    I don't know how to feel... I bought an open box sunjoe spx3001 on ebay for $70 free shipping.
    I haven't received it yet. Everything looks brand new, wand, hose, wheels, fittings.
    But then I saw this video and I kind of regret buying it but at the same time I don't because of the price. I'm sure I will see a difference compared to my black and decker 1500psi. And i know it will be better but just listening to the experts that sunjoe is crap kind of frustrates me.

    Hey Matt, I’m looking forward for you to do “Karcher”, as I have a K4. In Australia, Karcher service centres are in every major city. Which makes it very handy to buy parts and accessories for it. Kranzle is in Australia, however it’s in Melbourne which I’m in Brisbane. So it’s a little harder to even have a look at the models without jumping on a plane and travelling 3hs just to test out a pressure washer.

    I removed reel (not with hack saw) on my 3001. Since I had already bought the SJ 25 foot extension, I just screwed that directly to the outlet connection on the back. Perfect connection. Turns out the reel hose is only 20 feet, not 25 and that is before the bit you lose that stays on the reel. Much more usable with the 25 direct and Matt’s gun , cannon, and wand. Next stop is 50 foot Cobra Jet. After that, Krenzle...

    Dude comps these to his Kranzle. Thing is..... these do what they're marketed to do just fine. Wash cars and maybe clean some patio furniture or siding........ for about 1/8 if not 1/10 the price of the Kranzle...... which has the same amount of power just about. Does the Kranzle push more water at the same pressure? Yes. But again..... at a MUCH more premium price. If you detail for a living or as a side gig.... yeah, get a Kranzle. If you're a normal DIY dude or chick the Greenworks, SunPros, and Ryobis of the world will more than likely accomplish what you want it to do..... which for most pressure washer users is just washing their car. Which normal people do probably once every other week..... more dedicated car owners..... once a week. That's 26-52 uses a year. Toss in maybe some siding cleaning or exterior window washing, and maybe some patio furniture cleaning...... 30-60 uses a year? Is that worth getting a $500-$1200(!!!) pressure washer? IMO....... no. You want more power for that ONE job you have a year...... rent a gas powered pressure washer from any big box auto/home improvement/hardware store. Like for when you want to pressure wash your deck, sidewalks, patio, driveway, etc. I live in Northern Illinois. I have the same thoughts on snow blowers/throwers. You'll use your snow blower like, what..... 5 times a winter on a REALLY snowy winter. Is that worth even purchasing at about $400-700 for a good one? No. Buy a shovel...... with how fat the average person is..... you need the exercise, haha. Just busting balls...... but kind of serious. OR..... if you're proud of your fatness or are just too lazy..... pay the neighbor kid $20-30 to shovel your driveway..... I digress. Point is.... the law of diminishing returns most DEFINITELY applies to 99.9999% of consumers who just do shit themselves around the house. If you're a weekend warrior a Sun Joe or Greenworks pressure washer will likely do all you'll need a pressure washer to do..... the few dozen times you'll use it a year..... if that. If you feel like you need a higher end machine.... go with Karcher..... but watching your tests of the Karcher.... they perform about as well as the Sun Joes and Greenworks.... AR.... etc. line..... sooooo, yeah. NO NEED to spend much more than $200 for an electric pressure washer if you're just a weekend warrior. If you want a pressure washer solely to just clean your car with all you need IMO is about 1.2 GPM. I mean think about it. You're literally just using it to pre soak, pre wash, and rinse with to knock off the loose dirt. If you "need" 1,000 psi at more than a 1.2 GPM rate is it REALLY loose dirt/grime on your car? Side note with the lower GPMS of the "inferior" brands..... little risk of damaging your paint. If you're pushing 1000+ psi at 2 GPM or more on your car you better keep that wand a respectable distance from your paint.
    All that said..... you deserve a medal and a pat on the back for doing such an in depth test of soooo many pressure washers. Just seem a little snobbish about it. Of course the Kranzle is the cream of the crop..... they "only" cost like $700-1,200, haha. It's like saying anything less than a Lamborghini/Ferrari/Porsche/insert high end car manufacturer name here.... is useless as a car. When it comes to electric pressure washers, from what I find online, you'll either be spending $80-150.... a handful of $200-300....... or about $1000 on a pressure washer. There really is no middle ground it seems. And fuck me.... just did a quick search and see the Kanzle K2020T is $1700..... stupid. You can find gas powered pressure washers at 4000 psi rating and 4 GPM for $1500-1600. Or get a gas pressure washer with the equivalent specs as a Kanzle for like $400. Or.... again.... if you want more PSI or GPM for that 1 or 2 times a year you need those specs...... rent one. 1,000 psi at 1.2-1.7 GPM is more than adequate/enough to wash your car with. Again, most people who use a pressure washer for their car generally just use it to snow foam it..... it's not like you're blasting that foam onto your car..... even with a Kranzle. The literal point of snow foam is to just coat the car. As for rinsing or pre soaking the car..... 1000 psi and 1.2 gpm is fine. Is it the BEST? No...... but when the pressure washer doing it costs $150 and the alternative is spending 7..... 8...... 9.....10+ times more than that for a Kranzle pressure washer - it's not the best but it is a HELL of a lot more economically sound.... and intelligent to just go with the $150 pressure washer.

    @Obsessed Garage I plan to use my PW once a month or so, if that.. mostly to wash cars, sometimes to deal with cleaning house/cement. That said, if I had the ability to I would buy the Kranzle right now. I tend to spend WAY more than I should purely for quality/performance reasons. I ended up buying the 3501, primarily because the brushless from what I read will last a lot longer, and the instant on/off is what you want vs apparently (as I read) keeping the unit on and NOT running the PW can cause some sort of overheating in the engine and kill it faster. Thus, for the short term, e.g. the next year or so, the 3501 should do fine for my needs. I ended up buying the Adams gun/foamer kit, which has a lower PSI/GPM rating than the unit you used, so hopefully the 3501 will do well enough with that for my needs.

    It would be fun to see this same test done for the Kranzle line. I think it would provide a real objective difference in performance. I absolutely love my 1622 and it was a massive upgrade over the SunJoe I had before it. Its hard to put into words how much better quality of life you get with the the Kranzle because there is such a big difference in quality between the two. For something I use nearly once a week, its well worth the extra cost to me.

I truly love to take car of my vehicles but until i get my ultimate garage setup in my forever home, i would never consider spending $1200 on a pressure washer. For the weekend warriors and the kids getting into detailing its just not realistic to spend $3000+ to get all the stuff as you recommend to wash a car, i just hope you keep that in mind when making suggestions....i still think you can have a pretty decent setup for $300-$500 for your weekend type detailing guy. Having said that, im giving the green works gpw 2006 (which i can find no info on) its a 2000psi 1.2gpm, it was at lowes and prices wrong $260 retail and they listed it for $49. Matt, No one has done tests as in depth as you are in comparing pressure washers. Thank you for doing this! I know you cannot test every brand and model out there, but I am running the Stanley SHP2150. Do you know if one of the brands you are testing is making the Stanley? It has noticeably more pressure than my old Green Works 1600, but lacks GPM, as it doesn’t create the best foam, even through a 1.1 conversion in my MTM Foam Cannon. Can you shed some light on the Stanley, so I would know what kit to order from you?

      mugenrios2k I don’t think that much thought goes into it for them. It’s just a marketing and price point driven company. The problem is most people, including myself who actually owns a 4001 sj, is they are looked at by many as a disposable pressure washer. Cheap and good for a couple of seasons until it breaks or something better comes along. It works well for what it is and nothing more. The problem with them trying to move up market with the brushless and “pro” models is they need to convince people they are worthy. It’s a shame because their brushless snow blowers are actually really good. I’ve abused mine for three seasons now and love it Over the pain of a gas snow blower. They seem to treat the pressure washer market much differently...

    • @jerrycube6244
      @jerrycube6244 5 років тому

      Swagura Mutsuki well sure the numbers are likely overinflated but with all these pressure washers being tested be nice to see the actual numbers. I doubt the SPX9004 matches the Kranzle but be nice to see the actual numbers. At least the 9004 looks like it has a decent motor on it if nothing else. If more people tested these machines the less they’d get away with putting all the numbers on the box with an * stating @100 psi etc. Be also nice to see the Kranzle tested with an external gauge like the others, I have a feeling they probably are more conservative like many German companies with their specs. Where was the comet tested btw?
      In the end all these 120v electric units are kinda hobbled with only so much output you can do without tripping breakers. If you are doing a mounted solution a 230v unit makes more sense. Northstar has 230v units that put out 3000 psi and 2.5gpm.
      In the end for car cleaning duty even the so-so units here are adequate to run foam cannons and clean your car. A good foam cannon like the MTM makes all the difference and you still need to agitate the soap with a wash mitt. Better gpm makes a bit better foam and makes it for a quicker rinse but it’s not like you actually can’t clean a car with a simple garden hose.
      The biggest head scratcher is the brushless Sun Joe’s. Seems like a waste of more advanced, more expensive motors to just push a bit higher psi at the expense of gpm but the marketing guys probably wanted those psi numbers and don’t really care about actual users...

    Struggling with the so-what of this experiment a bit primarily because of the target audience for these sub-$300 pressure washers.(my dad also has one btw and a few others I know). My observation is that these folks use their pressure washers like a gym membership...not very often...and the do not see the value of investing in something they don't really care that much about. If the intent is to create an aftermarket like trend in cars, I really do not see why someone would spend twice or three times as much on hoses and wands to bolt onto a POS washer. Its' like throwing $10K on rims and suspension for Corolla, absolutely mental masturbation. I think your audience that are as obsessed about caring for a car will buy the Kranzle, those that cannot afford it will probably just stick with a cheapo washer or an even cheaper bucket. After all it's all about the sum of the parts just like a Porsche GT3, not just the engine or the suspension. Kind of entertaining to watch homemade experiments though.
