my favourite c64 tune from back in the day, alongside rob hubbard's zoids theme. i also thought this was the transformers game music until many years later.
First C64 game I purchased was Hyper Sports which also came with this piece. Don't know whether that was released before Transformers. There's also a version which slows down at 45 seconds (which I don't like); presumably Ocean Loader 2.
Seeing the loading screen being writen in with this music playing was often more enjoyable than actually playing the game. Similar with Martin Galway music from Short ciruit just to be in the title screen than playing.
No, this is definitely PAL speed. Remember this is Ocean Loader 1, which is less polished than Ocean Loader 2 which is the same tune, but more refined by Galway. Also the Project Galway CD tunes were recorded directly from Galway's own C64, so you know this is exactly how he produced it to sound.
1:01 Admit it, you came for this.
True, true. But 2:02 though. C'mon.
@@bprzy852 Fair point!
That iconic arpeggio.
Hell yes!
Lush - one of my favourite C64 tunes. Made a huge impact on me as a kid.
Listening to it is a great way to relieve stress... and bring back some distant memories.
just beautiful. used to load this game up to listen to the music more than i played the actual game
Thank you Martin. This is the greatest Sound of SID.
So many sweet memories. Thank you for this! 🥲
Glorious but I'll be whistling it for bloody days now. lol
So when did you press play on tape and enjoy this? ❤😊
What a wonderful piece of music, bravo.

Yeah that was Ocean Loader 2, nowhere near as good as the first
hearing this while loading Parallax....
Parallax actually had Ocean loader 2, a remix (and IMO better) version of this tune

Memories. Amazing how much love went into the loaders. And the memories they created for us while we patiently waited for the game to load in.
This is pure gospel
It was so different on pal
Epic!
So this is the part you never hit the play on tape? 😄
Came here from MBR
why is it so fast? slow it down lol
So many people claiming to know better and then demonstrably don't know the difference between Ocean Loader 1 and Ocean Loader 2...
@@Lukozer ok mate calm down, just don't remember the tempo being that fast
@@LukozerWhat a twat you are lol

This is definetely too fast
@@EivindFalken So prove your point by uploading it and not playing Ocean Loader 2
