Hi Will! I was wondering if you were considering to a future video/test using this new 6000XP connected to the 18K? My system is going to off-grid to start, but potentially could have the option to tie into the grid. So, I am currently planning to start with the 18K so I have the grid-tie option. The 6000XP looks like an option for future expansion of the system for future scaling of the system as higher power needs arise. Obviously, you could expand with another 18K, but the 6000XP (even 2 of them) looks like a more economical option.
Please compare two EG4 3000EHV 48 inverters in split phase. Surge capacity, efficiency, 120/240 output comparison would be FANTASTIC!!! Did EG4 not allow this to increase sales of the 6000XP? Let's see that new shop. Keep it up my fellow true American!
Great Video as always. Using the EG4 6000XP what would u prefer. 2 - 24v 200ah in series or 2 48v 100ah in parallel? Using EG4 Lithium. Also do you have a preference from V1 or V2 batteries? Thank You
Will has, without doubt, the most knowledge, integrity, and 'service to others' mindset (instruction books, videos, forum), and enthusiasm in his field. He's an absolute blessing! Thanks, Will, for another great review!

Sorry about that :( Still working on the new shop, unfortunately. It has been a lot of work. Hopefully should be done in a few more weeks. I havent been able to run a camera till this week because of the construction
@@WillProwse I'm basically totally new consoler. Please do a video for OS newbies. I'd love to run only electric heat. And a c to do away with the bill

HE’S ONE OF THE BRIGHTEST IN THIS FIELD Hello BARR NONE❤️🔥❤️🔥🇺🇸
Will, I used your tutorials to install a simple system in my art studio and shop in my barn two years ago that has functioned flawlessly ever since. I knew nothing about solar electric units, wiring, configuration, etc beforehand. Using your book as a guide and your online installation videos, I bought and assembled everything with just a little help from a friend. I use the system every day and it has made a big difference in my life. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
That's great to hear that you had a positive experience with solar installation using tutorials! It's always empowering to learn new skills and apply them to make a difference in our lives. Speaking of power solutions, have you considered the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series? It has a massive capacity, fast recharging, and a durable design. It could be a great addition to your art studio and barn shop, providing reliable power whenever you need it.
Yes, I would be interested in the size of your set up. I too am putting together a studio/shop and am wanting to power off grid. I have a table saw 240/3hp that I would like to power. Just wondering if it is possible with battery/inverter set up. I had initially thought a generator would be the only way to go until now. Thanks!
i had a few different inverter/battery setups in my carts on different websites (for over a month) trying to decide because nothing quite matched what i needed it for. but i think im ordering this today. i think my indecisiveness really paid off this time lol
@@mitchellchristenson3717 I am in the same boat but thinking I will still go with the 18K inverter. I would rather not have to hook two inverter together and the fact that this one is not grid enabled is a no go.
Hey Will! In face of more global wars can you please start testing whether these “Smart” connected appliances require actual internet or whether you can pull the data over wifi locally without exposing the network to internet? A lot of people do need smart access for monitoring and control and integration into local smart home systems like HomeAssistant. But last thing we’d want after building self-sustainable energy system is for it to be shutdown remotely due to politics/war.. Sorry for being negative, the mood is in the air. Thank you for all your work!
@@WillProwse great! Please include it as a section in your reviews if you can. We as consumers can only order and check one that your reviews show as worthy
This is great! Ive had the 18k in my cart though I didnt need that much but wanted the code compliance and features. This is like a dream come true!!!!
I just bought the EG4-3000-EHV-48 for $674 with 5% off now I wished I had gone with the 6k for cost of two of these 3k I can get a much better single 6k has duel 2 MPPT inputs. If you buy 2nd one about what the 6k cost.
I should've taken Will's suggestion & bought my system from Current Connected. Signature Solar had everything in stock so I went with them. A professional solar installer setup my system & everything was working perfectly for several weeks. Then 1 day out of the blue the inverter stopped working. At this point I've spent 2 weeks talking with tech support at Signature solar. I've done many test & sent photos of everything numerous times. The level 1 phone rep has finally agreed to move the support ticket to level 2. Hopefully this happens but 2 weeks without any real assistance is not good. It's a good thing I'm camping where I have full hookups or I'd have no power. I'll be using Current Connected from now on!
From wooden wheels to rocket ships in just a few years. Been watching you a while and every couple months it is a sea change in tech. Also thanks for the info
Looking forward to seeing the parallel testing. Even just using it as a "whole house backup" for a power failure it's a relatively inexpensive unit, minus the batteries that is.
Firstly, I love Will and his videos. I’ve gained tremendous knowledge from watching him. I live on an island in Panama and have known four people that have had eg4 6500 all-in-one inverters that have all had to have them replaced by something else they have continuously given problems and show up with bugs that have to be fixed and never seem to get fixed, just letting people know
I deleted my previous comment about signature solar being good with customer service. This is why: I've changed my mind about signature solar. Since ordering my eg4 6000xp and eg4 power pro I have had to call about a couple tech question and my current optimizers compatibility. 45 min wait and hung up called back next day 32 minute wait hung up. Called back this morning 40 min wait and hung up called sales line and got through. I was told to figure it out myself. I called the competitor current connected and got the question answered in a few minutes.
70 comments in one hour!!! Im so happy im not the only dude vichariously living out my fantasies with these videos through this guy making up all these scenarios!
Thanks, Will. I bought mine with your discount code and it has been running half my house for several weeks. I have a transfer switch but no need to touch it. The 6000XP manages everything... my 240V pool motor and all of the 120V circuits at the same subpanel. Thanks for the tip on this great item. I installed it all myself using your guidance, had it checked by an electrician (I had done it right) and fired it up. I'm running 2 strings of 3960w of solar panels and 800AH of plain old LiTime batteries. I'm not happy that the only way to program the battery bank is to choose "Lead Acid" but it's working nonetheless. You are my hero, Will.
This has to be one of your best videos of late. Lots of details (good and bad) from every angle. So much better than the "I love these because they match my new paint!" WTF?!?!! Awesome job on this one!
Will, bro we just need you to start your own company and start producing the ultimate systems for us! I would pay top dollar for something you put your name on!
Since it has the built-in circuit breaker for the battery connection, does this mean we no longer need a fuse (like the 400amp ones used commonly with the EG4 rack etc.)
Love to see the rapid evolution of this equipment. We're building a house in a year and will solarize the year after that. Very excited about the improvements that will occur in the next two years.
I noticed the Doyle Cable cutters as well as the Bauer heat gun. My guy is smart and thrifty. Thanks for the video! Really helping me decide where I am putting my hard-earned money. My renogy 3500 has done the wife and I good, but EG4 is going to be what we need to grow the family.
Thank You will. Started mine Running this afternoon. 1 Glitch with my Battery not being Recognized. I called Signature support and in 2 Minutes I was Talking to Ethan. He walked thru the changes necessary. It was up and Running in 10 minutes.
Arc fault detection and Rapid Shutdown support is really great to see on a less expensive unit -- should allow for code compliant installs that don't break the bank.
Will, Eddie (Head of Luxpower America's) has said on your forum that Luxpower is not a manufacturer. Research and development company was his description. I think supply chain transparency is important in the industry and that must be considered when tire kicking.
Thanks for the review. I appreciate you sharing your tip for minimum String voltage. I have small system for my cargo trailer (1 EG 6500 and 3 server rack batteries) I'm about to add the panels to the roof, so this was helpful information. Do you want to guess how I was able to build that system with very little knowledge? HAHAHA I appreciate you.
I have been watching you for years and listened to your ordeal as a young Man, I think that I can safely say that we love you like a Son and care very much .
Good testing. The 12,000 W 10 second rating. Is most likely a resistive load test. So a 1 power Factor. Inductive motors can have a power factor as low as .2 when starting.
I was wondering if this could run my 240V 300ft deep 1HP well pump. Its in rush current could be >30A. I was considering transformer based Signeer/Sungold 6000w continuous and 18000w surge for a few seconds. So you are almost sure this inverter would not be able to run my well pump.
Split phase output, 240 awesome, on this section , for the old version you stated two in parallel, my comment is that you state in series two old version, will provide 240, thank you for this video, the world needs it , I’m a subscriber and humbling say I was a graduate in Electronics engineering, , again, you are a smart , and I admire that. 🎉
I was just at the “All Energy” exhibition here in Australia and there are lots of companies coming out with single and 3 phase all in one units (batteries and inverter/chargers/etc) including Anker. Theirs actually looks really good too! There was about 15 different ones there, but everyone is heading that way it seems… Being Australia, they’re all 240V. So lots of awesome stuff coming in the near future
@@semidemiurge Anker SOLIX X1 is one of them that’s being released in 2024. Growatt EASE 3~6KTL is another There’s an EPever one as well which sounded like was going to be a really affordable price too
Great video Will,I’ve got one LV 6548 and I’ve been thinking about getting a second one to get to 240V but space is a big issue with my setup,it might be a no brainer just to get this one and move the LV out to my shop or something. Thanks for staying on the cutting edge of the industry all of your fans truly appreciate it.
I bought mine yesterday and will be installing it in the new few weeks (still recovering from spine surgery). I just liked everything about it especially not back feeding the grid. Thinking about doing a complete backboard over haul to clean it up a bit. Will let you know how it goes.....
This unit with the new eg4 14.3kw battery box seems like a great combo. About 5k so is about 1500 more than the delta pro but your getting so much more for your money.
I'm still plan on ordering the 18K... but the 6000XP is a good step before going to the 18K.... I haven't decided yet... I have the Ecoflow Delta 2 Max to fill in my camping needs and Emergency use..now that got me interested in solar... ugh....for sure my dad can use the 6000xp since he doesn't use that much power besides Dehydrators so the 6000xp would be good use for him..and just hook up internet access for him. and some tea grinders..hmmm
Thanks for the video Will. They keep improving these systems almost like Moore's Law maybe even faster. I like the fact these are for off grid & 220v loads which is the goal "for me anyways" replacing the Grid. Have not had any issues with the EG4 6500EX but yes, they need improvement but that's everything in the Alternative power field always needing improvement. Just don't wait for the latest and greatest get it while you can then improve upon that always nice to have redundancy. Stay Safe & Good Luck
This may be exactly what I want... We don't need to run a whole lot. but our budget just got slashed. Yes, you just confirmed, that it can supplement the generator with the batteries. That is what I was looking for with the Anker kickstarter. We have a very weak generator, but we won't need a very big one if we can limit the input from the generator to 2000 watts.
The low test you were doing on that was pretty impressive. You went through a lot of trouble to get a lot of stuff together. However, the minute that motor pinged that breaker I knew that was short to ground been That is an unforgettable sound kind of a bummer that it happened during your demo, but still good info teaches other people different things
I feel ya I've been tempted to get some stuff but been waiting to buy a new house that has a shed. If I can swing it I will get some solar on the roof of it and one of these and some batteries for emergency backup at the least. Not sure if power is run to the shed yet
Hey Will, In your reviews how bout adding your take on a "mobile" application of the product you are looking at....especially the 600xp! Great job on educating us DIYers!
Yes, it looks great. But Sungold solar has a 8000 watt that does even more and is high frequency and split phase. It only makes sense to try doing an exam on the SunGoldPower 8KW 48V Split Phase Solar Inverter .
This might be exactly what we need for a UPS for some devices in the house. I want to hookup a 220 volt well pump (700 watts) two refrigerators and a propane fireplace fan. My question is how unbalanced can the 220 legs be and still run the pump?
I have commend you on your talent explaining how these inverters work. plus your knowledge of the different battery types and the way these circuits are hooked up. im glad you are there helping people the way you do kudos to you Will.
I noticed nobody has gone into depth regarding the generator aspect of this inverter. I would like to know about hooking an inverter generator in to supplement or charge the batteries etc in a truly of grid system where all you have is batteries, solar panels, and a generator. A video covering this would be great.
I had the same question. We could kind of hear when he was showcasing it at max load, and it did seem kind of loud. The spec sheet claims 52 dB or something like that. That doesn't give a real-world comparison, though. It would be great to know in relation to the EG4 6500W all-in-one, which I believe Will said was super loud compared with the 18k.
I don't have any experience with older equipment. I just finished my first system. I chose the PowMr Sun-Smart 10K for my system. It has better features than this unit (it can function on the grid) handles more power 10Kw vs 6Kw, and is priced similarly. I paid $1545, but on sale now it is only $1,272. I have had it up and running for a little over a week now. It seems to function as advertised. Understanding the instructions was at times confusing, but my emails with questions were answered within 24 hours each time I made an inquiry. I would say that overall it is a better value and a more capable unit than this EG4 6000XP.
This looks like a good option for me. I currently use a Ecoflow Delta Pro as a UPS for several things in my house, connected to grid power. Let's just say, it has been glitchy at best. I am planning on doing a permanent system and this looks like it will be the ticket. Can't beat the price. Probably will have a bigger system for less than my D Pro.
I soooo want to install this in my house and setup an ac unit in my living room to help with cooling the house down and heating it during the winter. Man I so want this!
Same question, the speck sheet says 120/240V AC input, but that wasn't enough for me to know for sure. The manual says: "It is a good rule of thumb to size your generator for at least 1.5x the output of the inverter to allow for powering loads and charging batteries." Still... so if you have no load can you use a 1000W generator??? (not totally clear to me.) It dis speck generator loads less than 30A, but no voltage, and no minimum given. So maybe you can charge batteries with an under-specified generator ???
Well that looks like just what I need to move away from the solar generators. Only thing I wonder, can you run only a 120 in at the generator? Will it just charge the battery and use the inverter for both output phases? I ask because I have just a 120 inverter that can only put out 3000 watts.. can you set the max on the generator input? Thanks for all your testing!
Will...Let me ask the question that many people are asking in other forums. I bought one 6500ex 4 months ago with plans to buy a 2nd one at the end of this year. My current 6500ex powers my entire house on 120v (everything except my a/c). The second 6500ex would allow me to also run my 3 ton a/c. Would you recommend that I buy the 2nd 6500ex or replace my current 6500ex with the 6000xp which would cost about the same but give me 220v? My house (without the a/c) never uses more than about 2000 watts at one time. Would a single 6000xp run that plus the 3 ton a/c (maybe with soft start)??? The 6500's seem so outdated now, cleaner install, better app monitoring, etc. Also, is the 6000 quieter? I built my current system using your guide. Thanks Will.
Will, this is off topic for todays video. I was sitting in my shop looking at my hand truck generator when I came up with an idea. Why not put another battery on the back of the rails above the wheels. It would be a simple welding project. You could have 10 Kw of 110 volt on a EG4 EX on a dolly. It might even be better to get two 24 volt batteries and run them in series. I think the dolly might even be more balanced to roll around.
Can you clarify how much power can pass thru when plugged into the grid? I want to install in 50 amp motorhome but wonder how much power it can pass thru when I’m plugged into a 50 amp plug.
I’m planning on upgrading my 48v system using this inverter with eg4 LL-S batteries. I am also looking to add 500-700w of hydro. That adds another level for hook ups but there are smarter people than me that have that figured out
Another fantastic review. We're really seeing some great products and advancements. I would really like to see 600VDC max for PV input. Increasing series string capacity is really important to keep wire size down and/or increase run distance with larger wire.
Will! Blessing brother! There’s another guy named Will not far from you. His channel is called Will Survives. He’s living off grid an hour outside of Vegas I believe. He built a cabin but he doesn’t have a great solar set up. There’s also some ventilation and safety concerns regarding his indoor wood burning stove, and I believe he could use help with a battery powered exhaust system. His story sort of reminds me of your early story, and he could greatly benefit from the blessing of your knowledge. Anyways he’s in a race to get things set up before winter hits. Not my place to say but would make for a very wholesome and interesting collaboration. Cheers Will, lots of love for you
Can you do grid passthrough for 120V in and out (just L1 connected, and not an L2) and only have the 240V when you are on solar/battery? Basically I'm interested in using it in a garage where I only have 120V right now, but in the event of a power outage it would be handy to have 240V available from solar/battery.
Will, one thing that I have a question with on this unit for you to test is. In an RV situation on the road, we would use a 50a-30a dog bone down, in cases where the 120v 30 amp is the only pedestal available. Can you please tell me if the inverter will still pass through the one leg of 120? Or would the unit just switch to battery if one leg is lost? Maybe a setting? Or something the manufacturer could make work In software?
It would not support this configuration. Needs 120/240v input for ac charger. For you though you could add a chargeverter to take in both voltage sources.
Luxpower has had these out for five years?! - darn it! Bought the MPP 6048 (similar to this unit) three years ago (but they are only $943 ea.)...oh well will find a place for it at the cabin one day! Looking foreward to seeing the parallel connection and testing.
All the testing you did here seemed to be fairly well balanced across the legs. Were you able to test imbalanced loads as well? This would be a good "real world" test.
Thanks for sharing this. I just purchased it as a backup in case my 18kw unit fails. I'll be leaving for Puerto Rico soon and don't want to be without a backup as it will most likely take a while to repair or get a replacement unit. I'm a state licensed electrical contractor and may I suggest you test the motor before you try it on a unit like this. I had to hold my breath when you tried it as I had a feeling it was shorted out or the motor was locked. Glad you didn't blow the inverter up "whew!
I really appreciate your information as I am completely clueless concerning this topic. I am building an off grid cabin and trying to gain enough information to get the project finished safely. After watching this video I am pretty convinced that this system is what I need. Just have to find out how many solar panels and batteries I will need. Thank you!
You could buy 4 of those for the same price as an 18K. Looking forward to seeing how the parallel operation works. Do you think two of these could be hooked up to a single EG4 PowerPro battery? Just trying to figure out how you would wire them up...
I think that is the way I will also go….buy 2 of these EG4 6000XP models and the EG4 PowerPro WallMount 14.3 Kw Battery from Signature Solar. They’re working on giving me a shipping quote, right NOW! This will be adequate to supply my whole house needs to run a couple fridges, a washer and dryer, plus a Hybrid Water Heater, with plenty of power to spare!
Hi Will, I am in South Africa and I have been using the LuxPower 5kW it's a great product. Initially, you sort of convinced me with the GroWatt, I ended up with LuxPower simple because of the two MPPT feature which Growatt didn't have. Actually here in South Africa they also sell the 3kW version. I stay in the farm, "country you will call it" I actually use it for mainly inductive loads borehole water, booster pump and few appliances in the house. Still to try it on my geyser (water heating) once I have 2nd string of PVs for other MPPT. (my geyser is rated 3000W @240v and drawing 62.5A in the battery and/or on 3300 PV array string doesn't sit well, cannot afford to blow anything up, these systems are relatively pricey this side, I see you guys refer them as the cheap - suppose one day you will ship me some unused batteries) One concern I have is the battery registration on the controller. I have a 100Ah (shoto)battery and it is read as a 50Ah on the inverter and many people have suggested different ways from updating firmware, to ensure option 3 is set to Lithium battery nothing is working. That said I have load tested the battery and it does give that 100Ah just that I don't know what the long term effect between the battery and the inverter if this left unchecked and the fact that I do want to increase the battery bank eventually. Lastly in my opinion they have done well in safety, one time I could swore that the inverter blew up the lighting affected the grid, the inverter took over the load and shortly after that the lighting struck, my fridge, borehole controller and electric fence were blown-up, the inverter tripped and I was so sure it was dead and to my surprise the inverter was perfectly fine!
Great news! Be mindful the manual states 50w idle consumption when ac connected in standby mode NOT 10w as your video stated. Once again thank you for another great video.
Does this have the same issues as the eg4 6500EX and the flickering lights fiasco? I have updated to latest firmware and still have the lights flickering. Avoid the eg4 6500Ex like HERPES people! Tech is giving run around. I suspect they know many are defective in this regard and are avoiding replacement.
Their site says it's UL 1741 certified now. I have a 10.5K grid tied system and thanks to your video, I'm thinking of going with their 6K and split the system up, part grid tied, part battery.

Thank You
@@ryanh5370 good question, I would stick to 48V in parallel. In series, there will be voltage drift over time
@@ryanh5370 v2 is unnecessary but if you can afford it, they are really nice. The screen and features is nice

Hello BARR NONE❤️🔥❤️🔥🇺🇸
Will, I used your tutorials to install a simple system in my art studio and shop in my barn two years ago that has functioned flawlessly ever since. I knew nothing about solar electric units, wiring, configuration, etc beforehand. Using your book as a guide and your online installation videos, I bought and assembled everything with just a little help from a friend. I use the system every day and it has made a big difference in my life. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
Awesome!!
Hey that's good to hear. I'm curious what size system you set up?
Will's videos and comments like this are what the internet was built for... That, and hot moms that live 25 miles away from me.
Yes, I would be interested in the size of your set up. I too am putting together a studio/shop and am wanting to power off grid. I have a table saw 240/3hp that I would like to power. Just wondering if it is possible with battery/inverter set up. I had initially thought a generator would be the only way to go until now. Thanks!
Wow, seems like every few months there's a new inverter and/or battery that changes my mind about what to go with. Seems like an impressive unit.
lul he said impressive unit
i had a few different inverter/battery setups in my carts on different websites (for over a month) trying to decide because nothing quite matched what i needed it for. but i think im ordering this today. i think my indecisiveness really paid off this time lol
So you still need to buy a battery to use with this? Correct??
@@mitchellchristenson3717 I am in the same boat but thinking I will still go with the 18K inverter. I would rather not have to hook two inverter together and the fact that this one is not grid enabled is a no go.
@@LarryRichelliwhat do you mean by “not grid enabled”?

What a great inverter
This is great! Ive had the 18k in my cart though I didnt need that much but wanted the code compliance and features. This is like a dream come true!!!!
Nice to see things like breakers being integrated. I do hope they make a 3kW single-phase unit like this.

I've had great luck with signature solar
My purchase from Signature Solar for this inverter (EG4 6000xp) was flawless. Thanks for making this video! :)
From wooden wheels to rocket ships in just a few years. Been watching you a while and every couple months it is a sea change in tech. Also thanks for the info
Welcome back Will. Thank you for your time. Hopefully your shop will be completed soon. I hope you give us a walk through. ❤
Looking forward to seeing the parallel testing. Even just using it as a "whole house backup" for a power failure it's a relatively inexpensive unit, minus the batteries that is.
Instead of an all in one like anker or ecoflow this seems to be the front runner for whole home backup (adding batteries of course)
This is a game changer, amazing how far this industry has come in the last 5 years.
Firstly, I love Will and his videos. I’ve gained tremendous knowledge from watching him. I live on an island in Panama and have known four people that have had eg4 6500 all-in-one inverters that have all had to have them replaced by something else they have continuously given problems and show up with bugs that have to be fixed and never seem to get fixed, just letting people know
Thank you!
I deleted my previous comment about signature solar being good with customer service.
This is why:
I've changed my mind about signature solar.
Nice!! That's awesome 😁👍🏻
This has to be one of your best videos of late. Lots of details (good and bad) from every angle. So much better than the "I love these because they match my new paint!" WTF?!?!! Awesome job on this one!
I've been installing trace, xantrex and eventually schneider, now we switched to Fortress, but this inverter at that cost is absolutely phenomenal
Will, bro we just need you to start your own company and start producing the ultimate systems for us!

me too! That was my fist thought.@@chasmarischen4459
Since it has the built-in circuit breaker for the battery connection, does this mean we no longer need a fuse (like the 400amp ones used commonly with the EG4 rack etc.)
This thing looks like a "slam dunk" for my 50A 5th-wheel power system!
Proof that some companies do listen tobehat we want
Love to see the rapid evolution of this equipment. We're building a house in a year and will solarize the year after that. Very excited about the improvements that will occur in the next two years.
I noticed the Doyle Cable cutters as well as the Bauer heat gun. My guy is smart and thrifty.
Thanks for the video! Really helping me decide where I am putting my hard-earned money. My renogy 3500 has done the wife and I good, but EG4 is going to be what we need to grow the family.
I'd love to see you hook it up to electric heat for your house. These are great videos I love the updated timing
Awesome :)
Exactly, might not run a deep well.
There was about 15 different ones there, but everyone is heading that way it seems…
Being Australia, they’re all 240V.
So lots of awesome stuff coming in the near future
Do you have any links to these units. Interested in the 3 phase in particular.

Will, your videos are so superior, I swear I could smell that motor short after the switch was flipped . . .
I bought mine yesterday and will be installing it in the new few weeks (still recovering from spine surgery). I just liked everything about it especially not back feeding the grid. Thinking about doing a complete backboard over haul to clean it up a bit. Will let you know how it goes.....
"At least we got to test the breakers" - classic Will!
This unit with the new eg4 14.3kw battery box seems like a great combo. About 5k so is about 1500 more than the delta pro but your getting so much more for your money.
I was about order the 18k but was more than i needed. I am so glad this is coming. Fantastic
I'm pretty new in the solar area,36 yr retired HVAC mechanic.
I REALLY LIKE WHAT YOU JUST REVIEWED HERE.💯
Now just need to look up the cost..... 🙏
Awesome brother please explain I’m all 👂lol
The low test you were doing on that was pretty impressive. You went through a lot of trouble to get a lot of stuff together. However, the minute that motor pinged that breaker I knew that was short to ground been
That is an unforgettable sound kind of a bummer that it happened during your demo, but still good info teaches other people different things
Incredible. Thank you always so much Will! You're a hero and trusted resource. Bless

Gosh darn it, I just purchased two eg4 3000’s for the same price.
I feel ya I've been tempted to get some stuff but been waiting to buy a new house that has a shed. If I can swing it I will get some solar on the roof of it and one of these and some batteries for emergency backup at the least. Not sure if power is run to the shed yet
This guy is the best, very Knowledgeable. I've been wathing him for years, he had a very interesting start.
This is a very cool device with a lot of features. I like the built in circuit breakers.
Hey Will,
In your reviews how bout adding your take on a "mobile" application of the product you are looking at....especially the 600xp! Great job on educating us DIYers!
For those security concerns, you can always disconnect after firmware and settings updates.
Yes, it looks great. But Sungold solar has a 8000 watt that does even more and is high frequency and split phase.
It only makes sense to try doing an exam on the SunGoldPower 8KW 48V Split Phase Solar Inverter .
Thanks for getting back to some low cost options.😊
"I'm going to stand behind the wall." Love it!!
Will P. Hiding behind the wall to flip a switch!, terrifies us average guys😮
Since you said "Current Connected" as a supplier, I am now SOLD! I will never deal with Signature Solar again. Thanks, Will!
I noticed nobody has gone into depth regarding the generator aspect of this inverter. I would like to know about hooking an inverter generator in to supplement or charge the batteries etc in a truly of grid system where all you have is batteries, solar panels, and a generator. A video covering this would be great.
What was the noise level like? I know you mentioned the 18k was very quiet during all aspects of use.
Will, could you test the 10W AC/grid idle? The latest specs sheet say
Good question.
@@sh839c forums have said it must be a 240V gen to charge. But I’m still curious about the AC idle.
PV shutoff, Breakers really simplified the unit. Nice features
Feels like EG4 has finally programed a lot of the features that made Victron stand out. Even the internals on that 6k look good.
Finally! split phase in a single unit!!!
They discontinued the 6000EX split phase after only one year leaving you unable to upgrade 😡
Harbor Freight must love you, 4 shop vacuums sucking, three heat guns running, 2 motors humming and a partridge in a pear tree.
This looks like what I have been looking for.
I believe I can use this in place of the dual Victron setup for my RV.
Yes did that test in video. 3000W on one lef

Crap! Totally missed that those first few heat gun tests were just on one leg. Thank you for that!@@WillProwse
Great to know that the 2-6500EX inverters I bought just over a year ago are already obsolete. Haven't even unpacked them yet.
Yeah screwed me too with the 6000EX I was getting ready to upgrade 😡
They have an upgrade program, I seen a video on youtube about it
Dammit, now I want to upgrade from the 6500
Yeah, I just purchase 2 6500 :(. Now I am getting light flickering. I bet this unit works better
This unit looks sufficiently compact to do a hand truck build, with two rack batteries at the bottom, capable of split phase/ 240v house feed ?
I ordered at 6000xp and and eg4 power pro,,(14kw) plan on hand truck build when they arrive
Stay away from Eg4 they discontinue inverters after only one year!
Circular saw, wet/dry vac, coffee pot etc would make good testing subjects
Can I use this to be an inverter to my generator for clean back up power?
Hi Will, I am in South Africa and I have been using the LuxPower 5kW it's a great product. Initially, you sort of convinced me with the GroWatt, I ended up with LuxPower simple because of the two MPPT feature which Growatt didn't have. Actually here in South Africa they also sell the 3kW version. I stay in the farm, "country you will call it" I actually use it for mainly inductive loads borehole water, booster pump and few appliances in the house. Still to try it on my geyser (water heating) once I have 2nd string of PVs for other MPPT. (my geyser is rated 3000W @240v and drawing 62.5A in the battery and/or on 3300 PV array string doesn't sit well, cannot afford to blow anything up, these systems are relatively pricey this side, I see you guys refer them as the cheap - suppose one day you will ship me some unused batteries)
One concern I have is the battery registration on the controller.
Will’s studs and drywall are going to look like beavers attacked by the time he sells that house lol.
😂😂😂
