Regardless of the ending and the game's few shortcomings, you cannot deny it is one of the greatest game series ever made. It's the best gaming experience I've ever had.
"Y'know, the politicians can say all they want about the righteousness of our cause, how the reapers never really stood a chance against the combined strength of the entire galaxy, paint a pretty picture of turian dreadnoughts shelling destroyers, of salarians spec ops in black armor knocking out entire companies worth of Reaper troops with nothing more than SMGs, asari commandos storming in with biotics flaring, quarian marines miraculously producing working electronics with nothing more than an eezo core and a wad of gum, krogan warlords taking on entire ravager groups by themselves and winning. But that's a load of varrenshit. Most of the time it was pretty desperate: those turian dreadnoughts were exploded before they hit the relay, the salarian team, decimated by an indoctrinated officer who turned his gun on his men, the asari commandoes - dead from overexertion, quarian marines shot to pieces by geth pulse guns, and the krogan sometimes lost. For most of 'em it was about the guys next to you. Didn't matter who it was; you had krogan and turians fighting back-to-back, geth and quarians hacking into Cerberus comms, STG guys sneaking in behind enemy lines to extract essential personnel, asari commandoes providing a barrier for the fireteam to push through all the fire. Makes sense; we had to fight together, or we would die together. That blind drive onwards to continue to live and prosper is something common to all sapient life and it became our cause, the thread by which we were all joined. And it is an extremely tough fiber. At the end of the day, I'm convinced that we share more in common than we care to admit. Sure, we look different, think different, and have different struggles, but most of us just want to live." - Excerpt from an N7's memoirs, published 2188.

Well, there is the fact that Cerberus is basically a group of space Nazis committing crimes against humanity, and the inescapable truth that the reapers will begin a genocide of unimaginable scale, which would make life feel painfully existential, by the way. Lots of shit goes down in Mass Effect town, just sayin'.

I could not have said this any better. I think the reason I cried the most at the end, was for the simple reason; it was over. All the characters I got attached to, all the story lines I had experienced, all over. When your love interest is holding your name plate and the heart wrenching music is playing, crew distraught at the loss of their beloved Commander (personally the "Destroy" ending is THE ending in my opinion)…it's so hard to get through in one piece. Peter Lefko exactly, it should have been a happy ending. it's like there wasnt even a point in doing all that you did in the entire trilogy just so nothing matters at the end
Guitarfollower22 one of the saddest parts for me was leaving Admiral Anderson behind to fight the Reapers, Knowing Shepard also wanted to stay and fight "We are in this fight together Anderson." Then the Music while watching Joker try to outrun the Shockwave of the Crucible as it destroyed all of the Mass Relays.
I have one favorite Reaper, Harbinger, the Reapers i believe are the strongest force in any Universe should they cross over into any other Space Age universe such as Star Wars Star Trek, Halo, even Destiny (though the Human Race is close to Extinction in the Destiny Story) and Wahammer 40k Warlord Titans vs Reapers.
I´am sorry but Shepard cant die, as you were saying there a lot of plotholes like "How the races will interact between them now" and also remember "There´s no Shepard without Vakarian" that love story cant end like this
When I decide to begin to play to Mass Effect 3 I always stay for a few at the main menu. Is an union between melancholy and epic. Only the mass effect trilogy players know what I mean.
Mass Effect is the only game so far to actually make me feel something. Just the whole plot of Mass Effect 3 alone makes me sad. You're struggling to unite a galaxy that would rather not work together all so you can have the smallest chance of victory in a war that is continuously getting worse, and all while your own planet is being destroyed.
I remember crying when I loaded this up for my 2nd playthrough. I sat here and just listened. Watched as earth is ravaged. The best possible music for this game.
In my first play through, I ensured I downloaded the extended cut and the citadel dlc to avoid the infamous crappy ending. I finished the game very satisfied as a result 👌.
I actually got emotional when the Illusive man died he’s the one that revived Shepard and if he didn’t do that the reapers would have destroyed everything
It felt real going to Earth at the very end and seeing its destruction. I felt sad and depressed to see Earth being utterly destroyed and I wanted so badly to make it end. Idk, by the end of the series it felt like I really was going to war.
The condition of humanity.... over how many years? Has it improved? What we've done to this place... has it improved? No, and no. Ask anyone. It's not so far off, or far fetched... I could watch this place, awful as we've made it, be destroyed, all day. This music is beautiful and I have listened to it more times than I can count.
Every game in this trilogy could make an argument as one of the best games ever made. Mass Effect 2 gets the nod over Ocarina of Time, The Witcher 3 and Final Fantasy VI for one thing: The Suicide Mission to me is the absolute single greatest moment in gaming.
I think people hate the Ending because they are too stupid to understand the Ending & it's choices, even though they all seem similar but they are not, I stuck to what the Objective was in the first place, destory the Reapers, the other options basically support what the 2 main protagonist was aiming for & the reapers would have won again, even though Yes they may somehow make a return or rebirth but it's definitely gonna help the universe if you destroy them

about to finish the trilogy for the first time in 2020 have been avoiding spoilers for years. after finishing the first game years ago and starting the 2nd one but never finishing it. restarted it since covid hit. Tali died... may have to go back to a previous save to undo that. hopefully i have a saved file not too far back as a may have to move on with out tali ;_;
How many time did I come back on this screen? How many time that I wish I could just bonk my head and forget about everything of the game to enjoy it like the first time and going through all of it?
Who remembers the first time putting the cd on 2012? I remember taking the time to appreciate the music before starting the game while saying I feel it's going to be epic and emotional, time flies😥. We're getting old.. I'm going to be 27 in 10 days and I was only 15 in that time. It's like it was yesterday. We will never forget
Horrible writing or rushed writing or whatever else, I'll die on the hill that Mass Effect 3's story is still really good. I feel like it shows the struggles of what a war against an unbeatable enemy is like, and how in the end, victory is only achieved through the cruelest and harshest of compromises. It shows that sometimes you just have to say goodbye without even having everyone in the same room, or a war can't be won just by blowing the enemies up. When i look at the story like that, the bad parts kind of fit like this tragic tale about war and loss, and i fall in love with the series all over again.
Very sad, and depressing music; like something is about to die, be gone forever. Then at 00:36, you have that one brief, small flute like sound which is basically like one last glimmer of hope lost in the misery. Perfect music for the tone of this game, and the finale of the Shepard trilogy.
i'm in love with the sound at the end. the music is also perfect but just pressing a button on an appropriate time in accordance to music is out of this world. mass effect is just beyond any creation, fiction or real.
Thank you very much for the upload and the good quality! I really do hope the next mass effect game has the same lasting quality and the way it changes you like the first three did. I'm just glad I'm not on the team to create that game because how do you live up to that trilogy that's touched so many people and is considered art by the fricken smithsonian!?!?!?
Do you realize that this music is in fact The Croft Manor Theme from TOMB RAIDER. Also you can hear the Theme from METAL GEAR SOLID during the Mars Mission.
I'm not sure why such a melancholic introduction to the entire game left people so surprised and outraged by the bittersweet ending. Shepard dying gives the ending and the trilogy the impact it deserves. He should never have lived in any of the endings. People are too self-obsessed and feminine to see what the meaning of sacrificing one's own life for the greater good really means. The general direction of the ending has always been fine even pre-Extended Cut.
This is also such an apt series to play when the Western world is on the brink of extinction. Really reflects the tone of reality. Predictive programming maybe, but hauntingly beautiful nonetheless.
It was the fact that the original main endings were all super similar to each other, just with a shift in colour hue. Also, when it comes to the game in general, Cerberus were used way too much.
Regardless of the ending and the game's few shortcomings, you cannot deny it is one of the greatest game series ever made. It's the best gaming experience I've ever had.

Male Shep and Kaidan was the best 😍😍😍
2022? Before world war 3 ?

I demand a Mass Effect trilogy remake on the Xbox one right now please.
I hope to one day accomplish something that's just a quarter epic as this trilogy is.
It's a looped version of the beginning of "We Face Our Enemy Together" by Sam Hulick.
the cycle will continue every time solar system hits northern most position to the galactic plane reapers will pay a visit

Do you realize that this music is in fact The Croft Manor Theme from TOMB RAIDER.
Also you can hear the Theme from METAL GEAR SOLID during the Mars Mission.
"Press any key to continue"
It should say: "But we advise waiting for the Extended Cut"

I replayed this 10 times in a row, I love this whole Trilogy, especially part 3
This trilogy was so good. Missing this era of gaming.
Do you have any scores of this music? i would appreciate if you shared with me, thanks
i feel the need to skip the main menu as fast as possible thinking the background will never stop and the reapers will continue to reap earth
makes me cry every time ;-;
