- Come along for a walk through Terminal 3 at San Francisco International Airport to see all the features that the terminal has to offer, including a mini-museum, food court, art, United Clubs and an American Express Centurion Lounge. Terminal 3 is used for United domestic routes and trans-border arrivals from Canada that have pre-cleared US customs and immigration.

My 16-year old daughter is going to take UA to SFO international airport alone, and transfer to Chicago by UA airline again. For domestic flight, does she also go to terminal 3?
On arrival from an international destination, she would have to go through immigration, collect her checked luggage and then check them in again immediately after exiting the baggage hall. There are then signs to follow to get to Terminal 3 where she will have to go through security and then proceed to her gate for the flight to Chicago. It is all very well marked.

From SFO (San Francisco USA) to Canada, is it domestic or international terminal?
The last few times I flew it, Air Canada flew from the International Terminal and United flew from domestic. I’d check departures on line to find out what terminal you particular flight is using today.
I think instead of SFO lowering the gate numbers to 1 across all terminals, they should've kept the numbers the same, but just add the letter. The airport that uses that system is EWR which had gate numbers numbered sequentially from 1 to 139 and all of the gates have a letter on it.
That is a better approach.
Hello, my domestic flight arrives at 7:40 0pm at sfo and intl flight takes off at 11:30pm. As I used my mileage to book tickets with separate airlines, i need to go to baggage claim to get my bag and check in my bag again. Is baggage claim closed to terminal G? Ty
It depends on the airline for the domestic flight and the terminal it arrives at. Regardless, with an almost 4 hour layover, you should have lots of time.
Literally two days after this video was posted, SFO changed all of its gate numberings.

The gate numbers in the video were decal stickers because 2 days after the video was posted, SFO renumbered all 102 gates.

I don't see any gates names E3 or F10 or anything like that system. My ticket says those are the gates ill be dealing with in San Fran Terminal 3. Am I missing something?
You aren’t missing anything. They changed their gate numbering system after I recorded the video. If you do a Google search for a terminal map, you will be able to see exactly where those gates are located.

Haven't been to that terminal in about three years. Don't laugh, but it has a really good Burger King in the middle.

Is there a bus train from Intenational Terminal to Number 3 Terminal?
On arrival to the international terminal, you clear immigration, then collect and recheck your bags. Follow the connections signs that will take you to a security check for Terminal 3. It is about a 5 minute walk from the bag drop to security.

I'll be arriving on a Qantas flight at terminal 1 then will have to collect bags go through customs check bags back in and go to terminal 3 to catch next flight on UA to vegas. Is 2 hrs enough time to do this in..
I have never had a similar itinerary, so I don't have first hand experience. I did a quick search and the published minimum connection time is 105 minutes. That gives you a bit of cushion. You note that you have to clear customs and immigration on arrival. That is your big variable, as the time it takes depends on how many other big international flights arrive in the same time period. You will do that before baggage claim, so your bags will probably be waiting once you complete the immigration procedures. After baggage claim, you will exit the secure area to transit between terminals. That means you need to clear security again at Terminal 3, which again can be highly variable. I am a member of a program that provides expedited immigration and security, so I haven't had the full transit experience in many years. Recently, I was able to get from my plane arriving at the International Terminal to my United gate in Terminal 3 in about 30 minutes. So, if you arrive on schedule, the lines at immigration and security are modest and your bags come out in a normal time, I expect 2 hours should be ok. It won't be leisurely, but it should be sufficient. If the flight arrives late or there is any extra delay along the way, 2 hours could start to look tight.
Have a grate trip to Vegas. I love it there. I have two trips there in the next few months and will be adding more Vegas video to the channel.

How long does it take to walk through the airport?
I have only been in Terminal 3 and the International Terminal. The longest distance between gates takes about 10-15 minutes to walk, depending on how quickly one walks.
