A real domino effect. There was a governor in AZ who tried to put a stop to this in the 50’s, I believe it was. But, the public, not knowing the truth or not wanting to believe the truth, I don’t know for sure… admonished the governor somehow, and ruined the governors career or something. It’s been a long time since I researched the situation. But, after the Texas raid, there were a lot of people I ran into who thought they were just people living a perfectly nice alternative lifestyle and should be allowed to do so. I corrected them. I don’t know if they changed their mind. People out in the mainstream are incredibly blind and easily manipulated into supporting enslavement, is what it boils down to. I say that, from both my own experiences and mark dice videos and other research. The road to hell is paved with the cooperation of naive people.

In the summer in Montana some FLDS members would attend the local LDS church. I witnessed this as a young woman myself. They never spoke a word, but studied alongside us. There are definite differences, but not enough to keep them away. I left the LDS church at 18 years old. They still try to teach me. I am an atheist and have been for 24 years. I have Catholic, Christian, Methodist, and Mormon friends. We respect each others differences.

She says things so nonchalant and matter of fact. 😯 My dad had a crazy traumatic childhood and also says things so offhandedly. It's almost like you don't realize how weird it is to go through these things so you state these things the same way you'd share the grade you received on your spelling test. 😳 😭

It’s just what they know and they don’t have much else to compare it to. Kind of like an “it is what it is” mentality. I feel like that’s how you know she’s telling the truth. There’s not really any sensationalizing.

How she read that poem without crying, I don't understand. I would've been bawling. Then again, I cry over everything...
Trauma responses ... I'm thinking about what you said, and I agree. It's a way, I think, to separate from the abuse and pain that hurts us, the things that traumatize us. Just so, so grateful she's out of that hell on Earth.

    • @AmyAndThePup
      @AmyAndThePup 4 роки тому +3

@@Donutsmakemegonuts It's okay to cry, though, and I was surprised she didn't.
I think it's how a person expresses their emotion, not that they are emotionally expressive, that's important. Overdramatizing something makes it look/feel fake, or ... too much.

I feel like there are times to cry and feel, express and let out the pain. There are appropriate ways. It's not that expressing is bad, it's ... too much intensity can be too much for people to handle.
On one hand, I wish she had cried. On the other, maybe it's a reflection of God's peace in her heart. He does heal those deep and painful places.

It is gross and the entire church should be categorized as his victims and he should have no contact with them. However, I think I might understand why this is happening though. The prison cannot take away his civil rights to contact people outside of prison. If we could do that it would make prison abuse easier to cover up, for example (not saying it still doesn't happen like the gladiator fights or the man who was scalded to death tragically in a hot shower by a guard on purpose after he handcuffed him in the shower and the water was around 400 degrees). Even if they executed Jeffs, his cult would make that creep a martyr.

One thing I will say, however, is that God seems to get a lot of credit for the miracles she talked about in her journey out of the cult and the new safe-house she started; I would suggest that she and those that helped her deserve at most of the credit. I find it a little odd that an almighty being that we can't see or hear gets so much credit for things humans do.

I was taught in the Mormon church that men can have plural wives in heaven and they don’t have to ask permission to be sealed to a new wife. It takes a lot of paperwork and special permission from the prophet for a woman to cancel a temple marriage. My parents divorced, and my father left the church, but according to LDS records their temple marriage is still valid. I know a girl close to my age who became a widow and she was scared to get married again because she wouldn’t be able to be sealed to her new husband or future kids unless she canceled her first temple marriage. These issues about families getting divided and plural temple marriages was a topic that I liked to bring up in Sunday school. It was difficult to disgust even when I had faith.

This interview is awesome. Briell Decker is magnetic. I’m not sure if y’all are ever going to see this, but just an idea, I think you should consider avoiding calling life outside the FLDS the “real world.” I’ve never been in a NRM or anything, but I have grown up across two cultures and suffered major culture shock as a kid. It makes you feel like an alien or an idiot or something, when you’re trying to mesh with the rest of the world. Unless she herself calls the non-FLDS world “the real world,” I’d avoid using “real” or “fake” to distinguish between life inside and outside. Watching her kinda laugh off you referring to her experience in the “real world” made my heart hurt. I wasn’t going to say anything, but just in case y’all ever see this, thanks for reading and for considering!

It is clear that while she was safer in that christian family they didn't have the skills to help her as evidenced by the PTSD she experienced. It is too bad she didn't choose the professionals. Still they were better than the high control cult she escaped.

Yeah it could have been really insightful but I feel like a lot was skimmed over because just as she gets to making her point they move on to other things.

By saying God created this facility it totally negates and diminishes the hard work she has done. Maybe part of her power is that she gains strength from a belief in a divine being but SHE did the work.

I enjoy these videos. I’m curious about our two hosts. Are you guys pastors? I’m new to this channel and would like to know more. What denomination to you guys preach from? Or is this general discussion with facts based on the Bible? Would love to know. I enjoy these

Not sure if links can be posted but I found a copy of Jeff's 2007 confession to his brother, Nephi. He said that he was deceived and was never the prophet. Instead, Brother William E. Jessop has been the prophet since Jeff's father died. He told Nephi to show a copy of the confession to current & former members of the group and to let gentiles know about it too. I wonder what would have said to wiggle out of the truth if Nephi had done was he was told to do.
Obviously, if he ever believed Warren was "the prophet" he now knows that Warren is lying.
You can search for the videos posted by eldoradosuccess in 2012. They are titled Part 1 and Part 2 "Warren Jeff's 2007 Jail Confession".
