Thank you for this video, thank you even more for not painting the case some awful colour. I've seen beautiful vintage Samsonite sets of luggage (which fetch a lot on Etsy) painted and consequently ruined. This video is really helpful 👍
To each their own. I have vintage trian cases that I have just cleaned and left original and one set that I have re-done. I made a matching set out of a train case and small suitcase that were in not as good of shape. Painted them both Robin egg blue, re-lined the suitcase with a blue paisley print fabric, did a black stencil of a bird on a branch on the suitcase, and covered the handle of the train case with lace. I don't see that as "ruined" vintage luggage. I see that as upcycling something that probably would have wound up in the dump.
I have recently discovered vintage train cases and I am just obsessed with them! Thank you for this video. Now I know I can clean up less than pristine ones!
