This movie is set during 2004-2005, I believe. It only looks like the 1970s or 80s because the area where they live is out of touch with styles and trends. It’s evident when you hear them pronounce chimichanga and quesadilla. Internet chat is mentioned, so you know it’s likely after 1995 or so.
Agreed. My mom's family is all in a small midwest town and whenever we went to visit it felt like I dropped out of time. The music was a solid 5-10 years behind what was playing where we lived in Florida. It was also one of the towns that banned MTV because of Beavis and Butthead. It's funny now but at the time as a teen who was only allowed to have a tv to sleep when on vacation- I was very put out, lol.
Whenever I see Rico throw the steak at Napoleon’s face I burst into a long painful laughter. Imagine you’re riding up to your house with your best friend and the first thing your uncle thinks to do is throw wet hot meat at your face 😭
Glad I found this reaction! I have a hard time understanding how people don’t laugh at every other ridiculous moment in this movie, but some things just click with certain people and/or at certain times and not others. So I appreciate that you were on this film’s wavelength, so to speak. XD
One of my favorite movies of my high school years, actually ever. I remember seeing the trailer for it on MTV before it came out and not getting what it was about. My older cousin got it on DVD and told me I had to watch it. I watched it with my parents and my little cousin, everybody loved this movie, my sister too. It didn't do well in the theater but when it came to dvd word spread and it became a cult classic before blowing up and becoming one of the biggest pieces of pop culture in the 00s.
You should watch Nacho Libre next (Jared Hess, the director co-writer for this, directs & writes w/Mike White who also wrote School Of Rock for Jack Black)
You know what this film reminds me of. The Big Lebowski. Just in some ways. The filmmakers said they were influenced by a documentary called Gates of Heaven, by a European filmmaker who makes strange documentaries.
LOVED your reaction!! One of our family favorites - we use many of the 1 liners to this day! It's so stupid, it's hilarious... "Tina, eat your food" & "your mom goes to college" is my 2 sons' faves. 🤣
I can’t watch this movie. It’s awkward, uncomfortable, looks awful and just isn’t funny to me. Must be me because it has done very well. I like your video though! And you have a great laugh…

I laughed so hard at LaFawnda's brother burying his face in his hands as his sister says 'I do'.

I was totally surprised by "Lafawnduh".
Kip did well even if he never becomes a cage fighter

Her tittering drove me away from the review. Very annoying!
I’ve watched this movie about 10 times…and listening to you giggle made me laugh again even more

Starla is played by Carmen Brady, a cis female body builder. She is now 59 years young.
I was always happy for Kip and LaFawnduh. If it works, it works.
"Awkward" it is.
Also, funniest comedy ever made.
Kip looked like the white Flava flav 😂😂

I think they never made a part 2 because the main actor fell on hard times sadly enough he's homless and on Instagram now
India, have you seen Idiocracy? It's SO good and so crazy. Hilarious.
Always and forever...😂
laughed, love this movie
My guess is that this was representing the early 90's, most likely around 93-94.😅
@DarkForest61it's Idaho, don't worry, they're still way behind the times 😅
If you really want to see an awkward movie watch a Japanese movie from 1977 called house.
Awesome
The Sasquach Gang is a great movie. Free on You tube
I'll have to check it out ! I never heard of it, but it has Justin Long so I'll give it a watch .
You are funny
🙂

I like your video though! And you have a great laugh…
I respect them not going for a sequel. This movie is just great.
They made a cartoon! Honestly it wasn’t that bad
Please react to the movie duplex with Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore that came out in 2003
