  • The Blackstar ID: Core 10 is a modelling amp that features a pair of 3" 5 watt speakers that act in stereo.
    For it's size, it's very loud and can fill a room with some great spacial sounds.
    Try listening to this video with stereo speakers or through headphones to hear the full stereo effect
    In this demo I play through my custom Tele Plus and loop a guitar track to demo all the models and effects.

    I have an id core 10 v2 and I actually really impressed. I love super crunch channel with a little gain. And I think the reverb is really nice. In Turkey everything is gettin more expensive these days. Music devices are realy really expensive ,even guitar strings. We are able to buy just entry model amps and guitars. But I love my squier strat and my id core. I think we will see better days in the future.

    Thank you SO MUCH for this review. This is my 2nd day playing with this amplifier and the manual is totally useless for explaining the nuances of increasing the DEPTH of each effect, then increasing or decreasing the LEVEL of effect, so your demo was exactly what I wanted as a starting point to understand how to achieve basic effects. Now need to play with using 2 - or all 3 - of the "Modulation" "Delay" and "Reverb" settings along with the individual effects - then "Saving" them, but that's for another day!

    Thanks for this video. I have this amp. I have mixed feelings about it. I'm here because maybe I don't know what I'm doing or how to get the most out of it. Your video helped, primarily by using the same loop thru the various settings. Other guys demo amps switching the self-indulgent music they're playing, switching pickup settings, and even switching guitars. That's helpful to...??? Yes they can play guitar much better & faster than me, but so what? I just wanna hear the amp! What you did here was relatively brilliant. I also commented on your recent Les Paul v. PRS video. Your sense of humor has a definite place in your vids. Keep it going!!

    I'm not a huge effects person, I mostly got this amp bc it was cheap, portable, and sounded really good for the size. Perfect for practicing in my apartment when a louder amp would just be a waste. I usually run Guitar Rig but I've been pretty pleased with the cleans and crunches on this amp, the reverb and delays are also nice sounding. I'll definitely be looking into Blackstar again when I need to buy something bigger and louder for playing live.

    Great review...why aren't all amp reviews or even demos done with a looper pedal this way? The stereo effect comes through well in the audio here, and with the delay it sounds like two guitars going. Nice. Since I'm sill loving my Fly 3 after a year, I may have to eventually get one of Blackstar's larger models. (I sooo wish the Core BEAM came with a battery powered version like the Yamaha THR!)

    This amp is a good fit for me. Small enough to blast in the living room and light enough to carry to another room. I have a small battery pack with an inverter and receptacle just strong enough to run it. If it had a rechargeable battery pack that you could opt or ditch, it would make it amazing.

So are we getting the TVP function through the Editor Download ?? I had a 15 watt a few yrs back with the TVP function on the Control panel but its been 3 or 4 years so I'm curious are we getting the TVP models as a pre- installed Simulator or is it just there for the Models with TVP . The Effect Type dial appears to have a range for each of the four effects in each type. For example, the first Reverb type (from about 7 o'clock to 9 o'clock on the dial) is Room Reverb. Does adjusting this range (from 7-9 o'clock) adjust the level of the Room Reverb, etc.? The symbols around the dial on the amp face seem to indicate this as well.
    So, if this dial adjusts the level of the effect, what is the point of the Effect Level dial (immediately to the right)? Isn't it redundant?

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  6 років тому +1

      aa bb hey good question I had to go back and take a look myself. The effects dial on the right is a wet dry mix so it's how much of the effect you actually hear in the overall sound. And each effect has its own amount or intensity level that is represented by that symbol you were talking about. Hope that helps

    Help. I am on the verge of buying this Id core 10 or the ancient Roland micro cube. Actually this Blackstar is superior in every way (even if all the 4 od channels kinda suck). But that’s ok.
    The Blackstar is newer and superior in effects and it’s customizability to the Roland in every way. Except for one major flaw which I feel will will be a deal breaker.
    The Blackstar has only one volume knob (global) so it doesn’t save it for any patch. However the Roland has two volumes (one being a global master) and the other volume specifically saved for each patch.
    This means with the Blackstar I’ll have to keep manually fiddling with the volume knob every time I change from clean to overdrive!
    I hope there is a solution for this, I really want to buy but this non saveable 1 volume knob only is going to be a huge problem I feel.

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  5 років тому

      if you're just practicing with them, I wouldn't be concerned with the volume knob options. but that's just me. I would go for which one sounds better to me.

    Hello Landon and everyone,
    Has anyone tried a classical or acoustic guitar with it? I don t want to pay 500$ for the beam. Do not need the perfect acoustic gear. Thanks and cheers from Montréal!

      Zach Spears Let's see if I can help. UA-cam has this really super awesome feature where you can actually click on any video you want, even while watching other videos. Pretty cool, right? So let's say you're in a situation where you don't like a video that you're watching. Oh dear, what to do? Are you totally screwed? No! Simply click on another video and your troubles are over! Oh happy day!
      Hope that helps.
