Wish I had one of these seal teams! Love my pups!
Once sog sold out they actually dropped two line’s. And several models witch is a shame because who out there would love a brand new sog tiger shark. Outstanding video blade brother. Outstanding 🇺🇸👍🏻
It’s bittersweet.
Great for the collector ( if they already own )…
But sad for the ones either just starting a collection or just seeking one .

I would like to put in my two cents, if I may. As much as I like the innovation and new designs SOG comes up with, personally, I feel as though SOG is kinda departing from the legacy of their company. What really drew me to the SOG brand is their homage to the MacV Sog knife. I love the seal knives and their variants. I’m very disappointed with them discontinuing their “main” line, leaving only the pup and the pup elite. I’m a little late in the game of collecting, but I kinda wish I’d gotten the tiger shark myself and some of the older models. Their newer designs don’t really appeal much to me. I guess I’m a little “old school” with my taste. Anyway, I’ve rambled enough. Great review sir, and great topics of conversation. Love the knife community, sans the trolls:)

@@tubes5150 The trident is very rare now. I don’t think I’ve even seen it on ebay or maybe cost too much for me to consider. I decided to go the practical approach and asked my wife for the tech bowie, but I still prefer the more traditional classic leather stacked look of the 2.0. Looking back, I kinda wish I could’ve gotten that instead.
I imagine the Bucks you mentioned are all time best sellers. Perhaps a Case Stockman or trapper knife too.

But that’s the first one that comes to mind .
I had one I bought from the Army Navy store back in the late 70’s .
( I’ve had like 6 times over the last few decades ).
But I sure do wish I held on to that original.

I was lucky enough to have bought the sog trident 2.0 fixed blade and the sog creed Bowie,both such awesome blades, sadly sog didn’t think to simply make an upgraded version of them to boost the sales. Now they are gone. Best selling knife of all time is Kabar USMC, spyderco paramilitary 2. :) good to see your new videos dude!

people dont understand the old SOG specialty knives or the 2.0 made in 2006 time are LONG GONE. GSM Outdoors bought SOG in 2021 and since then they are quickly killing the company they bought with CRAPPY Chinese Steel (NOT AUS-8 Cry Taiwan). thats why i quickly bought the SOG bowie 2.0 & The Super Bowie to go along my Original 1986 Seki Japan SK-5 Carbon Steel S1. full circle. you will never ever get decent SOG MACV-SOG bowie anymore it would cost too much to get into production now after the pandemic....

I don't understand why some manufacturers do that. Buck for example. Discontinued the 630 reaper . The Mesa and many other from his line . Okc do the same and of course sog too.

The 80's survival knife that came out after first blood was a very big seller. Ive owned 4 or 5 and still have 2. Also the swiss army knife was popular back in the day too

I would guess the kabar is the best selling combat / utility knife, I got the Seal team elite and I love the shape of it, but I really struggle to get a really sharp edge on it, don’t know if I got a bad heat treat one , it is marked Taiwan on the blade. ❤️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️👊
Both of mine say Taiwan on them .
That’s not a bad thing .
There have been quite a few awesome blades that were made in Taiwan.
Including some of Pohl Force knives .
I really suck at sharpening so I’m the wrong guy to talk about that .
I just use a Diamond rod .
A few licks on each side and I’m good to go .
If it really needs a better edge ??

After what I did to my Buck 119 ( about 20 years ago )… I vowed never ever try to put a better edge on any blade .
I suffer from PTSD of knife sharpening now .

But this is SOG - Sort of Garbage. I have 2 of them - The Jungle Warrior and the Trident. The first one is 20 years old, because our guru of weapons lost it in his shop, and when he finally found it
I think the Buck 110 but the Benchmade Bugout took over the knife world for some years too...Too many good knives out there and I think you and Donavan Tew have the market covered....Good stuff....

Just bought the Sog Seal pup elite, straight edge knife. I swear from the time you put this video out, they jumped about 10/15 dollars. Supply and demand.

I’ll never get why someone would use a beautiful blade to commit a crime .
They usually wind up chucking in the nearest river .

I love sog knives. I was lucky enough to purchase a sog seal team knife(w/o jimping) before it was discontinued. I actually looked at the elite and was interested in getting one, but it seems like it is. Really sad. As far as the best selling knife of all time, i say the buck 110:)

@@tubes5150 I also thought Kabar, but considering the 110 is a much smaller package, cheaper, definitely more practical for everyday use, i think the 110 has a much broader market than the classic mark 2:) sorry, just nerded out lol.

SOG never been my go to brand of choice... funny thing is im pretty sure SEALS get cold steel SRK's anyway... so the name is a bit of a misnomer ? Not sure the best selling knife of all time... if I had to guess a fixed blade it would probably be the mora companion?

@@tubes5150 I always thought the Swiss Army was too small and too complex to be of any use mostly a gimmick.
The 110 is a perfect knife, simple, strong and the right size.
Small enough for all practical uses and with the locking mechanism makes for a good self-defense weapon👍🏻

The best Buck 110 story I ever read ( photos included ), was how the Buck 110 saved a man’s life when being attacked by a grizzly.
