    My wife and I sent yesterday our only daughter to study in a university for four years. The knowledge that she will not be with us always at home filled me with sadness. Mr. York's "Home' perfectly emits this emotion for me.

    People keep saying hes an entry level composer because he doesn't write ridiculously hard stuff. I agree a lot of his compositions are relatively simple (btw he has written some extremely advanced stuff) but they're always perfect and very effective in getting emotion. Its not how hard he can make it, its about making it exactly what he wants and exactly what we hear and he does that better than most.

    In my opinion York has the magic, of being one of the best composers for guitar I could think of
    Even though his compositions seem to be relatively easy to play , the take them to the level he give them is simply not easy
    This man’s work has inspired me to the point of buying a classical concert guitar and returning my guitar studies on my own after approximately 15 years of absolutely no activity
    Had the old guitar I had hanging in the wall for about 8 consecutive years
    And from May of last year (2023) to now Jan 2024 I’ve recovered all the technique I had and more to the point of practicing right now Sunburst, all you need in life to succeed in anything in life is love and work into it

    with your guitar playing, the listener
    by means of. No matter where you are
    in the world, far from the family
    and the home, with your
    game, you can play for a few moments,
    the warmth and closeness of his loved ones, in the
    sounds of your playing, but also in the
    perfect combination of wood, lacquer
    and masterful guitar construction, from
    Antonio de Torres. The very
    warm tones of the guitar and the

    When someone leaves this guitar he is able to open or record any soul that is trapped by suffering or an illusion, he is able to propel our sacred energy light years towards the planet Love, and also what is necessary for us to be human, but more amazing to see over 669 people in negativity. See here and don't know how to appreciate the melody, since they say they are alive, and yes they are ... they are experiencing a feeling that they are not able to build or be love. But, it is beautiful to realize that 31 thousand people liked it!
    This is wonderful! Congratulate Andrew York for not only playing his instrument, but above all transmitting love to him. For me, a great artist, full of good feelings seen so clearly in every note he plays. Thank you my friend and may the universe give you much more joy and love in your life. Hassin Ghannam

    As a collector of vintage instruments for many years as well as a guitarist, I'm awestuck by the incredible tone of the Torres guitar. Any experienced guitarist will note the incredible accuracy of the octaval and harmonic notes along with the exceptional overall tone of this wonderfully constructed 129 year old masterpiece of a guitar. This all reflects what a true musical engineer Antonio Torres was and his legacy lives on today in the construction of modern day guitars based on his research and construction techniques. Also, kudos to Andrew York.......one damn fine guitarist who is able to awaken this century old gem of a guitar.....

      Coming back and reading the comments again after learning this piece four years ago, I want to play it for more people. Apparently, it soothes the heart universally. Good medicine. I learned it while grieving the loss of my mother and just after I had written her obituary and life sketch. In the first part, I see her childhood, full of hope but even then some sadness. Middle part is when she struggled with society and rose to maturity, then began to dance. Last part is when the brain injury left her a shell of a person yet with the same spirit and goodness. End is the powerful legacy and ascent into the spirit world. All of this guides my interpretation when I play it and it is my eulogy to her, her enduring character, and her special heart.

    I am sitting in a Volvo V70 II built in the year 2000. It has a CD and Casette player and I installed an Aux bluetooth module to listen to online music. I had numerous audiophile tracks playing and every one of them reached a maximum of what those speakers could bear. This song sounded perfectly. People should question themselves; why is that ? Centuries of difference between technology but yet, pristine quality can be preserved. I think it has not only something to do with the technology, but also with the spiritual aspect of it all. Listening to Shenandoah from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir also resonantes greatly with even the cheapest speakers out there, but not with other great recent pieces. Christ truely seems to want his followers enjoying all of God's glory in music and all sorts of artistic things.

    • @vibratingstring
      @vibratingstring 7 років тому +12

      violins also get better with age. But unlike guits, there are tons of 130 year old fiddles around. You can pick them up for under a grand easily. My son plays one.

    • @jgrossma
      @jgrossma 7 років тому +10

      Ricardo, I didn't say they got better with time, I said the tone was amazing for a 130 year old guitar. They don't all sound like that!

    • @castor5001
      @castor5001 7 років тому +21

      Ricardo Hernández you wrong wood with edge change properties and quality. it not necessarily get better but definitely change. it creates patina it will balance its moisture contend. it will expand and contract creates force with in the instrument that will change sounds with edges. but not necessarily better just different.

    • @jgrossma
      @jgrossma 7 років тому +5

      I didn't really want to get into this, but I'll add my two cents here. In *some* cases guitars tone can improve with age as the woods they are built with lose moisture content. Obviously, in THIS case, any change of this sort would have happened 100 years ago!
      Some people think that as a guitar is actually played, the glue joints and soundboard "break in" from vibration over time and this can improve the tone of an instrument. I've also seen claims made that the actual physical/molecular structure of components in the wood can change over many years with glue and resins in the wood crystallizing, etc, and this can alter the tone. Again, I'm a bit skeptical, but people do believe this. Some think the CONVERSE is true too. . .that the wood breaks down over many years, and older thin wood top guitars in particular can actually sound WORSE over time for this reason.

    • @jgrossma
      @jgrossma 7 років тому +20

      In this particular case, not having heard this instrument 130 years ago, I have no opinion if it improved or not since Torres built itbut I will add one more thing.
      Antonio Torres built guitars in an era of catgut strings. York is playing this instrument with modern synthetic/wire wrapped strings. Obviously this is subjective, but I personally think the modern strings do sound better than the older gut ones. Which means that this guitar probably does sound better today than in Torres's time, with the improvement having nothing to do with the instrument itself!

    Meadow sways in gentle breeze Yonder ,a single cloud sail's on it's way past an evening sun .Birds song fill the air afar .By mountain stream to water fall .beauty abounds.Yet silence is every where, and the mind free to be as it should in stilness ,All that is ,was and will be, lie within spirit ,a transient moment in all eternity. This evokes a timelesness and truth within, and brings one to a place where there is nothing and there lies all .This piece brings me to a place where there's an eternal now ,a sense of power waiting to be released into love and wisdom .

    Nice mellow pleasing sound. My absolute favorite is Sunburt with introduction. I learned the entire piece and have had the privilege of playing it at home and for close friends at gatherings. My right hand no longer works as it should and I haven’t been playing much for the last 12 years. I see the new artists from younger generations excelling in classical guitar and am grateful they are keeping this glorious instrument alive.
