gullible, fawning leaders of the West. ...maybe he's a Soviet plant....
