I’m not a Christian, I don’t follow any religion. But I don’t see why people are bashing on some of the posters on splatoon. Like… COME ON. just ignore the post and play the game. “Keep religion out of the game!” Keep PLAYING the game.
@@persondude3075 im pretty sure there’s an option to turn posts off, I don’t remember exactly because I just keep them on. But people don’t have to read the posts.
Just keep it in mind that there are plenty of us Christians that still enjoy this game, you are not completely surrounded by those that are lost. Christ said something along the lines of if they hate you, they hated Him first.
Yes, Splatoon isn’t a “gay” game like I’ve seen some people say. It’s just that, as with the rest of American culture, it’s those supporting LGBTQ+ who are the ones that want to have a voice without letting anyone else share their beliefs! We Christians still enjoy the game!
Hi! While I am not currently Christian, I used to be, and I think this is an interesting topic. I absolutely think that a lot of people get up in arms too quickly when they see religion being talked about or promoted, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with a post saying that Jesus loves you or smth like that. And you're probably right that religion gets a disproportionate amount of pushback when brought up in spaces like this. But I do think it is important to understand why some people feel that way about religion in particular. At least in the US, religion (especially Christianity as it is the dominant religion in the western world) is often used as a reason to discriminate against minorities, both socially and legally. Christianity is closely associated with conservative ideas and policies, and in a community such as Splatoon which welcomes many minority groups, conservativism is seen as a threat, so many are very wary of those who try to promote Christianity. Many people within the Splatoon community probably have experienced discrimination from religious people because of those peoples religious convictions, likely their own families. So even if harm isn't meant or created by a post saying "Jesus loves you" many see it as Christians trying to spread Christianity as a whole into the community, and using very agreeable Christian ideas to try and get a foothold, especially because this is in fact a common method used to proselyte. Many people would prefer religion as a whole be kept out of the community to avoid risking making the space feel more accepting to bigotry, and so they respond quickly and aggressively to the mention of it. I don't think the community is unaccepting of religious people as a whole (though there are definitely individuals who are), I just think they are opposed to it being promoted. Hope this helps, and I hope that you are able to continue playing the game without feeling ostracized from the community. Regardless of how you feel about this topic hatred should never be directed at people. I also think it's worth noting that post that say "Jesus hates you" or "Satan loves you" are most definitely jokes. The people who post things like this are not religious, and so these concepts do not carry a lot of weight for them (myself included). It doesn't require deep hatred or "darkness" to post that "Satan loves you", just a lack of regard for the concept of Satan.
Its always "respect others religions" until its Christianity. Imagine if somebody said "Allah loves you" or something like that, would people say the SAME thing about their "dumb religion" or to "not post abt it bc some ppl have trauma" and if anyone DID they'd get witch hunted by everyone. If you really wanna respect all religions then don't make fun of any of them, that INCLUDES Christianity
I'm not even Christian but Catholic, and i hate how the Splatoon community has become more about hate someone if they are Christian, straight or someone who just disagrees with them weather that being politics or something stupid. I try to not associate with the community because its just an embarrassment. Yet they will report you for loving God Give me a break
Sometimes, people just make stupid decisions. They don’t realize how bad it is what they’re saying to the other. “Jesus loves you” is something Christians use in a positive light, while LGBTQ+ sees it as people telling them that they don’t actually see themselves the way they do, as if they’re lying to themselves, which is just plain wrong. While “Jesus loves you” should have that context, it’s the problem of people having a lack of detailed and ACCURATE information about a subject, coming to conclusions, and assuming it’s the same for everyone. It’s the same for the Splatoon community hating on religious people. Neither side is looking at this like an adult should, also known as having a “political mindset” (the “I’m right your wrong” you get from Twitter, basically)
As a Catholic you are a Christian, the most whole and complete kind of Christian in fact. Don’t be confused about it and don’t let others tell you otherwise. It’s ok to show some solidarity with Protestants when they’re being unfairly harassed even if they aren’t inclined to give you the same treatment (and some of them will reciprocate, make no mistake).
I don’t think that the people who say keep politics out of splatoon. Are not meaning lgbt but if they are YOU GET REPORTED or if you say I hate Jesus ALSO REPORTED
@@elisegillett8855 This is what I’m saying girl! It’s not right. And I also don’t like how people generalize Christians into one box. Like there are obviously some people who use Christianity for bad reasons but just because thats a couple of people, it doesn’t make it everyone.
Stuff like this pisses me off very much. I just wish those people weren’t so brainwashed by the world and actually used therapist brains for something good type beat.
Hi! Trans guy here! I just wanted to give a reason why some us have trauma with religion because I do specifically, a lot of conservatives and Catholics specifically seem to target lgbtq because of the fact that it doesn’t fit with their world view and often time we aren’t seen as our true identity or even satanic. now there is nothing wrong with saying Jesus loves you but a lot of time it is used as a way to dehumanize lgbt people and especially trans people by basically indirectly telling them they are not there identity, and they can still earn salvation if they go back basically. I had recently gotten out of a long term emotionaly draining toxic relationship, my ex was a catholic christain and tried to use these tactics so I could be who he wanted me to be, so the mention of religion a lot of times puts me in a bad headspace because I remember that time. I get though, I’m not saying that ostracizeing a group of people is justified, however there are a lot of lgbt people within the splatoon community and I know there are a lot of ally Christian’s as well! Not all Christian’s are like my ex I get that but much like me there are people with trauma relating to religion as well. Again it’s very complicated. I’m not christain myself but something like Jesus love you I believe should be seen as hopeful message but to a lot of lgbt people it is not seen as that.
I agree wholeheartedly that no one should be bullied for any identities or beliefs in this community or any other community for that matter, and I think the insults some people have thrown at Christianity here on the plaza posts has been pretty abhorrent. HOWEVER, I do not like that so many people here are conflating LGBTQ issues and Christianity with each other, & conflating both with politics. We have to remember here that being Queer is not something you have no control over. This is something you are born into whether you like it or not, and something a large part of the world still judges and even outlaws you for being, again, despite having any choice in the matter. Christianity is something we should respect too, but let’s not act like it’s not a religious belief that you can choose to practice or be a part of. God forbid you’re in a life or death situation, you can at least temporarily stop practicing your faith or keep it secret very easily. For Queer people, especially Transgender or Nonbinary folks, that is pretty much impossible to do. And many queer folks ARE in that life or death situation every day across the world, or heavily discriminated against, while Christianity is still one of the largest and most well accepted religions on earth. My point is, don’t bully anyone for being Christian or Queer, but don’t act like being Queer is some belief you can control practicing like a religion. Because it’s not. And don’t pretend that Christians aren’t already weirdly accepted in a vast majority of the places our community comes from.
I agree, this is why I think all of us need to have a "seize fire", stop pushing our beliefs and other concepts on to others, and just support each other, like c'mon guys let's just be people.
@ms.muffin7582 I used to be gay but now I’m saved. Yes you can trick your brain into not liking something by actively resenting that thing. It came at the cost of literally being homophobic for a while. Now some of my best friends are gay. Anybody can change if they really want to. How do I know? I lived it.
@@nausix1670 I don’t mean to be super rude or anything, but there’s just nothing supporting that the idea that your strategy actually works with most people, if any, even under extreme conditions. Nothing from actual psychologists or therapists or doctors has shown there to be any true legitimacy to conversion therapy or other forms of “”changing one’s sexuality”” besides sometimes suppressing emotions. For all intents and purposes, I’m afraid you’re just wrong.
Honestly its a touchy topic. Id rather not see posts of "Jesus loves you" in a game where you know, there are many people from *different* religions where Jesus isn't a thing, or people who are atheists...like it's not necessary. At the same time, it's not necessary to push LGBTQ propaganda everywhere in the plaza, because again, some people arent part of the group, but that doesn't seem to receive the same amount of hate religion or politics does. Obviously these evil comments are from people who hate for the sake of hating something, and it's incredibly immature. But we could avoid bringing up topics like these altogether, and it would go ways. What people need to consider is that not everyone is the same, and people have different opinions - but at the end of the day, in a game where funny cephalopods shoot each other and wear fresh drip, it really doesn't matter at all.
Everyone from different backgrounds should be able to talk about their culture, opinions, and beliefs, as long as it doesn't contribute to the mistreatment of other groups. If ya don't like it, cut te posts off it's their for a reason.
@@frescodipomeriggio647 okay so if I say "your great grandma loves you," but she passed away a decade ago, someone nearby is Muslim, and the Qur'an does not mention your great grandma, does that mean your great grandma isn't a thing? Jesus is a historical figure, God is a religious figure. Jesus is a thing regardless of whether or not your religion is centered on his actions or gives him praise/recognition.
I'm very very Christian and recently I've been wondering how many of these "I love Satan" posters ever really *knew* who God actually is and are instead rejecting a falsified idea of Him. Most of the time, they say they hate Christianity because God looks down upon homosexuality, pointing out that they cannot control who they are attracted to. While it's true people can't choose who they're attracted to, God does not hate people for their temptation to sin (and He doesn't even hate people), He hates the sin itself, when the temptation manifests into an action. Every person, LGBTQ or not, has inclinations to sin, and to single out homosexuals is hypocritical. For example, I'm a man, and God hates it when I look lustfully at a woman just as much as if I were to do so with a man. And that's just one example of how people get the wrong idea of who God is or what He's about. I have sympathy for those who are rebelling, because they don't even know who they're rebelling against. I pray for them.
@@sellosqueez6278 The part of the Bible that supposedly claims it's a sin was likely a mistranslation that meant something else entirely, but by a stretch *at most* it may be translated to men copulating with other men's rear ends is a sin, whilst other acts (nor gay relationships) are not mentioned at all. The belief that the Bible actually calls it a sin favors the person that bent the translation to push their own biases and pass it off as God's.
@Ethelberd 1 Corinthians 6:9-“Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” I used to be gay but now i’m saved.
@@nausix1670 Do you understand that the Bible was not originally written in English, and had to be reinterpreted and translated so we could read it? Pretending you aren't gay hasn't changed a thing, Jesus loves all. Come as you are.
i technically count as part of the lgbtq community being asexual but i never wanted to of it for starters asexual is basically not being physically attracted to anyone and second i always hated the blatant cry bullying that's so prominent within the community. i know this is only a vocal minority of the community and a have nothing but respect and sympathy for people who are suffering from dysphoria and nothing but respect for lgbtq people who are just living their lives. but I've seen so many people who go out of their way to provoke people and often times gaslighting people into believing what they do and hiding behind their sexually to avoid consequences which is not only hypocritical as hell but actively turns people against the lgbtq community via association. people like this are disgusting and i really do hope for a time where we can just get along no mater of race, gender, sexuality or religion.
I haven’t played splatoon in a while but it made me happy to see so many “Jesus loves you” posts. I had no idea ppl were freaking out over religious stuff
SunnieBee, thank you for speaking up through this video! Sister, be encouraged that you are not alone, as is evidenced by those who continue to post about Jesus. We are GOING to face backlash in this world, and I have even been a bit disturbed about the same exact Splatoon posts that I have come across as well. Ultimately, we know Who wins this war, and we know that people push against Christ because of their sin nature. Christians, keep fighting the good fight, and love each other as you would yourself!
2 months late to this, (I stopped playing Splatoon 3 a year ago) but imo, if the plaza knew what to post and what not to post because it is a E10+ game, then making a post saying Jesus loves you can kinda break the cycle in my eyes, but that's not the case here. It's said in the bible that christians should spread the gospel so honestly about politics and all of the other things being there, if it's not blatantly in your face then I view it as acceptable, but people shouldn't be getting mad because people on here express what they believe on here all the time! Everyone used to be posting about salmon yaoi! Which is a nsfw term! I agree with you on this though, btw i'm on a journey to follow Christ more.
I very much do agree with your takes. Everyone should be welcome & respected But I do agree with the one post that said that religion does give people trauma due to excludation of homosexuality & other topics like that. But PLEASE be respectful.
@mollylarsen9812 Oh yeah, I definitely understand that people have trauma from religion (and also other things/topics that have been mentioned in the plaza posts as well), and it's really unfortunate that they went through that.
THANK YOU for posting this. Thank you for being brave enough to stand up for us believers here. I'm a devout Christian who loves Splatoon dearly, but the anti-religious attitude that most the (loud part) of the community has is SO HARD TO DEAL WITH. For a community that claims that it's so loving, kind, tolerant, and inclusive towards everyone, it's been so disheartening to learn that that same privilege doesn't seem to apply to Christians as well. The most hateful, intolerant, downright CRUEL comments and treatment I've seen from the community didn't come from Christians. Or even from people were were right-leaning. They came from... leftists. People who preach tolerance, kindness, and open-mindedness. It's just so baffling to me. And don't even get me started on the state of the Splatoon community on Twitter/X... The game itself celebrates diversity and inclusion, so why aren't Christians aren't included there? I love Splatoon so, so much. I've got over 4,500 hours with 2 and 3 combined. But I feel such hostility from the community in such a way that I will never feel comfortable there. :/ It's always my hope that they'll grow up one day. Live, and let live. That goes both ways.
I definitely agree that this immediate flare up shouldn’t happen, as the original posts were sent with kind intentions in mind! Sadly, I definitely understand (not condone, however) why this pushback has happened: With a large part of the Splatoon community being a part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, I think the immediate reaction to seeing stuff related to religion is due to some people (not all, very specific small group!) weaponizing their religion to justify their discrimination of minorities. It’s really unfortunate that this has happened, cause if it was any other world where people hadn’t used their religion to justify hate, those post would have been received as what they were meant to be, kind and loving. I’m sorry that this kind of hate happened :c
@@sunniebee please dont take this the wrong way. I was raised Christian but I believe that politics, religion, and most thing things that fall under that category should be kept out of games. The people who said "I love Satan" and "Satan loves you" most definitely are joking around about the "Jesus loves you" post. This is mainly my opinion. So please dont take this the wrong way.

Hi! A queer person with religious trauma! I don't mind people posting religious stuff, it thinks its kinda sweet, but it still should not be posted in a game full of people who are all different, different religions, different opinions, etc. Everyone has different stuff they believe in. There's a time and place to say things like that. Same goes for political and lgbtq+ posts. But that "god is dead" post was disgusting-
@alternatemars8350 Hello! I just want to say that I understand what you are saying, and I respect it👍. I kind of agree on there being a time and place for these posts. Personally, I think it's okay that people post about some of those types of things to a certain extent (except if it's nsfw or offensive in any way). Of course, people are always gonna have different religions/beliefs or opinions and views on things. Unfortunately, there will always be those few who are rude and disrespectful to people's posts...sadly. I know I sometimes see things that I don't like or care for (but I definitely wouldn't hate), and I'm sure some others probably feel the same way. But I definitely agree with the politics, though. And also thank you for being respectful about this! 😊
Honestly when it comes to Religion, Politics, Sexuality or any of the sort I personally wish would stay out of games especially a game made for children. Every one is allowed to have their own opinion and I am not discriminating against any one belief but I and many others play this game to escape reality and have fun so having such topics that remind you about the stresses of every day life can get frustrating. I am not saying anyone is in the right or wrong just that we should all stop being rude and realize that every one can have their own opinion and we can not make it for them.
Actually it's advertised towards older children but it is suitable for everyone not just kids. But thanks your understanding i really appreciate knowing i've been heard
Ty for bringing this up as a Christian myself I find some of these comments as by the ppl hating our faith as blasphemous but remember that there is a spiritual war at hand and no power of the enemy is gonna win God wins in the end God bless u😊
I’m assuming you saying that not as in “we good they evil” as that itself is an evil, a lie one tells themself that unintentionally spreads hate, but more of in a “people just shouldn’t be posting any of these statements, as the intention might be from a place of trying to defend/help, but can be interpreted as being hurtful in some way, whether you think it is or not” way.
I think it’s because the amount of those related posts around the plaza as of recent. They are probably just annoyed of seeing it around the plaza. But yet again, most of the Splatoon community has gone toxic recently. So just if you don’t like the post, turn off post viewing or just ignore it!! :D
I’m really sorry about this situation, but I’ve got a pretty good idea of how it happen. It’s clear a lot of the posts (or at least your one) was coming from a place of celebrating Jesus, his teachings, and the love he’s spread through the world. The problem is there have been way to many times where the teachings of the bible have been contorted into weapons of hatred, used to justify some truly despicable acts like conversion therapy, or the Salem witch trials as a historical example. In fact the witch trials example is also a case where a passage from the bible was altered by the King at the time, changing ‘if there is a thief in your home, cast him out’ by replacing ‘thief’ with ‘witch’. Regardless, a significant volume of the types of people who are attracted to Splatoon are the kinds of people most affected by this weaponisation of the bible. I myself have some pretty bad experiences dealing with persecution from Anglican Christians because of my differing views. Anyway, none of this is to justify the hateful and rude comments your and your side of the community have experienced. Everyone should be welcome in this community. I’m merely offering an explanation as to why this particular area would be triggering for a lot of the individuals in this community. I know many people who follow Christianity do it for genuinely good reasons and a desire to spread genuine kindness. I do think concerning the satan praising comments and the ‘God is dead’ it’s clearly from a place of dark humour. Not everyone shares the same beliefs in this world, and when weighing them all against each other, it’s difficult to be absolutely certain which or if any are true. I may follow a belief system but I fully acknowledge this. And so because of this, issues which might be very serious for you and your beliefs, are merely a laughing matter for other people. And I empathise, as it would feel truly rage inducing to see people not getting what seems so clear to you. I think for you there just needs to be an element of turning the other cheek and ignoring their comments, as the people posting some of the disrespectful comments towards your beliefs should have done. People will inevitably follow their own paths, and in the end it’s impossible for the Christian teachings to reach or resonate with everyone. I think the best one can do is continue to spread the word with love and compassion in hopes it will reach someone and brighten their life in some form, whether it be joining a church or simply putting a smile on someone’s face. Anyway, this is turning into a full essay (I tend to do that, oops) but I hope you read it all. I’m sorry you’ve had this negative experience with the community but I want to emphasise that you are welcome here. Honestly, I think as long as your views aren’t ’hate and kill everyone who isn’t like me’ then you should be welcome in this community, and once again it’s clear you’re spreading the love of Jesus from compassion, which can only be a good thing.
I just want to lead off with how I agree with a lot of your comment, and I think it was well thought out and considerate. However, I don’t really understand the whole, “turning the other cheek argument.” While I may agree with the sentiment, I feel that statement wouldn’t hold any water if it were to be used to discribe any other “malicious” statements/jokes regarding other various topics. Being a Christian (or follower of any other religion for that matter) is just as important to those people just as sexuality or political values may be to others, so I don’t understand why we’re the only ones that’re being treated with this mentality
i think the reason isn’t because it’s not religion, it’s the fact that they brought it into a video game, i have no offense to it, i do find it a tad annoying that about half of the posts are about Jesus, but that’s fine! i am not hating, its honestly kinda childish someone would be that hateful, im Atheist but im not hating, people believe what they believe, and i respect it, unless its wrong
@@Freelancer837 yep, i think the politics are the only thing that nobody should have to see in splatoon, its unnecessary, i think there was less backlash towards LGBTQ posts because more people are LGBTQ in splatoon
What I hate about this is seeing people go “keep politics out of splatoon” when there’s like a billion LGBTQ+ posts. They don’t care about the LGBTQ posts, but the moment someone posts about Jesus they absolutely lose their crap
To be fair, Splatoon has a predominantly lgbtq community, or at least the hardcore fans are Also, politics do not equal lgbtq, and neither does religion Theres plenty of points to be made about how Christianity can be closely tied to (althought fundamentally separate) from Conservatism at times, and how the thought of bigots suddenly gaining a platform in their safe space can make the community anxious and aggressive Not saying its justified to this degree, but I can see what caused it and understand that Think of it as the equivalent of a gay person setting up shop on a traditionally conservative platform and then getting blasted for who they are
People's sexualities aren't politics hope this helps. And a good chunk of the people who started the "Jesus loves you" posts were very explicitly homophobic and transphobic to other people so I do not blame people for voicing discomfort to these religious posts.
Im sorry but saying that jesus love you isn't homobobic or transphobic pls stop bashing cause you say that you are doing a disservice to those who are in the lgbtq+ @@MAR_abisal
honestly i believe religion shouldne be talked about in a kids game but like at the same time bashing a religion is literally SO childish like vro there is a 99% you have some sort of religion aswell. athiest is a religion too
I see posts all the time about someone being trans, I just walk away, and don’t complain, but apparently if you’re a Christian, you’re going to get targeted. I see a ton of lgbtq posts, and I don’t make a big deal about it…
I think this is due to lgbtq and atheism support bias, typically these 2 communities have religious trauma in some way so when they see religious stuff they go after that more than religion going after lgbtq and atheism related posts, just guys don't push beliefs or concepts onto other people religious or not, lgbtq or not, this is a game not a place to share that stuff.

@WILLthePILL6 Yeah. I actually did that, but since the Grand Fest is coming up, I wanted to see what posts people would make. I just didn't expect to see all of this though 😭
@monke8839 Yeah! I usually ignore posts or have them turned off. These are posts that I see come up from time to time (unfortunately), and it definitely needed to be talked about since it's a reoccurring problem. It's sad, honestly.
Hi everyone! I just want to clarify that I know not everyone is hateful/disrespectful towards religious people (specifically Christians) in the splatoon community. I just wanted to bring this to light because it NEEDED to be talked about. I saw that some people said that these hateful posts are supposed to be humorous, but that's exactly where the issue is. There is nothing humorous about making jokes that hurt and offend people. There have been people posting about all kinds of topics or other beliefs, and the amount of hate barely compares from what I've seen. The Splatoon community says that everyone is welcome, right? I want to feel like I have a place here too. Another thing I want to address is the comment at the end of the video, the "whoever raised these people" comment, I can see how that could come off to some people. I did not comment this with ill intent. I really meant it as we need to do better raising people with respect and kindness (caring people). Also, I will DELETE hateful commets as I do not condone that type of behavior on MY channel. Open dialogue is welcomed, but we must remain respectful and loving to each other. 😊
@Strudlll I didn't say that people can not post what they want. They can if they want to. I'm not going to stop them. And of course, I'm hurt as this resonates with me. I just don't like the hate. Could I have ignored it? Yeah. But this was really too much to not say anything. I wouldn't want this to happen to any community.
don't get me wrong i do support my lgbtq brothers and sister but i do find it extremely hypocritical that it is okay to post your support to the lgbtq but the moment that people post a religious quote all hell break lose just why
I'm going to try and reply to this as calmly as possible (I have a lot of religious trauma) but I do totally agree that discriminating a religion (unless they have actually done some really terrible things) is not remotely acceptable, but from my own experience I could also see why they are doing this, as some of you may know a lot of religions have been known to have been very anti-lgbtq, anti-womens rights, and some even being racist, I have unfortunately seen a lot of this in a lot of religions and some even directed to me and it really hurts, I have also noticed that many of these religions (except a few) are very consistent on pushing their religion on others (also please don't say stuff like "you need jesus" and that stuff, I have heard it at least over 220 times now, I'll just end up reporting you for harassment because I seriously cannot take it anymore) and there is a point where it gets incredibly irritating, so maybe the people you have seen have just had these issues and ended up lashing out, I really just think we need to stop, stop pushing our religion on others, stop pushing on beliefs on others, and instead come together as individuals to work and love eachother no matter what religion you are apart of, no matter what your skin colour is, no matter who you love, no matter what you identify as, we should support eachother, thank you, and I'm sorry if I sounded a bit rude.
No, I don’t think you sounded rude at all. I’m sorry that you’ve had a bad experience with religious people. I hate that some people use religion to trash/bash on others. And I don’t want people to think (or label) that “all” Christians or religious people in general are like this. I don’t really care about what people post but when it’s hateful, I will report their post because that’s not right at all. And like you said, we really just need to love each other ☺️. I just want people to realize that saying “Jesus loves you” is not a form of forcing something on people cause that was not my intention at all. It’s only just to spread love ❤️.
I saw one post of someone saying "straight people DNI". It means do not interact. So we are not welcomed unfortunately. Also my Splatoon posts are mean to my teams. He he he.
@@eightup looks like their comments got deleted. Also jokes are not supposed to be offensive. I don't believe people are joking with the post I talked about. And people who tell us to take a joke are trying to make us think we are being sensitive but we're not. That's why I said it's a complicated thing to talk about because someone who does that will just ignore what I said and claims it's a joke, I'm overreacting and made an essay about a "joke".
@@eightup It isn't discrimination, but it 100% does not belong here. I understand that Christians don't see it as bad, but try and think about other people's perspectives. It's like people who are Vegan and just have to tell you about it. Cool, please stop shoving it down our throats.
@cowplatter5320 It's not shoving down people throats tho. It's just a positive message. The same thing can be applied to LGBTQ posts. You shouldn't hate on people because they say a simple message, and telling a group of people to get out of a certain game community because of their religion origin is terrible. Barely any Christians say "LGBTQ+ Shouldn't be ♡ in games" when there's posts about that, but when it's one type of religion, it's bad? There's just a major hypocritical thing to do. Considering the fact all they said was "God loves you", it shouldn't even be hated in the first place when people say "I'm trans/gay" all the time! Most Christians are gay and trans, and some aren't.
@@eightup please look outside of your worldview and realize that saying “God Loves You” has been used for years to demean, bully, and hate those who aren’t Christian.
@cowplatter5320 No, not really. Not everyone uses "God loves you" to bully people. Most people take it as a kind thing even if they aren't Christian. It's like saying "Someone cares for you" towards somebody. Even if you aren't Christian, you can't automatically assume every Christian uses it as a insult, since it clearly isn't. Just as a example, some of my family members aren't Christian and even if people say "God loves you" to them, they think nothing of it and move on. At the end of the day, it's just a positive sentence for everyone, not just ONE group of people.
I generally just ignore them most of the time since I'm not a Christian or a part of any religion (I'm an Atheist) and I don't care for any post mentioning the LGBT since I'm just trying to play the game and not concern myself with that in a game I'm having fun in. Not sure why the "I love Satan" post made me laugh, though. I just find it crazy that each group is pretty much at each others throat when it's just a game.
You're probably the person who posted the "I love Satan" thing that the uploader mentioned. It's pretty sad that you all are willing to do this just because you don't want religion being mentioned. Just comment is wrong on so many levels. God still loves you whether you worship Satan or not. Just because you get to practice your beliefs doesn't mean others can't. ❤
@@SATAMRobotnik Being an Atheist and being a Satanist are two completely different beliefs. Not sure how something making me laugh equate the two, lol. If you're just going to come off as presumptuous about it, then go right on ahead. All I'm going to say is that I don't care about anything related to religion at all when it comes to gaming. Just how you put me in the same group as Satanist, I can say all Christians act the same way you do with the holier than thou attitude, but I respect you everyone's beliefs whether I agree with them or not. I made a comment based on what the video was about and left it alone after. Everyone has a right to free speech to share their opinions. Also, save the condescension for someone else when you say god loves me or whatever. You can't prove he exist and I can't prove he doesn't. Simple. Have a nice day.

it's literally just cuz christians don't support LGBTQ+ if that were not the case they would care less I know this cuz I had ppl from the fandom say that to me during matches online
Nothing in the Bible is anti-lgbtq aside from a possible (but unlikely) translation prohibiting man-on-man copulation. I know a family that runs a Bible camp and they are VERY supportive of the LGBTQ community, as a standalone example.
@@Ethelberd Yeah I have actually researched this, it really does not make sense how this religion got to the point where a lot of people part of the religions based off the bible started hating on lgbtq
everyone is welcome, but the person that said about trauma is right. I feel like we shouldn’t post about religious things on a game about silly squids and octopi because of people that have been forced into religion, bible camps, and have felt outcasted due to it. My opinion. But me personally, I don’t mind people saying things about their religion! As long as their not forcing people to join their one. :)
@@jecka09 sorry for saying dumb, that was a Lil to rude an you've been respectful. Anways while this is your opinion I was just pointing out the flaws in your reasons to support it
I don’t know why either tbh, they don’t care about the LGBTQ+ posts and even trans but the moment someone posts about Jesus, everyone goes crazy…literally proving the points the Bible made. 💀
Honestly, I think it’s just the result of taking stereotypes too seriously. Splatoon players ended up taking all Christians as hard-right Republicans who hate LGBTQ+ people, and take it out on Christianity as a whole, instead of people who actively hate LGBTQ+. Ironic, considering how Splatoon players are stereotyped as all being gay. Everyone just needs to not hate a whole group because some of the people in it don’t do good things, because with that logic, all humans try to murder each other, as everyone hates each other. But that isn’t true. Everyone wants to do the right thing, but has different ways of doing it. TLDR: Stop hating each other, stop a simplified view of the world.
Yes, the Bible does say that we will be rejected for our beliefs, and the Splatoon community confirmes that. Although, I do actually have an issue with the LGBTQ+ posts, because that is NOT something that children should be concerned about.
I think the main reason behind this is because a lot of Christians and other religions attack lgbtq or try to force their religion on to them and due to there being more bias towards lgbtq and atheism, religious people get a return of fire, if that makes sense. (I have a lot of religious trauma so if this comes out wrong, that's a issue with just my brain)
I was about to say it’s an exaggeration to call a polite request to keep religion out of kids games satanic, but then you showed a picture of “I love Satan” posts. Fair enough. I think the biggest reason people don’t like religious posting is because if they believe in a religion where Jesus doesn’t exist, then “Jesus loves you” posts imply religions outside of Christianity are wrong, and they don’t want to deal with that in a game they use to escape from life’s hardships. Its less about Christianity specifically (for most people at least, no idea what is up with the Satan posts). Still, Regardless of anyone’s beliefs, I’m pretty sure religious posts go against Nintendo’s content policy, so religious posts may get reported in game, but please do let me know if I’m mistaken.
@claireclearwater-gs9zc Religion is not against Nintendos policy. Saying Jesus loves you is not at all saying that every other religion is wrong. If some take it like that, then that's them. I can't control that. People can take anything that someone says and react in all kinds of ways. Also, the posts that were saying "Satan loves you" were a direct mockery to the "Jesus loves you" posts. That's a reason why I included that in my video. If you don't know about Satan in the Bible, I would recommend giving it a search for better understanding. I really hope this helps!
Hi, what you should know is that there’s a spiritual warfare going on in the world and people taking the evil side will get triggered at the very mention of Jesus’s Name (i wonder why), that’s why christianity gets much more negative responses than anything else. It’s interesting that you’d encounter it in what’s considered to be a kids game. But evil is everywhere now, that’s how it is unfortunately. Thank you for bringing this topic to the light!
I feel like all the bashing against Christianity is because I think a lot of people hold this stereotype that Christians "hate LGBT" or something like that. I'm not religious in any way, and I am 100% not an expert on any of these kinds of topics. Also, from what I've seen of the Internet, it tends to be the kind of people who claim to be all "inclusive towards all people" who boil over whenever someone shares an opinion that they disagree with. My favourite example of this is in the comments of a Starbound mod in the Steam Workshop called "Squids in Space", someone said that they disliked the inclusion of pride flags and that gender politics don't belong in the funny squid game, and the mod's creator just went on a rant across *5 different comments* berating the original commenter for their opinion. It may be a controversial opinion, but it is an opinion nonetheless. Mutual respect, tolerance and understanding of different faiths and beliefs is one of the British values, and I will use that value to respect someone until they say or do something that makes them lose my respect, and I shall not demolish my keyboard to tell them so. Courtesy is important (at least to me it is), so try not to lose your mind over a disagreement.
I saw some of those posts in the game and I only agree with the part with. Yes, it’s a video game, and I like to keep some real-world things out of the game. And even though I am not as religious as I once was before. However, I still love Jesus. I really find it disturbing when they either disrespect him or say they love satan. Also, I hate the last one the most.
They're referring to traumatic experiences that have occurred within the church. A place that is meant to spread the Love of God and his will can easily become tainted if there are rotten apples in the batch. Some people have spoken out about being physically and verbally abused by pastors, deacons, and church members. Young women, men, and children alike experiencing such things in a place that is meant to be kept holy and sanctified, welcoming to all those who come to seek the Lord. This is the exact traumatic experiences these people are referring to. This can also include using the word of God as a weapon to control and tear down others. The word of God is meant to bring in light and heal, leading people to a path of righteousness according to his word. But if pastors, church members, and other individuals who claim to be people of Christ use the word of God in a way to justify ungodliness and wickedness against others or actions that are not supported in the word, then this can lead many to a place of uncertainty and cause their faith to waver because now they don't know what to believe or whom. They're hurt and confused. Not all churches have this issue. However, there are some out there with the exact issues I've mentioned. It is important to stay open-minded to what occurs in the church and in our community as children of the Lord. Consider what could cause someone to feel this way.
luckily Jesus is coming again soon so He will heal these wounds i hate how people use Christianity for their own evil desires it’s not Christian at all and it leads to things like this
i think we should gen just leave religion, politics etc. out of games unless its actually confirmed in the game because that one person who said ppl have trauma is right some ppl have religious trauma maybe because of their family or their peers, obviously nothing is wrong if u urself is religious but it just should not be in a 3rd person cephalopod shooter then politics obviously just shouldnt be here but for LGBTQ+ thats different because its obviously in splatoon considering its heavily implied pearl and marina are together and canon that acht and cipher are non binary but LGBT shouldnt even be a problem in this game either way (( also its obviously fine if you put jesus/god loves you but people kept saying god and/or jesus hates gays/you or something which was prob the reason some people said to keep religion out of games but the one person who said to shut up was just hateful ))

And also people need to at least be kinder even if they dont believe in that has been said and same with the religious folk and other too.
@dairyblitz eh, what long story short, they aren't real ever was. Christianity might have adapted Satan from the Jewish beliefs, but still, Satan didn't exist in the Jewish beliefs he was a like a heavenly figure, not like in the Bible which God is still a dick and the Bible has a load of contradicting stuff in it. And to say bad guy is just a way for Christians to say the most mean things and like God is used for control. You gotta understand what was made by humans can be understood by humans
You have well funded churches worldwide. Even if you personally are a decent person, so many of the LGBTQ people concentrated in the Splatoon community, have already had more than enoug verses and mentions of Jesus thrown at us to try "fix" us our whole lives to the point of trauma. A major country is trying to ban us under the notion of "christian ideals" now. The pushback doesnt come from nowhere, and no other spirituality feels rhe need to do this *How many spaces do you need to dominate?*
@lilpetz500 Dominate? This has nothing to do with dominating, and neither am I trying to dominate. This comment seems like it is coming from a place of hurt. And you are generalizing every Christian into one box. There are going to be good and bad people with everything. If you have hatred/dislike for certain people, then you need to work on that because not everyone is the same. The same goes for everyone. And, there are actual religions in the world where people will force you to follow their ideals and punish you for not following their ideals sadly.

I just don't get where this whole argument came from, you can literally just walk away or just turn the posts off. No need to be all pressed about it, the Splatoon fanbase is just really hateful nowadays
@chuggingdownsunkis3837 It really sucks how hateful the fanbase is. I really don't understand why people feel the need to react to posts in such a negative way when they can just leave it alone. For me, I always ignore posts or turn them off sometimes. However, since I have been playing this game (over a year), I noticed that this topic has been a reoccurring problem, and it's ridiculous.
@G_fr4n_ Yes, I do know that people practice Satanism. I was more so referring to people who believe in God/Jesus Christ. My reason for including the Satan part in my video is because that was a direct mockery to Christians (some made those posts because they thought it was funny and it is not). Satan is not someone people want to mess with (as he is known for evil doings). If you want to know more about what I am talking about, I would recommend searching up Satan in the Bible for better understanding.
@@sunniebeesure, I get that part, but people have different beliefs, so we really don't know, plus what do you expect from a children's game? I myself saw posts condemning other religions, I myself had a history with Catholicism, so I know the Bible.
@G_fr4n_ I only made this video just to bring this issue to light, and I'm glad I did. Other people have shared their experiences as well, and many have thanked me for bringing this issue up. I'm not going to excuse any of the behavior I saw from these people. Even when my video made it to Reddit, people showed their true colors and just proved my point further. And yes, people have different beliefs, but that doesn't condone their disrespectful behaviors. Hopefully, they can work on that and better themselves. This kind of stuff happens in other games as well (as I have experiences).
I think this is due to a bias of lgbtq and atheism supporting each other and the amount of hate sent from religion towards those communities in the past.
Im glad you wanna continue this, I'll be rooting for you! But for me, after the Grand Feast, im quitting this and online gaming for good, not only because the community is toxic, but I gotta start doing things in my life. ( friends, family, Boy scouts, and in or out of work ) and to tell this to the LGBTQ community: YOU ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST COMMUNITY THAT THE USA INVITED.
My guy, the reason everyone is making these posts about your religion is because you say horrible things like this, also just to clarify, the UA-cam TOS does state that this is something your account could be suspended for so in the future just be careful not to say this stuff, if your account even survives that is.
Well, your right, we may have some terrible Christians, but let me tell you something, we are trying to get back with God.
See, you get it

If you really wanna respect all religions then don't make fun of any of them, that INCLUDES Christianity
I'm not even Christian but Catholic, and i hate how the Splatoon community has become more about hate someone if they are Christian, straight or someone who just disagrees with them weather that being politics or something stupid. I try to not associate with the community because its just an embarrassment. Yet they will report you for loving God
Give me a break
Sometimes, people just make stupid decisions. They don’t realize how bad it is what they’re saying to the other. “Jesus loves you” is something Christians use in a positive light, while LGBTQ+ sees it as people telling them that they don’t actually see themselves the way they do, as if they’re lying to themselves, which is just plain wrong. While “Jesus loves you” should have that context, it’s the problem of people having a lack of detailed and ACCURATE information about a subject, coming to conclusions, and assuming it’s the same for everyone. It’s the same for the Splatoon community hating on religious people. Neither side is looking at this like an adult should, also known as having a “political mindset” (the “I’m right your wrong” you get from Twitter, basically)
they should be arguing abt the fact Splatoon 3 didn’t give us enough good gear
As a Catholic you are a Christian, the most whole and complete kind of Christian in fact. Don’t be confused about it and don’t let others tell you otherwise. i do have religious trauma
but i do respect religious people

Yea, but it isn't made for children. It's made for everyone but I see what you mean
@@Buster830 what do you mean “spiritual war”?
@@Corgipon I’m talking about right vs wrong or God vs Satan or sin vs virtue
I agree, but it's not any different than the years worth of daily LGBT and political posts either. Same thing, different topic.

To be fair, Splatoon has a predominantly lgbtq community, or at least the hardcore fans are
Also, politics do not equal lgbtq, and neither does religion
Theres plenty of points to be made about how Christianity can be closely tied to (althought fundamentally separate) from Conservatism at times, and how the thought of bigots suddenly gaining a platform in their safe space can make the community anxious and aggressive

The reason you're "hurt and offended" is because you care too much. If you're allowed to post whatever you want so are they.
But you're right, who raised these people to be so hateful?

@@Daddy_Boog Children should not also be worried about religion, so we should both stop, right?

Hi, what you should know is that there’s a spiritual warfare going on in the world and people taking the evil side will get triggered at the very mention of Jesus’s Name (i wonder why), that’s why christianity gets much more negative responses than anything else.

Man this is so dumb why does posting about jesus loving you be bad, bro
I'm a proud Christian Splatoon fan myself!

1:03 how do people have trauma from Jesus? …😭😭
@@B.B_Ora oh cool
Thank you so much for explaining so politely :)
luckily Jesus is coming again soon so He will heal these wounds i hate how people use Christianity for their own evil desires it’s not Christian at all and it leads to things like this
I think I reported the « Satan loves you » guy
I was extremely offended by that as a Muslim
i think we should gen just leave religion, politics etc. out of games unless its actually confirmed in the game because that one person who said ppl have trauma is right some ppl have religious trauma maybe because of their family or their peers, obviously nothing is wrong if u urself is religious but it just should not be in a 3rd person cephalopod shooter then politics obviously just shouldnt be here but for LGBTQ+ thats different because its obviously in splatoon considering its heavily implied pearl and marina are together and canon that acht and cipher are non binary but LGBT shouldnt even be a problem in this game either way
(( also its obviously fine if you put jesus/god loves you but people kept saying god and/or jesus hates gays/you or something which was prob the reason some people said to keep religion out of games but the one person who said to shut up was just hateful ))
Cus wtf is wrong with these ppl
be love for who u are
You know what, better yet, when the Big Run is finished and the Grand feast begins, Let the Team Past show the present and Future What Glory Days is all about!!! LET'S WOOP THER BUTTS!!!
I don’t really play platoon but I’m sorry that happened
God bless you for speaking up. Stay strong.
ingore the hate
Wow! Lord, cover these people. This world needs LOVE🙏🏽! Great post.
YES, IT VERY MUCH DOES! This is just so sad. I couldn't just say nothing.
@sunniebee thank you for sharing and speaking your thoughts on this issue and not allowing the devil to keep you quiet! 🙏🏽
Amen sister
I mean, in all opinions, i think Satan is just real never eas like god i mean satan as a idea came from a ladel/title not a fallen angel like a jugde. Not trying to be mean but at all but due to the problematic history between Christianity and them thats probably why mate. But if i may ask ehats your sect of Christianity? And also people need to at least be kinder even if they dont believe in that has been said and same with the religious folk and other too.
@dairyblitz eh, what long story short, they aren't real ever was. Christianity might have adapted Satan from the Jewish beliefs, but still, Satan didn't exist in the Jewish beliefs he was a like a heavenly figure, not like in the Bible which God is still a dick and the Bible has a load of contradicting stuff in it. And to say bad guy is just a way for Christians to say the most mean things and like God is used for control. You gotta understand what was made by humans can be understood by humans
I subbed christian splatoon friend
Me two!
Thank you for subbing!!! 🤗♥️
The pushback doesnt come from nowhere, and no other spirituality feels rhe need to do this
*How many spaces do you need to dominate?*
And, there are actual religions in the world where people will force you to follow their ideals and punish you for not following their ideals sadly.
june comes around and everyones on the support train but someone mention jesus and the world freaks out. stay strong my friends. but i honestly think some people are just joking cuz they think its funny even though its not. 'sides, jesus loves you no matter who you are.
You have to remember satanism is also a religion though
Its sad how thiers more notice to LGBTQ+ Pride but less jesus or allah i believe in Jesus but respect for muslims out there 😁
I think this is due to a bias of lgbtq and atheism supporting each other and the amount of hate sent from religion towards those communities in the past.
Oh thx for the info bro 👌
Im glad you wanna continue this, I'll be rooting for you! But for me, after the Grand Feast, im quitting this and online gaming for good, not only because the community is toxic, but I gotta start doing things in my life. ( friends, family, Boy scouts, and in or out of work ) and to tell this to the LGBTQ community: YOU ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST COMMUNITY THAT THE USA INVITED.
@@daltonwilson5124 I think the mafia is a worse community by a huge margin
Mafia is a gang of Italian murdering thiefs right? I'm not judging, I'm trying to remember my history.
You on the other hand, some of you want to rebel against God, and we are trying to convince others that this is a terrible path to go down on. I'm trying to spread the truth here, weather they like the truth or not.
You know what, I should turn my anger and blame on nintendo
Keep them in your prayers
Sploon sucks....but i also suck
@@treattrick8991 That be me sometimes too 😭
Yup i dislike stuff and myself
@sunnieBee gaming could I get ur discord, u seem like an amazing person to play splatoon with (also christian)
Fr tho I want it too u seem cool to be with
Aw, thank you! I unfortunately do not have Discord right now. I will eventually make me one. And I'll make sure I let everyone know when I do! 😊
they love putting all christians in the same box, i swear. annoying.
@@Sol6ris Yes! Those people need to realize that just because they had a bad experience with a Christian, it doesn't mean that the rest of us are the same.🤦🏾♀️
