Dude thats sweet! What do you normally work on in the VFX pipeline? Once the movie is out I want to dig into the first and second movies VFX in depth based on the zoom calls recorded by DNEG and the breakdowns and would love suggestions on where to look once this is out.
I like what you said at 3:11 because Denis and Christopher Nolan have mentioned that they view VFX as a tool rather than a crutch. They create most of the effects in camera or practically and use VFX to enhance the shot later on. For example, with Nolan’s Oppenheimer, he used a chemically induced explosion and then enhanced it with VFX to make it seem a lot grander and greater.
@@GarrettHill_ aight idk about that I mean we had Parasite, Oppenheimer, Get Out, Mad Max fury road, Tenet, Dunkirk, Infinity War and more. Though it does belong in this category.
Some characters will not have blue eyes for part of the film. So I don't think the VFX team failed to change the eye color, they just used footage from earlier parts in the film. Can be wrong. Great video
That is true. There will eye color changes and some characters won’t have blue eyes. I think Owen was talking about one or two discrepancies rather then overall
DUDE!!! Read the book!! Haha. You’ll gain a whole new level of appreciation for what Denis Villeneuve is doing with these movies! Much love to the both of y’all for the awesome reaction video. We are getting so close to the release of the movie!!!
7:24 that extra plume is IMHO some large cave collapsing inside the mountain, possibly destruction of the sietch where (spoiler alert) the first son of Paul is killed. 7:54 could be the same place but from inside.
The overall storyline of dune books is insane but relatable, his war/jihad ends in his people killing billions of people throughout the galaxy/universe, then his son takes over as god emperor in the body of the worm which allows him to live for thousands of year so he can control the wars, only for it to end by some creating an AI that wows to destroy the human race and then Duncan Idaho becomes both AI and human(ghola) to save the world, and bene Gesserit finally acknowledge that they'll never again try to make the ultimate power kwisatz hazeratz
Honestly, I wasn’t a huge fan of Part one and I like Denis’ films. Blade Runner 2049 is one of my favourite films. I liked everything about the first one except the story. I couldn’t engage. Part 2 was a gigantic step up. Loved it so much. Everything is on point.
I’ve seen Part One 15 times in the theater. Only twice in IMAX. Got the 4K HDR for my home theater. The new Sand Worm sneak peak unbelievable- - saw that at the Air and Space Museum IMAX on the 9th. Will go to the Fan First for Part Two on the 29th in IMAX then meet up with my future son-in-law on March 1st. I’m not crazy!😂
You're not crazy at all! I watched it once in IMAX and then bought the digital version to watch at home many many times. I tried to get tickets for the fan first event (for Dune: Part Two) Feb 25th but it was sold out. I'm going opening day on March 1st and then probably buying more tickets to see in IMAX everyday for the next week 😂
@@austinbrady I thought it was actually pretty deep. The script was wonderful and the visuals are stunning. It does go a little slow, but I thought it was really good
There was a romance between Chani and Paul in the book. I mean, they had three children together! I hope I don't have to explain to the hosts where babies come from!
@@austinbrady Oh, maybe I misunderstood what you said. It seems as if you were saying there was no romance between Chani and Paul. Maybe you meant they never had that specific conversation?
Exactly. I haven't read the book but Owen has and he mentioned they never had that specific conversation or interaction. They for sure have a romance and I'm looking forward to seeing that played out in this film (and then I can go back and read the book to see the differences).
Who else is hyped for Dune: Part Two?!
Please take me with you to see it in theaters!
I saw Part One 13 times in cinemas. Yeah, I am hyped as..
Taken days off to travel to an Imax in a different city to enjoy the release properly!

Maybe they wanted to describe the transition. Blue eyes is the result of eating a lot of spice. That's why Paul's eyes normal at first.

Will need to check that out!
I would highly recommend the book! I’m really excited for this movie! It’s going to be insane!

Love this new style of content and I love that you and Owen did this together. Great work.
Glad you enjoyed it! More to come.
Just read the book. It’s so compelling, it was the easiest book I’ve ever read and I’m not a big reader.
I’m super interested in it!
Dune: Part Two looks soooo good!
It really does 🎉
The blueness in the eyes comes from ingesting spice.
That is correct
Yes, absolutely do a whole movie reaction when the time comes. I love your insights.
Thank you! Will do!
If you see the Dresses of the bene gesserit up close they have the bene gesserit symbol all over them which is a nice touch

Read. The. Book! Dude!!
Okay okay 😂
I be you loose your sh*t watching the movie on IMAX already?? Damn WOW. I’ll go again probably this Sunday. lol.
I’ve watched it twice in theaters and it was insane!!
Way hyped for part 2. Also, I have people get mad at me too for not reading the book lol..... But who has time for those things anyway

I just did my part and liked, you need to read it.

Sure, and then it will get a copyright strike and I'll have to take the video down

I guess so haha! When Owen has time we’ll sit down and film one ✌🏼

Go read the books. At the very least, read Dune and Dune Messiah.

Should I read all of them or just the ones with Paul?
I think the first book 'Dune' 1965 is the best, you should read that. If you liked it you could continue with Messiah and Children of Dune.
