My concern about this was : ~ they need cut off submarine capability to stay underwater for too long. or it'll always be SS vs SS in the end with lengt of every game up to 25 minutes. also this gonna give the chance for surface ship who doesn't have ASW to kill SS. ~ give CV the ability to detect submarine, give them another aircraft consumable focused only for detecting SS ~ give CV another option to carry deep charge on DB ~ since the SS have homming torpedo who need pinged first, the pinged ship must get notification for being pinged ~ remove spotting ability of SS if she submerge below 8km, or decrease the spotting radius up to 2 or 3 km, or make it only the SS who can see the ship above, or just show the ship above SS on minimap only like what happen if cyclone occur ~ make the damage from flooding twice bigger the deepest SS submerge ~ give the SS chance to flooding from overpen shoot
Cv plane don't have ability to detect subs.. If they did it.. It would make game much worse.. The only that can detect subs are ship on the surface. Like dds for example.. That carry depth charge n seamine to kill the subs For subs underwater time.. Yes.. It should have a timer.. And if they on submerge.. Decrease speed by half.. And get rid that homming thingy.. You know I still would like to see subs have AA and secondary abilities. Yes I know its basically pointless, however I would at least stop hearing (somewhat) my crew complain that I have a perfectly good .50 cal and 3 inch gun that I wont let them use because the higher ups said there just there to make my sub look pretty and nothing else.

The concealment of submarines to aircraft isn't correct: in reality is more difficult to spot a submarine from a ship than from a plane, but WG doesn't know and decided that to spot a submarine from an aircraft you need to be literally above him... Great job WG! Balanced and historically accurate
what is the perk that helps you squadron help stay alive within aa fire, everytime i go sub hunting i get showered by atleast 2 boats, and some times all of the planes get damaged at once by just one flak, and than they are just one shot
I dont really think they will add them. The ss can just surface and the depth charges would do nothing against him. Adding a 4th squadron for ASW doesn´t make too much sense in the game.
Since submarines aren't that agile and can only dodge reliably by going deeper, being able to hit the bombs in a single spot like dive bombers do makes them more efficient

DCs for battleship is eh, sonar equipped float planes are much more viable. Make your team mates support you actually win a multiplayer game is the intention. Submarines are becoming a good counter to battleships since currently it always requires BB to defeat another BB (especially on higher tiers)
What about torps? China has deep diving torps on they’re destroys also if a sub is skimming the surface then you should be able to hit with torps? Idk just a theory
Trust me All we need to counter a sub are : 1. ASW Aircrafts on CV 2. Depth Charges Just like in real life When you think you're safe underwater Then suddenly an ASW helicopter/plane fly above you You're basically a big black spot on their radar/detection monitor

Go to setting when you click on world of warships, then click add game instance. Select public test and download it. You can also find how to exactly do it on the website of world of warship news.

I don’t see why they can’t give the carriers depth charge planes along with the BBs and cruisers, some of the ships in the game did carry king fisher aircraft that could carry depth charges

On which ship are you? The split is gonna come with 9.5, we are currently at 9.3.5. This means you will have at least 2 updates of time. If you are at the t8 or dimitri its still makeable. Even if youanre at t7 it may be possible, depending on how much you are willing to grind

Like how sub commanders can be almost immune to damage by staying just below 6.1m, pop up really quick to fire torps, and back down to 6.1m before someone's shots has a chance to hit. That can be heavily exploitable for subs. One more thing, CL's should be able to take some of the work load off DD's when it comes to ASW work. DD's already have so much to do.
@@sempermilites87 It is way easier said than done. A good submarine will be able to mitigate a lot of damage, but doing that and attacking at the same time is very difficult to do. CLs do have depth charges, but CAs and BBs don´t.
@@ttier Members of our clan on NA spent 7 hours back on Friday on the PTS, trying subs themselves, DD's CL's and CV's against subs, and divisioning subs with other ships, live streaming so the rest of us could watch, and give suggestions and feedback for trying different tactics and ideas in real time. Overall, I'd agree with what Kingpin6100 said on his stream later that day - subs are either completely OP against something that can't spot them or fight back like a BB - or they're completely worthless against a DD or CL that can one-shot them in one pass - there's no middle ground. The one potential game-breaking feature of subs right now, is their ability to spot other ships from a position of near-invulnerability. One tactic my clan mates employed was to div a U-69 with two RN DD's. When an opposing DD or CL tried to take cover in smoke, the U-69 would sneak towards the smoke cloud, pop Hydro Search, spot everything in the smoke, and his two div mates in RN DD's would then trash the enemy DD or CL from the safety of their own smoke, oft times other team mates adding fire support as well. I've seen other games ruined by the addition of a "stealth" class that was poorly balanced. I fear WG is getting ready to make the same mistake with subs.
I think you should´ve let the cachalot hunt the QE. They´re experimenting, and both players have to try the new class. Now talking about submarine hunting... it is very hard to do in a CV. Now CVs and BBs truly need escort, or they die very easily. I kinda like how the meta will change with the addition of submarines.
Too difficult to balance this new line. When they're under water, the only thing could damage them was DC from DDs. Not to mention, Ss also has a consumable that make them immune to dmg. So what can you do with it. On the other hand, lot of Ss was attached with at least one canon on its hull, but they are useless in game. Gameplay purely around torp is so unattractive
they have a consumable to reduce the dmg, not to get immune to dmg, pls stick to the trueth. also this ehole thing could be more balanced, make subs hittaboe much further down like 15 meter when bombing or shooting them, require them to stay on periscope depth to torpedo, make the diving not instant but on a timely delay, i.e after you press dive you have 10 seconds on dive prepartions before actually changing depth
My experience with Leander: If you see a submarine going lower than 50km, it means he used the consumable, so just don´t drop your DCs and wait for it to come up again. Keep him detected with hydro, and if you can, stay close to him. CLs and DDs are faster and more agile than an underwater SS, and they really can´t attack if they´re not able to attack anything because the homing torps can really curve that much to attack players 80m above them. Now what WeeGee should do is maybe nerf the time a SS can stay at max depth.

You can stay underwater for a time but your battery needs to refill

Underwater detection range is around 2km. And yes hydro works on them.

Royal Navy CVs and their carpet bombers may be best suited to hunt and sink submarines but even then, in a limited capacity.

With homing torpedoes (ridiculous), dive below damage threshold, deep dive to counter depth charges, and their spotting, subs are way over-powered.

After 7 hours on the PTS, CV's are effective against STUPID sub commanders, that can't be bothered to dive when there are planes in the area.
I kinda find it silly that CV's cant see what depth Subs are at like everyone else because they can not lockon to them great design WG.
