Just a little correction for the Twitch topic:
If you consider 100 Subs on Twitch at the lowest tier then the income is $200.
You don‘t get a full 100% of the price a user pays for a sub, you only get about 50% (Prime subs make 50%, paid subs make a little less than 50%).
Lowest tier is $3.99 to date as Twitch reduced the prices for sub tiers.
It is $3.99, $8.99 and $19.99 but the cut between Twitch and the streamer stays the same, about 50/50, most of the time (as most subs are paid and not prime subs) a little less than 50% for the streamer.
So to get $500 a month from Twitch you have to have at least a little more than 250 level 1 tier subs.
Almost impossible for a small streamer without years of building a community (or being a beautiful female streamer…).
Other income, like donations or bits, not included as those fluctuate immensely and don‘t come regularly.

not to mention that twitch's discovery system is garbage. If you are a new streamer and stream for 5 hours every day for a week in a popular category, you'll probably only get 1 or 2 unique viewers. Even if you mannage to keep them around long enough to build a comunity, the time and effort you have to put in to maybe get 1 or 2 subs is much better spent doing literally anything else

Yeah as someone who used to stream on twitch and actually make some money, trust me I wouldn't call it t looks side hustle, it's way more difficult than it seems. Just being able to get money requires having an 50 followers and an average of 4 viewers (which is a lot when you're starting out). And then you actually have to be funny, charismatic and entertaining enough for people to like you enough to sub for which you still only get half the money for. It would take a very long time and effort to actually start making semi-decent money.

eBay is really fun if you get your parents to sign up. Trying to buy and sell stuff from car boot sales etc for a profit won’t bring you insane income but it’s really fun, and you can earn a fair bit with very little work.

I have another side hustle idea for kids - Do you go to a school that gives you free art supplies, like clay or wood or fabric, or something like that? I know a lot of people like to complain about how public schools (in the U.S, btw,) cut that stuff and don't have the money, but that's not always the case. See what kind of free stuff you can get from your school, to start a business with. (legally, of course. Don't steal stuff.) When I was in high school, I took ceramics and we were allowed to take as much clay to work on at home, as we wanted. Unfortunately, I didn't know that until literally one week before, graduation, though. I saw another girl taking some home, so I asked the teacher if I could too and she said, "sure. It's your clay. Your parents pay for it with their taxes. Take as much as you want." (This was a public school in New Jersey.) I only had enough time to hurriedly make a little doll tea set in the few days before graduation and I was so angry that I didn't know about this earlier! This was in 2004. Knowing what I know now, I would've taken ceramics all four years of high school, started an eBay business in 2001 and maybe even been able to put myself through college by selling stuff that I made at home. Of course back then, there were less people using the internet, but I think the lack of competition would've made up for it. I also wish I would've gotten a sewing machine and made felt puppets and similar baby toys to sell at craft fairs. We even had class assignments, sometimes where we had to try to think of business ideas that require as little overhead cost as possible. I wracked my brain trying to think of something, but came up empty. It wasn't until recently, when I got out my little tea set for my niece to play with, that the realization hit me that I could've been selling them on eBay back then and probably making a killing and it only would've cost me for shipping, which my dad would've totally taken care of because he would've totally supported me. I even lived within walking distance of a post office, so no need for a car. Lesson? Don't be like me.

    Alright so:
    1. Requirement - dont have friends ✅
About the twitch one: you only get around 50% of the money from subs etc. so you have to scale that up a bit more before getting 5k. Its also pretty hard to build a community because every bozo is streaming atm and even if you have something unique youd still have to be found first

This is a little tip that will put you miles ahead of any adult once you get out of your teenage years, and that is to not go into debt, not car debt, college debt or credit card debt, (house mortgage is ok) if you can do that, then you will have the potential to begin earning much more than most people do

Where do you go to get your message out about babysitting

    • @Holstead
      @Holstead  2 роки тому +2

Once you've done some jobs, referrals/word of mouth. But before that, you could post on Craigslist, Kijiji, Facebook marketplace or Gumtree advertising your service. Create posters and put them in shops. Create fliers and hand post them in people's mailboxes yourself. Or you could start by joining an existing babysitting company, then once you've done some jobs, you could ask the clients if they want to hire you directly for less money

Im already over my 20s what am I doing here? Although I do wish I took more care or want to do some of these things as I didnt have any friends anyways so I would of benefitted from a couple of these things. Like the streaming ( although I absolutely hate streaming and streamers but I digress ).. But really what I would of enjoyed doing is maybe that blogging thing at the end. Would of probably made me a lot better at just writing in general and its a good skill to have for other jobs. Especially with professional writing for companies and what not. Although I hate writing now but is definitely one where you can get a lot of experience. Idk if my parents would of allowed that though. :/
